To save on chakra, we should be using wood instead of MEW panels.

Arrange two horizontal force walls with a small gap between them like this:
Code:
_________________(log goes here)
             —————————————————————
Throw some dirt on top so the edges are visible, have a ninja stand on top and rotate the log, peeling it into a 4m wide ribbon. Cut that to the desired panel size and 5SB.

I would rather we just create a series of dirt ramps and cycle through them randomly instead of perching up on the roof. Pandamonium is too big for the air dome.

Is this sufficient?

Yeah - I was just explaining my recollection of when Air Domes entered the equation. Totally fine with dirt ramps at ground level for ranged.

Edit- I supposed the MEW floor was viable from Paneru's suggestion in the prior chapter. Depends on how much we want to rely on Pankurashun, Panashe, and support to prevent Red from reaching under the floor. I'd imagine it would be easier (in order of easiness) for them to 1) engage in a pit around the fort after the team falls into traps, 2) engage the team after they bonk into the floor, 3) Engage the team from tunnels left behind.

How bad off are we if they manage to destroy our intel but we capture them all?

Honestly not that bad. We just need a 50 point advantage on all of Red. We'd end up with 10x number of prisoners. So we'd need like 23 prisoners to ensure we're over the 9 member cell with Kurenai's team, if none of them show up.

We just need to make sure the other Blue stations don't get a surplus of prisoners - we don't really mind if they get their 50 points.

Yeah. Oh well.

I'm going for (1). We can resort to (3) if necessary.

If they destroy it we're out a relative 50 points.

I don't think this actually matters if we capture them all AND Shika delivers on his promises to beat the shit out of Blues.

I digress though. Panashe should be able to detect tunnelers. Whats the point of the impregnable bottom anyway, relatively speaking, if the Tunneling Squad actually DOES chew through our Anti Tunnel Squad, we're fucked because these guys are apparently Jonin or something.

I was mostly picturing Panashe and Pankurashun intercepting like 4-6 people, but the remaining 8-12 getting into the base and attacking out injured teammates who are doing the T&I simulating inside.

Theres only 3 Rock Ninja. At worst, they'll probably have 2-3 groups tunneling separately. If they have ~5 ninja per group? Easy pickings. This would be ideal.

If they have 2 groups thats probably less than ideal. Hopefully Panashe will suss this out though.

@Cariyaga

Because I don't want our 1.5xAB malused low-ability teammates to be outside and get ganked? Ranged might be ok, but only case-by-case (super confident ranged person)

If the building floor is trapped, the ground team virtually has to retreat back outside the trapped area, not knowing where is safe to emerge from the seal-master prepared ground. - this gives more time to Panashe and Pankurashun to finish the job.

Edit:
Note that we are not Rock ninja, yet we have a tunnel technique.

-1, not -1.5, I should think?

Someone mentioned something about the potential of Wakahisa using Mist Drain against us. I had a stray thought about that, not entirely sure about its viability though:

Precommit to telling Leaf about every "secret" Wakahisa technique in detail(i.e., Mist Drain, not how the barrels are made) that is used against us in the Chunin Exams(this round, plus the tournament, essentially) - if and only if:
A) Noburi agrees
2) We can find a Wakahisa to inform of this precommitment

Hinges on what Noburi thinks of that.

Edit:
If there were Mori or Kurosawa who could act as similar force-multipliers/powerhouses, I would consider doing the same for them, tbh.

[x] (speech) No

Also, this. I really don't want to piss people off, even if this is no way in hell gonna pass.

Put edits to address EJ's comments and add counter strategies.

Have added : Sniper Nest Shell Game,Air dome barrier (forward facing),Escape tunnel, Priority Target: Hazama, Emphasis on Anti-Tunneling Squad to not allow tunnelers into the facility.

Have clarified: Multiple things. Please check.

Have removed:
MEW + 5SB (would take >100 CP just to MEW the floor of the facility...). General MEW stuff. We don't have hours here, or infinite chakra. Tunnelers hopefully are a minor risk. MEW cover for ranged is not feasible. Fucking Cloud ninja.

Air domes + Force walls for sniper defenses (Hazama's Instantaneous Teleporting Lightning Pillar Bullshit shreds us alive through transparent cover).
"Don't burn bridges with speech" - Not possible.

