Implosion Seal

Implosion Seal is a specialized Storage Seal, and it is invented by Gōketsu Kagome. It instantaneously seals all the air within 5-20 m. (Exact radius set at creation time.) Anyone caught in the AoE gets to have their lungs implode as the air sucked out of them. The tag is destroyed by the...

From the fan wiki, the seal has a radius of 5 - 20 meter. If we create a vacuum cage around Kagome/Akane to limit the yield and enlist the aid of Tsunade to deal with the lung implosion, can they survive?

Is it possible to modify the seal such that the sealing failure completes it harmlessly?

If Noburi or the person so infected completely dries their chakra such that they die with the possibility of being resuscitated, what will happen to the sealing failure?

For all we know, the seal is going to unleash all the trapped air of a 13 SIN when it activates, instead of being a normal implosion. In which case, allowing the seal to activate will kill them vacuum chamber or not.

I think "transfer the seal" type plans are the way to go.

(inb4 all it does is put an implosion seal blank on your chest and doesn't infuse or activate it because EJ is a troll)

We also have to account for the non-zero possibility that when the implosion seal is finished and detonates it may choose to start re-drawing itself on the nearest possible <being that qualifies as a target>, or on the last being it was on. Which means we also have to figure out a way to stop the damn thing OR have a target that literally can't be killed by the ISF and thus will spend the rest of its eternity with a seal failure on its chest area.

The fan wiki got it from here so it's WOG
- Implosion Seal

Specialized storage seal. It instantaneously seals all the air within 5-20 m. (Exact radius set at creation time.) Anyone caught in the AoE gets to have their lungs implode as the air sucked out of them. The tag is destroyed by the inrushing air, which causes all the air that it sealed to reappear in a small area, at which point it goes surging out with enough force to wreck a building.

Just getting something on the gameboard.

[x] Action Plan: You're Saving Your Family.
WC: 310

SOP:
  • Careful, this could explode like an Implosion Seal or like a stack of 13.
  • Discuss first, incorporate feedback.

1. (More) Bodies

Put the blotch on something
  • Chakra beasts:
    • Use our limitless food stores to attract some.
  • Ask Naruto to capture hostile ninja alive.
    • Could be missing-nin or a Grass patrol.
    • "Persuade" them to accept the blotch, get creative if you must.
    • Erase all evidence with sufficient explosives.
    • Maybe try this one before moving/contacting others?
  • Is anyone in Leaf terminally ill? We can compensate their family.
  • Hire a suicide mission in Leaf?
    • Do we have any of Jiraiya's missing-nin assets?
2. Ask for Help
Do this if none of the above pans out after a reasonable timeframe IC (48-72 hours or so, with powernaps, maybe?)
  • Message Leaf.
    • Send for Gouketsu, Keiko, and Tsunade/medics.
    • Route the message through Mari.
    • Waylay a Leaf patrol and send them with it or head back thataways after we pursue solutions that can be done on-site.
  • Sub-Ideas:
    • PLT might destroy it as a shadow.
      • Its not clan secrets: Shikaku spoke about it.
      • Directly cast it on host, or teach someone else to do so if the Nara is uncomfortable.
    • Wrap someone in the Pangolin Scroll, transfer the Blotch onto them.
      • The Scroll might fight it off?
3. Clones
  • Kagome: How many times can you Substitute in a row?
    • Naruto: Is that enough to learn Shadow Clone?
  • Get Noburi here ASAP if chakra is a concern.
  • Maybe bring someone else who can use the Shadow Clone jutsu?

4. Empty Lungs
  • If it terminates as an implosion seal, it might not do anything if there's no air around.
  • Host goes to a lake bottom and empties their lungs as the seal completes.
    • Wear a bunch of coats to keep it away from flesh.
    • Medics on standby to resuscitate. EM to warm them.

5. Emergency
  • Keep playing hot potato
    • Nobody is allowed to die. That's an order.
  • Do the thing again.

Great chapter EJ

I think we should also see if the seal moves according to higher densities of air. The way I'm imagining is making a leather balloon and attaching it to a leather vest, with the balloon on the torso area where the seal is. Inflate the balloon, 5sb the vest then replace out of it, see if the seal stays on the balloon.

Option A: Acquire Chakra Beasts
  • Find a big chakra beast-- we were literally hired to exterminate some, they must be somewhere?
    • Unseal some of your almost-endless food stores to attract some.
    • Pawn the blotch off onto it.
We probably don't need genjutsu to get them to use chakra, but I do suspect that we may need to use some form of trickery to get them to do it without killing whoever has the bloch at the moment. Might want to mention that.

