Incidentally, for reference. What you call a "mini-update" is presumably a full chapter in many other quests.

Missing word.Regardless, the chances that Nara and Chōji could hold off the entire ? was negligible
HAH!"Yeah," Hazō said from the next tree over. "Trust Nara to figure out how to win without having to actually move."
Quick, let's turn Shin too! They may be part of factions within those clans opposed to Ren's agenda. Big clans will have internal politics to consider.
What? It was only only ~3,000 words, and easy to do. I wrote it this morning, with a little bit of cheaty time at work.
Please tell me that that was a typo for 'knee' and not 'neck'. How in the hell do you wrestle--or even move--with a broken neck?Just one example is an amatuer wretler called Kurt Angle who won an olympic gold medal when he had a broken kneck
Jesus, you're not kidding. Holy crud.Wikipedia said:Angle faced further hardships while taking part in the 1996 Olympic Trials, when he suffered a severe neck injury, fracturing two of his cervical vertebrae,[31] herniating two discs, and pulling four muscles. Nonetheless, Angle won the trials and then spent the subsequent five months resting and rehabilitating. By the Olympics, Angle was able to compete, albeit with several pain-reducing injections in his neck.[25] In the fall of 1996, Angle stated that he temporarily became addicted to the analgesic Vicodin after injuring his neck.[32] He won his gold medal in the heavyweight (90–100 kg; 198–220 lb) weight class despite his injury,
Fixed, thanks.
That's not a bad thing. What? It was only only ~3,000 words, and easy to do. I wrote it this morning, with a little bit of cheaty time at work.
J: DO NOT USE THAT WORD
Nara nodded. "So we still win the event. Now, what happens next? Our fathers are told that we offered you an alliance and you chose instead to attack me, Ino, and Chōji, then injure us all in cold blood. They immediately re-evaluate their relationship with Clan Gōketsu in general and Jiraiya's Hokageship in particular. Do you believe that Jiraiya could retain the hat if the Ino-Shika-Chō alliance turned against him?"
Noburi and Hazō glanced at each other; neither could deny the truth.
"Hang on now," Doigama said. "It sounds like you're planning to cut us out."
On the contrary its to her benefit to beat our face in next round to make up for her embarassing defeat.I'm wondering how Hinata factors in to Shikamaru's plan here. She's aware of his motivations, and while she doesn't support Jiraiya keeping the hat it's not like she wouldn't want Leaf to look strong. Maybe she will just keep her team to the back and retreat?
You mean, to ninja from minor village who probably won't even know how to use the information?

That's unlikely, that would sound bad when reporting to their parents, damage clan reputation and be stupidAlso, I am guessing Shikamaru's plan = something a poster here came up with independently?
Also, should Shikamaru actually betray us, I am seriously going to vote to abandon our building and hunt him down - minus 1k points be damned. We need to establish that people cannot take advantage of us that easily. Tell Jiraiya about this on the rest day if we must, but this is how it should go down.
Assuming this is true, by the time they sell it, jiraiya's position would have already been greatly strengthened by the events here. Therefore, making the information uselessAlso, I am guessing Shikamaru's plan = something a poster here came up with independently?

There are two social specs around with plenty of non-Leaf nin that can corraborate the story. This is pretty juicy information for their clan heads or Village leaders to sell.
This, for the record, is that thing that I proposed in QM chat and then shortly thereafter saw in the thread. While Im thanking my lucky stars that Shikamaru managed to plan and suggest what was basically our original plan minus us hunting everyone down, Im still somehow mildly annoyed that hes doing so.
It's OOC information, but what the hell: Part of the reason is that a smaller group looks less threatening and therefore makes y'all more willing to talk. The other part is because she was the failsafe in case there was a fight, but I won't say more about the plan there.Whatever, we just have to beat the shit out of people this round and make our defenses inviolate next round. We still get what we all want, its just being presented to us in a way that makes Nara look better than before.
Edit: Is there any reason for Ino to not be here during this concersation..?
Also yay! Noburi likes Dark Hazou too!
And if Shikamaru had been there alone, we'd have probably not approached at all. It's OOC information, but what the hell: Part of the reason is that a smaller group looks less threatening and therefore makes y'all more willing to talk.
