I agree.
So I agree with everything you have said, except for 1). Which I only technically agree with, in the sense that a person can't be bankrupt if they are dead. Yes, I do honestly believe that ninja will murder the local landlord for failing to protect the rest of the chocolate harvest; ninjas in this setting, as I understand them, are actually that petty. And since I don't want to kill said landlord if they aren't raging asses towards their laborers, I cannot reasonably advocate for a plan that calls for stealing from them in that situation (obviously if said landlord is a shitty shit, we can rob them).1) Stealing chocolate from landlord isn't going to necessarily bankrupt them in one turn. Land is wealth, and they likely have accumulated enough wealth to pay taxes to their ninja overlord by themselves. They're petty nobility.
2) A merchant caravan or when the landlord meets the distributor are going to be the most likely scenario for armed guards to be present, whether ninja or not.
3) Nighttime theft is the most likely way to succeed . Or we could simply burn it, which may be worse than doing hydroengineering or another mudslide.
4) The moment that the chocolate are now cargo being transported and guarded by ninja is the most likely and dangerous scenario in which we lose the monopoly. The chocolate merchant could simply sell it to other merchants which are then dispersed across the elemental nations. One caravan can be dealt with. But five or ten caravans? Less likelihood of success.
5) It is very important that we have this monopoly on chocolate or we go bankrupt.
This is likely not a good plan, but I think the general <what we are doing> is the correct move, even if the details are not. Let me know your thoughts.
[X] Action Plan: Illuminating the Path
Word Count: 202
- Candoru: Give him combat.
- Sparring: Make Shadow Clones for him to fight without holding back. For added difficulty, use multiple (or Akane's) SCs or seals.
- Hunting: Let him fight chakra monsters in the FoD, luring monsters over or making distractions as needed.
- Chocolate: Tap our agent/factor. Is the monopoly-breaking field's owner abusive [NB: an acceptable target to bankrupt?].
- ACCEPTABLE: Steal/destroy the harvest before merchants buy it, prioritizing stealing.
- Who should go?? <HELP>
- UNACCEPTABLE: Determine who's purchasing the harvest, take from them instead.
- Who should go?? <HELP>
- Mari: Discuss telling Keiko FOOM.
- OPSEC: Speak with security at home, obfuscating terminology.
- Our thoughts:
- We want to tell Keiko a (subtext: THE) clan secret, but don't want to strain her loyalties to others (Ami, Nara).
- Keiko worships Ami, and might fold if pressed (however guilty she'd feel afterwards). Would Ami hurt her sister over this, though?
- Likewise, the Nara have claim on her loyalties. Could they order her to tell them? Would they?
- Are we being paranoid in our concerns? Moreover, would Keiko want to hold the secret? Would Snowflake?
- Misc.:
- Continue previous projects.
- Research: Finish chakdar.
- Try doing research without prep. If a sealing failure occurs, revert to 3-day prep + 1-day research.
- Advise her quite strongly to train Shadow Clone to the point where she can use it for a few hours, and to train up Resolve.
- Unless this conflicts with what you want to do with Snowflake. In which case, maybe do this after you've figured more about that out.
So, uh...this is referring to when Keiko told us to talk to Ami about our Out-episode?Okay. This has nothing to do with the previous secret talk thing.
I am guessing that you mean to ask if we could tell her how to take advantage of the THING without actually knowing the THING? As written, I had to think for a few moments to understand what this was saying.Okay, now, what if we said that there was a way for you to... somewhat the benefits alluded to but without actually knowing the thing. You'd have to trust us...
imo we can trust Orochimaru to be civil in such a meeting if we have Asuma or Tsunade around. Either of them means Orochimaru can't breach the laws of Leaf without severe consequences, and I don't think he'd make his decision of whether to stay in Leaf or abandon it based on the kid summoner's cute little idea.
As such, if we get Asuma's approval and he'll be with us for the final meeting to decide the details, then I'm also okay inviting Orochimaru and Tsunade. Odds are neither of them will care, but if they don't show up then we've shown proper respect without consequence and if they do then we're still safe.
You can cut the Shadow Clone bit out and just do the Resolve. Doesnt really matter.
The Yuno thing. So, uh...this is referring to when Keiko told us to talk to Ami about our Out-episode?
Oh, right, that secret conversation.
So I agree with everything you have said, except for 1). Which I only technically agree with, in the sense that a person can't be bankrupt if they are dead. I know! Dealing with reasonable people just feels like cheating.
Also, I believe that Carthage should be destroyed.
[X] Hubris and Greed:
- Preparations:
- Discuss with Gouketsu for approval and suggestions.
- Ask for Keiko's cooperation, be willing to reimburse the Nara and her personally for it.
- Ask summon clans to what extent they are comfortable working together on this operation
- Separate teams?
- Coordinate with the Tower to see where they want us to do this for maximum impact and political considerations.
- Hire a skilled medic nin or two to acompany us on an A-Rank mission
- Hire ninja(s) who know how to track, predict, manipulate, and harvest the beasts in the target area
- The rampage
- Goals
- The idea is to capture chakra beasts, drain them to death, and use the chakra for a positive sum loop.
- This is a trial run.