Option B: Beat Up a Patrol
  • Throw 20-30 Narutos at a patrol of Grass (or whatever country /pile of missing-nin is most convenient or closeby) ninja to stomp them into the mud and capture some alive.
    • Thoroughly disable and restrain them to whatever extent is necessary and pawn the Blotch off to one of them.
    • Persuade them with whatever means necessary, get creative if you must.
Possibly mention that it should be an opposing country if possible, and that we should leave as little incriminating evidence as possible.

Edit:
[x] Action Plan: You're Saving Your Family.

I'm against any plan that doesn't put having other people die in Kagome/Akane's stead far far further down the list of contengincies. Especially should be after deathbed/voluntary people.

I don't think we should worry about word count for this plan.

I'm down for talking with Akatsuki, but worry about Naruto's reactions. He might think to make an exception for extenuating circumstances. Or he might think Hazou's mental state is causing him to do reckless actions with harmful repercussions (like giving Akatsuki power) and decide hazou must be stopped, forcibly if needed.

Also, if we do end up going to fetch Noburi we should definitely ask Keiko or Ami to use her mori voice.

I will reiterate my concern that the Implosion Seal Failure (ISF) may jump to a previous target, or a nearby target, after it's allowed to detonate. This, for obvious reasons, is a BAD THING and we need to account for it in whatever plan we come up with.

[X] Action Plan: Layers of Paranoia
Word Count: 281

General:
  • Keep track of the ISF. Ask Kagome/Akane if they notice anything different about it every 15min or upon changing.
  • We aren't limited to a single plan at a time. Discuss everything, at a minimum.
Primary Plan: Offload the ISF to something else. It's being done in the background, but should remain our go-to option until evidence suggests otherwise.
  • If animals don't work, it might be limited to humans. Carefully ask if Konoha or Tanzaku Gai have D-boysdeath row inmates.
  • Assuming the ISF targets dense air, try tricking it. Have Akane EM an airtight box with dense air (e.g., a sealed box with air from destroyed Tunneler's Friends), to fill it with her chakra, before taking the ISF. It might travel to the most air-dense area through her chakra, which is the box and not her.
Secondary Plan: Shield ourselves from the ISF detonation.
  • Set up an airtight box with dense air. Implosion seals seal air through walls, and with enough dense air around the seal it may minimize damage to the lungs and prevent the implosion seal from releasing the air.
  • Put the victim in a small Earth Dome, so inrushing air doesn't detonate the seal. Be quick to remove it, since the victim's lungs may collapse.
  • Put layers of shields between the ISF and the victim, like a 5SB'd slate.
  • Have UGLSPs near the ISF to absorb air rushing out of the seal.
Tertiary Plan: Try to deactivate the seal. This is risky since interactions may lead to Badder Things.
  • Make the seal interact with seal-based air, such as Air Domes or Skywalkers. The implosion seal might return an [ERROR] when interacting and shut down entirely. Maybe.

Mmmm. I'm not really fine with limiting ourselves to just chakra beasts and death row inmates --and the latter might take a while to get access to. Why can't we just bumrush a patrol at the border with dozens of Narutos?

  • Have UGLSPs near the ISF to absorb air rushing out of the seal.

NB: This assumes the detonation will work exactly as an Implosion seal, and not as 13 pre-prepped implosion seals blasting off.

I'm also very unclear about what "Having Force Walls may be viable if we can wrap 'clothes' around it for the victim to wear." means.

It does, but we aren't limited to just one Force Wall seal. Speaking of, wrapping clothes around it means we make a disgusting piece of cloth to wrap around Kagome's chest, that allows us to hide the Force Wall inside it. Like an oversized scarf or chest belt. Or something like that.

Thats like asking him to wear a weather balloon though? Forcewalls are 4m x 4m, thats bigger than most rooms you'd find in your average apartment building.

...I have no sense of scale, do I. Regardless, point taken. I'll change it to a 5SB'd block or something similar.

Side note: Does anyone know how do one of those page break things? As in, those lines that cut horizontally through the text box? Because the old SV let me do that but the new one doesn't.

I am reluctant to try explosives

Oh, that makes this eas- dispel!

"I note that the edges are moving, very slightly, in an apparently unpatterned wave action.

How do we know he is dead? I.E., how do we know that Pain didn't fake his death?

I am angered that this statement had to be uttered.

