There is always a chance that MfD isn't, well, popular fiction.
Hmm Shiori + Shikamaru
We shall call that ship the SS Orochimaru!
Edit: Wait, shit. We have to keep them from getting together, otherwise they'll demand their house back.
Point #1: That was a lot of fun. Thank you for all the effort it must have been.Thank you @Radvic for the link. I ended up having to a do a bunch of work even afterward to make things work how I wanted, but it was great for the gruntwork; I spent 2 hours fixing bbcode and formatting, rather than 6+ hours with my template, and had time for a proper debug too.
In Japanese, ship names often end with "maru". This ship would thus naturally become Shiomaru, which effectively translates from Japanese as HMS Salt. Presented without comment.I'm sorry but Shiori + Shikamaru is clearly ShiShi, they even have a poem in their name (it goes: 'Shíshì shīshì Shī Shì, shì shī, shì shí shí shī...).
If by tonights end this is still plaguing us in some way, Yes, and if that doesn't work...well I suppose I'll have to get creative.Other players, would you be willing to give up [X] XP to just... deal with this such that we never have to think of this again?
@eaglejarl Would that kind of transaction be something you'd be willing to do? Basically buying in on that thing you said like a year and a half ago where you mentioned you could do planning for us but it would cost us XP?
I just... really don't want to have to deal with this right now, and based on the lack of involvement in the planning for dealing with it this update, in spite of the number of voters, neither do many other people.

This is not a coincidence because nothing is ever a coincidence
Duly noted. I'd like to keep the original post as it is because it flows better (and people like me will understand "HMS" where they might not recognise the other prefixes), but the correction is appreciated.I hate to nitpick (that's a lie, I love to nitpick), but:
It's only ciivlian ships that get the affectionate -maru suffix. As such you cannot use the military-based prefixes like HMS. At best SV/MV/MY. Sorry.

Look, I'm a reasonable man. Just pay me withPoint #1: That was a lot of fun. Thank you for all the effort it must have been.
Point #2: You are a horrific tease for showing another 120 pages of discussion that we can't see.
Nope, sorry.Other players, would you be willing to give up [X] XP to just... deal with this such that we never have to think of this again?

If it's any comfort, @Velorien and I are doing an interlocked update -- I'll be writing 217A and he'll be writing 217B, both of which cover the same time period from different perspectives. The Ino conversation is all his, so you won't have to deal with it in this update.
How much would you place on him, and why?Exactly why fixing the situation should all be on Hazō's shoulder?
Nope, sorry.

If this is really a problem, Jiraiya will promptly start screaming. Then he will tell Hazō how to fix it, or fix it himself.
Goddammit. Okay.Nope, sorry.

We shouldn't do that anyway. It costs us bonus XP.![]()
Huh, so it looks like we won't be getting a week's worth of things stuffed into one update when there is so much interesting content to be had. Perhaps we should abandon future attempts to turn the clock forwards, lest it serve to prolong our suffering with a minimal amount of optimization spread throughout each one.
In other words, in the hypothetical scenario where the consequences hurt Hazō personally but not the clan overall, he's screwed?
Honestly don't see why any of that would be necessary. The only reason sexual stuff is a rumor mill issue in our world is because people have cultural taboos about it, but MfD seems to treat springing sex events on people with significantly less social apprehension than our world considers, say, an unexpected game of Kiss or Dare. (After all, you wouldn't even play Truth or Dare with strangers. That would be weird.) Ino's presence is enough to confirm that at least someone there understands social norms, and she wasn't concerned about that part of it at all. Plus all that really happened was Shiori was like "are we playing Kiss or Dare?" and Anko was like "let's do that" and Hazō was like "that wasn't the plan" and Anko was like "let's do that anyway" and Hazō was like "let's not".I forget the details, but I remember mention of manipulating the rumour mill Oyabun-style, a few clever things to do with Anko that weren't honour duels, and even asking Ino for help/advice, which the winning plan doesn't do.