Please check through and ping me with edits for tomorrow morning.

[X] (defenses) Layers of Rocket Tag
General:
  • Tactical decisions (Target priority, squad makeup, etc.) ultimately left to IC judgement.
    • This plan is just a framework.
  • Keiko runs everything through Frozen Skein.
  • Hazou makes seals as needed.

Politics:
  • Nara ensures Hyuga doesn't join in attack
    • Updates us during rest day on new info if necessary/possible.
  • Convince teammates to donate chakra
Physical:
  • External defenses:
    • 4 zones cleared in each direction with explosives
      • First zone -- primary ranged attack station -- create a few outward facing dirt ramps against the border (below) with stacked logs/branches.
        • Nickname: "Sniper Nests"
        • These have border 0 with trap field, but are surrounded by some breathing room before the actual traps.
      • Second - fourth zones -- field of traps with a safe path snaking around.
      • Separate zones with border of walls/abattisses from downed foliage.
    • Conventional traps as prepared by Paneru.
    • Nonlethal AOE seals and fake seals throughout field.
    • Safe path bordered by trap field
      • Goes through one gap in each layer's border.
      • Surround safe path with foliage if possible (give Border 1).
      • Has outward facing LBF-ed Air Domes at entrances to cover retreat + blockade.
      • Snakes around to add extra zones of length.
    • Set up dirt ramps facing outwards in layer 2 for more Sniper Nests.
      • Protected by trap field.
      • Ranged ninja know how to move through traps here.
    • Pangolins dig underground ring around facility to catch tunnelers. Trap it.
    • Prepare an emergency exit.
      • Long tunnel. Lightly trap.
    • Consider: Goo Bomb Pitfall trapped area at key choke point.
      • Densely spread under given area of safe path about 6-12 of the above trap design.
      • Attach LBFs and Goo Bombs underneath.
      • Tie individual trip cords to one large trip cord(simultaneous activation).
      • Covered by thin dirt layer for camouflage.
      • Note: maximum a few inches deep.
      • Cascading dirt triggers LBF after a split second of freefall: everything is goo!
      • Detonate early if someone has contextual reason to believe it has become dangerous.
      • Suggest:Test first in 7th path (rest day) if possible. If not, quick test on field, time permitting.
      • Suggest: May synergize with the first retreat Air Dome (above). Use right after the dome activates?
  • Strategy
    • Above ground squad (Pandamonium, Pandojuru, ninja)
      • Pepper enemies with ranged attacks and brief bouts of CQC (Pangolins help with buffs and ranged)
        • CQC is ideally to happen at each layer's entrance.
      • Retreat layer by layer back to the facility.
        • Ranged is at layer 2, then retreats to layer 1 when appropriate.
        • They cover the CQC retreats; do their own when appropriate.
      • Ranged ninja play "Sniper Nest Shell Game"
        • Randomly cycle between these to throw off ranged attackers.
        • Priority target: Hazama. Focus fire if need be.
        • AOE Spam
    • Underground squad (Panashe, Pankurashun, ninja)
      • Counter tunneling attack: they are not to get to the facility.
      • KO and bring to Noburi to drain.
      • Ambush above ground attackers from below afterwards (back lines).
        • Priority targets: Wakahisa, Hazama, etc.
    • Do not get pinned down.
    • Summon more pangolins ASAP.
  • Contingencies:
    • If pinned down (at facility or otherwise):"non-lethally Kagome out".
      • If overrun at facility: try to escape underground. Failing that: "non-lethally Kagome out".
      • Intent: Abandon facility, come around back of the assault force, adopt standard Uplift siege tactics where appropriate.
    • If someone tries to circumvent defenses: Quickly counter with appropriate ranged attacks
    • Goo bomb + Earbuster trap the lockbox.
      • Make it extremely inconvenient to open quietly and quickly
      • Face it to the wall, surround with stuff, etc.
      • Don't break event rules.
    • Time permitting:
      • Random, shallow anti-flood trenches (protect traps).

It could be 18 votes behind if you voted for it.

Going to change my vote as well, the arguments that this might be unnecessary for STR to form and that it would needlessly antagonize future cooperation convinced me.