Seal failures *sometimes* relate to the seal. Not always and probably not even most of the time.

That's fine. This is one of those times. We can be certain that that is the case because the alternative involves harm coming to Kagome and at that point chthonic horrors from beyond time and space are the least of anybody's concerns. Motivated-Lail is what those amateurs tell stories about at night to scare each other.

Hey, did we ever sell those spines?

DISPEL!!!

Ladies and gentlemen, nominative determinism.

Yes.

Anyway, why are people trying to kill this thing? We just symbiotized a bioseal which renders its wielder completely immune to explosions! This is where bloodlines come from, people! We literally just discovered a source of endless skin grafts!

Anyway, inverted-implosion-shadow is friend. On the off chance it isn't:

We really should have grabbed some chakra paper while we could. How does it respond to ordinary paper? Paper soaked in ink? Paper soaked in chakra-infused ink? An implosion seal blank? An implosion seal? Their mirror images or negatives?

Is the way it is manifesting the same every time? Is it the order Kagome draws them in? Hazou? Backwards? It's it mirror-inverted?

How does it response to bright light? Darkness?

How does it like having everybody pump as much chakra into it as they can at the same time?

Implosion seals are wind-related. Of course they aren't interested in an earth clone. Has anybody tried a basic clone? Naruto should be able to make wind clones, and Akane fire, which wind does not like.

Has anybody tried just leaving? It's acting like some sort of extradimensional projection into 2D. It may not be able to leave a certain radius around ground zero.

PS: the green medical chakra invented by a summoner which makes worse things which must be drawn out by earth requires still meditation and great chakra control. Hrmmm...

PPS: I told you all so. I told you exactly this would result from SINs. You are all unrepentant SINners.

Note that we shouldn't discuss that with Naruto before exhausting all other options — he'll respond to it the same way Hazou responded to his mercy-kill suggestion last chapter.
Because I don't want to risk starting a literal world war?
Who cares about that? Kagome is in danger! It's fine if the world burns as long as he is safe.

I cannot allow our primary source of Forbidden Lore to die.

I don't understand the logic of "ISF targets air densities" because it doesn't seem to gel with Akane and Kagome being able to past it along like a hot potato.

I find it unlikely Akane will allow us to foist it to other humans; we cannot verify the guilt of "death row inmates" in Ninjaland, identifying and eliminating enemy ninja patrols require miraculous luck or the work of weeks and "sacrificing" palliative care village ninja will not go well with anyone.

I don't necessarily understand why small chakra beasts, or chakra grasses to be fun, wouldn't work, as the failure doesn't appear to map to seal limitations (can't move, need smooth surface.) Might as well wear rumpled rain clothes or cut the fabric the seal is on such that it's in separate pieces, if we're going to do that.

[X] Plan: Bluff Clone jutsu

Miscellaneous Precautions/Contingencies:
  • Be careful: this could blow up like an Implosion Seal or like a stack of 13 prepped ones.
  • When transferring the Blotch to a beast, restrain the target thoroughly restrained.
  • Have ample cover to run behind in case of Explosions.
  • Accept plan suggestions and precautions.
  • Try and get Noburi and Keiko
  • Offer Naruto your food stores to help acquire a beast.
Option A: Make a more attractive Clone host
  • Send an Earth clone that mimic's a human more closely this time.
    • Heat your shirts over a fire and place them on your clone to warm its core (especially the heart area.)
    • Place a purifier seal on the clone's core as well.
    • If the above fails, get the Clone to be a buffer between the next transfer
    • Ask Akane to pump medical chakra into the clone. Maybe it will be recognized as part of her body?
Option B: Working with Layers
  • The blotch hovers over the core of a live body, even if it's covered by layers instead of direct skin contact. Try to exploit this.
    • Try adding more easily removable layers of clothing to kagome and Akane as practical. The goal is to see if the distance between the blotch and chest can be increased.
    • If clothes can't be removed overhead, maybe they can be cut and pulled off horizontally before backing away.
    • If projected chakra establishes a tether for the blotch to travel on, test if a dispel might dislodge the blotch by temporaily disrupting the host chakra system. Test before, during, and after a transfer is initiated.

I was thinking of getting Kagome to try SC, but I don't know if Akane or we could deal with 2 possibly suicidal Kagomes.

I'm also hoping Hazo's earth clone failed because it's at freaking lvl 1. Maybe the heat or air or chakra will get the blotch to overlook our poor clone.

Here's hoping.

I'll make additions later.