- Work out kinks
- Get an idea of how much chakra we can get, and how much land we can pacify.
- This run is not expected to be profitable.
- Methods
- Noburi sweeps rivers and lakes
- Non clone, non medic scout in teams
- Summons and clones engage
- Where possible, herd chakra beasts into places where Noburi can drain them without engaging.
- Have large reservoirs of sealed water for flooding nests and burrows
- The spoils:
- Anything we kill gets harvested and doled between the participants (including summons)
- If we start getting more chakra than we can hold, use it to build MEW walls for nearby settlements
- If we start making so many walls that its suspicious, just cast expensive jutsu.
I have frankly grown incredibly tired of this debate.
Here is an unoptimized plan. The words are important and there for a reason, so if you try to copypaste this haphazardly and edit stuff down to try to fit more nonsense in, don't do that. At best, finnangle with the wording to get it down reasonably, but this is all we should be doing if you want to do these conversations.
[X] Action Plan: A Very Important Talks About Things
Go meet Keiko and Shikamaru.(Is one of their secured-against-spying safe rooms free? They have those right?)
- Using the 7P trade stuff as an opportunity to present Asuma something nice and beneficial to the village.
- We can also use this as an opportunity to get back in his good graces by doing this in a manner thats aligned with his desires by checking with him first before finalizing anything.
- You are confident that this represents a massive benefit logistically that impacts many aspects of the current shinobi paradigm, up to and including intelligence gathering, emergency first aid, chakra transfers, and the instantaneous transfer of goods and equipment across the human path.
- One could use the network to ferry buckets of seals across hundreds of miles just as easily as they could bushels of grain or bundles of bullion.
- And if the trade isn't there yet on the nation-scale, this network lowers the effort bar for trade volume to rise.
- Its obviously intensely profitable to all those invovlved—i.e., us.
- Would you two mind running some projections that we could show to Asuma?
- Related 7P matter:
- Inform Keiko about the puppy transport mission Cannai has tasked you to do.
- Request some assistance.
- Do they have engineers they can spare? Perhaps similar designs? Suggestions for building materials?
- You're not sure if the Frozen Skein or... Nara smartyness would be helpful in optimizing results in an engineering problem. Probably not, right?
- The puppies are in danger and you just want this done as quickly as possible
- Have a quick private chat with Keiko if they don't mind.
- Okay. This has nothing to do with the previous secret talk thing.
- If we told you we had a secret that was potentially incredibly dangerous to tell ANYONE —potentially cataclysmic so far as we know— would you want to us to tel you it if you stood to gain something? Even if there are risks involved?
- You wouldn't be able to tell another soul, living or dead, either. It's that secret.
- Mull her answer over. Don't actually spill the beans yet.
- Okay, now, what if we said that there was a way for you to... pretty much get the benefits alluded to but without actually knowing the thing. You'd have to trust us...
- Advise her quite strongly to train Shadow Clone to the point where she can use it for a few hours, and to train up Resolve.
- Unless this conflicts with what you want to do with Snowflake. In which case, maybe do this after you've figured more about that out.
OK? We're not going to ask the family for feedback before telling Keiko?
@MMKII I forgot to mention, what is the plan if Keiko says she would prefer to know the secret because she is confident in keeping it or <insert reasonably sound argument here>? Seems the plan is to tell her to do X without reasoning, but there is no contingency if she goes off-script.
Ah, I see. Still seems strange to me, but I think that may be due to where that part is placed. Maybe you could put it at the very end, so that the conversation is framed as "Here is hypothetical benefit X, you need to keep it a secret, here is another option Y which lets you get X without knowing the secret, do you still want to know X? I'll get back to you later <glances at walls>"?Hazou considers this.
Can add a "I'll get back to you after some more deliberation." underneath that point.
I would have to remove the bits where we tell her about training SC and Resolve for this to fit IMO.Ah, I see. Still seems strange to me, but I think that may be due to where that part is placed. Ah, sorry, could you explain? I'm not seeing the issue...I would have to remove the bits where we tell her about training SC and Resolve for this to fit IMO.
This is vague to the point of uselessness. How does this secret benefit her? How major are the benefits? How immediate and cataclysmic the consequences of an OPSEC breach? How difficult would it be to hide, what shape does benefiting from it takes? All of it significantly impacts whether she'd want to know it. With such a vague wording, she's almost definitely going to say "no" because she's Keiko, and then she'll be all tragic and dramatic and depressed about how the rift between her and the Gouketsu is widening by the day.If we told you we had a secret that was potentially incredibly dangerous to tell ANYONE —potentially cataclysmic so far as we know— would you want to us to tel you it if you stood to gain something? Even if there are risks involved?
- It's Super Ultra Gōketsu Clan Secrets,as well, and given the nature of it you'd have to actively work to keep it from leaking to anyone else. Which might be difficult, because you're surrounded by geniuses and double geniuses...
And this basically spells the secret out.Okay, now, what if we said that there was a way for you to... pretty much get the benefits alluded to but without actually knowing the thing. You'd have to trust us...
- Advise her quite strongly to train Shadow Clone to the point where she can use it for a few hours, and to train up Resolve.
