It's unclear if Snow has gotten more used to Ami by now. That does seem like something she'd be able to handle better as she establishes more of a life for herself. No doubt she was like this at first but it might no longer be the case.
No need not to loop Snow in tho, just ask her offscreen if she wants to come to the meeting if Ami will be there. It's the considerate thing to do

Since it's a little hard to keep track of all these seals, I'm planning to maintain this list of necromancy-related seals (ordered by urgency/relevance).
Category 1: Seals absolutely necessary for necromancy of any form
If I forgot anything, or if new seal ideas crop up that sound useful, let me know and I'll add it to the list. The main goal of this list is to have everything in one place, so if even one person thinks a seal idea is necro-useful that's reason enough to add it to the list.
Category 1: Seals absolutely necessary for necromancy of any form
- Rift-opening seal
- Prereq: Minato Seals
- Tenketsu-opening seal(?)
- After consultation with Kagome, any diagnostic seals necessary to make easier/assess the viability of:
- Warding off the Pure Lands' chakra drain effect
- Either AoE (protecting nearby seals) or as an addon to existing seal designs (allowing us to research Pure Lands-safe variants of a given seal)
- Summoning or Reverse Summoning within the Pure Lands
- Moving the EN location of a rift scar or open rift
- Opening a second rift to the Pure Lands from a different location in the EN
- Permanently closing the rift scar
- Warding off the Pure Lands' chakra drain effect
- Any seals from Category 2 that the research trip indicates are within our means to make.
- A seal that inflates an already-open rift, so we can keep it open as long as we want.
- Fourfold Barrier/Greatshield seal/Force Blades
- Prereqs: 5SB and/or Force Wall
- Radio seals
- Prereq: Infrared-telescope seals
- Directional Explosives
- Tracking seals
- Jiraiya's Fire Absorbers
- Any and all general defenses/Akatsuki repellent

H does too K that! Ami and Snowflake were present in the same room during Snowflake's first appearance, and the problems only started after that one time Snowflake tried to hang out with Ami alone. And while it's technically possible that there was a metaphysical change in either of their natures that just so happened to coincide with the interpersonal shift, that seems supremely dubious.

Still disagree heavily on this. Canvass needs a trail that is days old to actually track someone. Very useful when we have a starting point (Team Akane's campsite), much less useful when we have no trail and appear on a random beach.

As a followup to Force Walls, Force Wall weaponry is probably a good direction if we think general ass-kickery is going to be needed (and it sort of seems like it might be. Wasn't it implied somewhere that human souls are not the only thing living in Naraka? They may not like interlopers coming in and grabbing people.)
Also, if indeed the 5SB box stall strategy is something Kagome thinks is workable there's likely going to be a lot of defensive seals like Jiraiya's Fire Absorbers we'll want to have on hand. Might want to just add a bullet for like "General Defenses/Akatsuki repellant" or something. Hell, might even be worth researching a 6SB with extra esoteric defenses or something.

Well, how do you imagine these tracking seals working then? The most consistent impression I have is that they're supposed to scan the entire Pure Lands (or at least an area kilometers in radius) and point us in the direction of his chakra signature, but that sounds impossible to me for multiple different reasons. We don't have any seals that defeat the chakra diffusion problem so thoroughly even in the EN, and I highly doubt that a chakra-based tracking seal would be unimpeded by the path drain of the Pure Lands.
The best construction on this I can think of is that we bet that Hidan's tracking ability is as good as he claims it to be, and that we can replicate it with sealing. But the path drain would probably still ruin that, assuming Hidan's tracking isn't also Canvass-like (i.e. picking up and following trails, rather than wide-range 'scan the entire path' tracking) and that we're good enough to copy one of his major tricks. (Hidan's ability could also just be him getting info from Jashin, which we certainly can't replicate with a seal.)
I've still got tracking seals in the list because, I dunno, I'm not a gatekeeper on what goes on the list. But I am extremely skeptical that we can create a tracking seal that can find Jiraiya in the Pure Lands more efficiently than Canvass could. It might just be a failure of my imagination, but I honestly can't think of anything that makes the idea more than a pipe dream.
Good thoughts, I'll add something along that vein.

No guarantees, no known effects of what the Path Drain will do to hypothetical effects, only really unknowns to deal with, but it is possible, so discarding it out of hand because it doesn't fit your model of what seals can do seems like a mistake to me.

I think if we're going to talk to Kagome about our plans, we can do so in a way that doesn't expose him to unfortunate information. Stuff like "Hey Kagome would X work to protect against Akatsuki" rather than being specific about what we're protecting from.

That's... honestly better than I expected, but a fair bit worse than I hoped. Especially the part where those are the prospective specs without interference from the path drain, which I really do think is a major problem for seals like this.
I think you're reading a bit too much into me using "impossible" initially: I meant it to say that getting such an effect on the scale we need and functional in the Pure Lands sounds impossible to me. Even a range of 1 km radius doesn't sound like it offers that much benefit over Canvass's abilities, in the circumstance where it does work unimpeded. So I am updating my expectations upwards because 1km is a bit more than I thought we could get, but I think my ultimate position (that even with our skill level this is not a practical angle to pursue IFF summoning Canvass is an option) remains mostly unchanged.

- Has his Rift Sealing Ideas timeline changed since learning MS7?
- Minato seal displays resemble Naruto's jinchuuriki seal. Investigate if promising. Cross-reference Hazou's Bijuu seal sketches .
- Akatsuki is probably researching the Rift. We'll need to handle them.
- Does Kagome think they can open it without Naruto tenketsu/Minato notes? How long will it take?
- They likely intend to resurrect Pain. Could we perma-kill him/remove his eyes from the equation?
- Hypothetically, we could try converting him to Leaf's side and Uplift, but it seems risky.
- Thoughts?
- Concern: Akatsuki ambushes us upon exiting/steals the Rift.

- Kill Sasori, their only route to using the Rift.
