Unrelatedly, I am disappointed in the lack of a Hazō vs Ami plan.

First off, I question why there is a "vs" instead of at "and" but at this point I should stop guessing what evil things will happen once those two meet each other.

Second, you know how Jiraiya wanted to invite Ami to the afterparty - which takes place next update - but failed to do so? Well, would it be such a huge stretch to imagine Jiraiya ordering Hazo to meet Ami to convince her to join the party considering his apparent status as Master Diplomant? In fact, the question is not whether Hazo and Ami are destined to meet; the question is more about how they took so long to do so in the first place when the universe itself conspires for them to meet, marry and live forever due to @MadScientist's plans finally coming to fruition.

Just saying. It totally makes simulationist sense, but more over you don't want the Romance tag on this quest to mislead people, do you? It has been quite a while since we saw some juicy on-screen romance which must be very confusing for all those new readers that joined this quest just for that.

You know, this is probably reinforcing her decision to keep Keiko out of Mori clan politics, if her new clan is this protective of her.

Fair enough. Lets curb that possibility at once and start treating Keiko like dirt so this scenario does not come to pass.
I suggest we do this by having Hazo make out with Ami in front of her to show Keiko how little he cares about her.

You know, seeing as the Kurosawa are stinking cheating Uchiha rejects, wouldn't they know shurikenjutsu? Wouldn't Hana? I would like to get this.

The last two chapters were bad for the team's ego. One day the world will acknowledge our greatness!

Or they won't because @Radvic will make sure everyone's too dead to acknowledge anything.

Hazou's ranged weapons skill is likely too trash.

(Hana should teach Keiko though!)

Fair enough. It's more efficient, expands Keiko's ranged options tremendously, and makes her that much scarier.

With Hazo's high taijutsu, I guess we could do some mining in the library. Maybe those are the old-school, obscure, or difficult styles only weirdos can use.

Nah we gotta invent HAZOUKEN!!

Real smooth, Hazou. We've really gotta invest in more socials after the tournament because conversations like this will become more common, and even if we can't fix Hazou's OPSEC issues by making a number bigger we can certainly give him more experience and practice not looking like an idiot in regular conversation.

Hazou was a bit worse here than I'd have expected, true, but that can be chalked up to stress, Shin having good socials, Hazou expecting a completely different reaction, etc. The important takeaway is that Hazou being lackluster at that convo in the first place was our choice, speccing into combat as much as we did. A sound choice all told, our combat is really impressive and helped a lot, but still our choice.

Let me try this reply again, my last one wasn't very good.
What would the MfD-verse need to look like in order for you to feel like the team had agency and had made positive change in the world? Secondarily, what would be required in order to move one step closer to that state?
I have a vague suspicion you're pattern-matching what I'm saying with some of other people's criticisms, and drawing overly broad conclusions about how much I agree with those people. My comment about Yagura was fully specific to Yagura, and not meant to be a comment about the state of things in a more general sense. I think the team has a heck of a lot of agency─at times more than I think might even be warranted─, and there are a bunch of cases where I do think the team has had a very positive influence, though they tend to have been a bit smaller in scope so far. As to what would move one step closer, well, I gave a list!

My longer-term concerns about impact stem more from the lack of moral principle from Hazō and co. (you may recall this was a major part of me retiring from voting) and a few major examples that are very clearly working against a positive score in this game, but the comment was an aside and I see no benefit in complaining about it in more detail than that.

It was originally Gai's father's technique (in canon) . MfD versions of these characters keep their claws on these secret bullshit techniques like they're going to disintegrate away into sand at a moments notice, so that he hasn't shared it is pretty believable to me.

Only Macerators IIRC?

If I recall correctly, Kakashi knows how to open at least the first gate. Gai's best friend the Copy Ninja knowing it isn't much, but it's more than nothing.

Also, Gai isn't a clan ninja, is he? He wouldn't have clan secrets privileges.

True, Gai won't have 'Even the Hokage can't demand this from you without civil war' guarantees, but if the originator of the technique was a super awesome ninja and the only person they passed it to was a super awesome ninja and their only pupil is shaping up to be a super awesome ninja then you've got enough reputation behind you to not get kicked around easily. Add in a bit of 'the technique is incredibly dangerous, I wouldn't trust anyone but my direct pupil to learn it safely' and the village has good reason and good excuse to leave it be.

FWIW I'd love to have you back as a voter, at least.
