the fact that I waited a week on this is really awkward but someone's gotta put a plan up.

So @eaglejarl gave us permission last time to slot some extra space under a plan (and not included in wordcount!!!) that would be reasonable to put in the background and would not belong in the Action Plan. Direct quote:

Alright, I significantly changed the bottom section so that it's a discussion with the clan about:

In order to fit everything back down, I also made other wordcount optimizations.

Doesn't matter if it's stronger, it'll still take Keiko longer to catch up to the point that she can fight jounin without dying to a stray shot.

On the note of Keiko, however... I think we should strongly consider asking a favor of Ami here. Dog scroll is on offer, and that's a big deal.

        • For that matter, what was Pein up to; what, exactly did their seal array do? Ask Kagome, see if information survived the Tower.

I realized that this is a ridiculously long meeting, of the kind that the hivemind and QMs hated.

Also, this is a shit ton of items. Do you really think our QMs like writing that? We should cull any items that we think we couldn't convince to sign off on, like Elemental Mastery.

At the very least put in some directive to get things done, like making sure that the Naked Jaybird got renovated.

The friend we most voted to spend time with was Ino*****, clocking in at around 10 to 12 times out of 58-69, depending on how you count.

Most of those votes, in addition, was simply because we didn't get to it in a previous plan.

On average, though, we chose to vote to spend our time with friends like...10% of the time, at the most generous.

If we keep it up, that's a great way to lose them as friends.

*****Naruto is a special case because our relations with each other kept bouncing all over the place until it's where it is now: "you're either a traitor or a fucking moron, Hazou".

I'm not sure about how many items/scenes are on the plan, but I haven't spent too many spoons on looking at it and I always forget to vote.

On this point, it might actually be worth checking in with Asuma, since he's our local dictator. Would a collection of contacts that could be used to rebuild a spy network that was built by the premier spymaster of Leaf be worth more or less than an active spy network that was reactivated by ex-missing-nin who did so with the intentions of immediately handing it over to said dictator?

I could easily see the contact info itself which hasn't been acted upon by us as being more valuable than a network that has been activated by us. And this allows us to, if it's more valuable being activated by us, get official permission to do it, rather than sneaking off from some fake side mission to do it, which looks sketchy as all hell.
 
Little jutsu idea I came up with:

Lightning Shadow
A failed attempt at creating a Lightning Clone adapted into a combat buff, this jutsu creates [Effect] amorphous duplicates of the user out of lightning connected to the user's hands by threads of lightning. The duplicates copy the pose and movements of the user and with manipulation of the lightning threads can be repositioned and reoriented, almost reaching the flexibility of proper clones.

Upon casting, the user creates [Effect] shadows, all of which stay in the same zone as the user. The lightning shadows can be used to either support in a Taijutsu roll to the tune of 1 AB or perform Taijutsu rolls of their own. For each lightning shadows performing its own Taijutsu roll, the user and all lightning shadows take -2 AB penalty due to multitasking. Lightning shadows can support the Taijutsu rolls of other lightning shadows.

However, the technique is unruly and unstable. If a lightning shadow is defeated, the feedback causes one stress to the user. When the user takes any stress (including from the breaking of a clone) they must make a Resolve roll to keep the other lightning shadows under control. If they fail, all the other lightning shadows decohere and inflict their feedback on the user.


In essence, this is a very dangerous jutsu where if you slip up once the whole thing might fall apart on you and all but take you out of the fight. In return you get easy AB buffs and, if you're willing to risk it, the ability to attack multiple enemies at once. Stylistically, the idea is that the ambitious TH'er tried to create almost-clones stabilized by a constant connection to the user and, failing to get rid of the connection and make them true clones, shifted gears to have it enhance melee combat instead.

I would switch this with the secret gold mine at the Earth/Fang/Mountain border:

If we can figure out how valuable the mine is and it turns out that it is useful, then Haze might actually be interested in some kind of defensive pact/alliance against Earth, so that they can protect the themselves better from an invasion, the Tschuikage has been described as a warhawk after all and invaded us.

We can clear the Iron mine anyway, but we don't know much about this region in the world, so I would want to bring this to the clan.

And we can look for Jiraiya's bastards if people really want.

Reminder that being a jōnin means being amazing at everything. Unless you're Maito "can almost kill a physical god if he opens all eight Gates" Gai, being good at one thing makes you a special jōnin tops.
