This is certainly an unusual situation (vote time on a saturday night with a second update on the way) but quite a happy one in my eyes. Thanks eaglejarl and Velorien!

So, Uzumaki estate plan is out of the question, and we have a week to find a place to put our other people up. I don't recall seeing anything in the chapter about the 'background logistics' to Mari but can we assume that Hazou has/will give Mari the orders? If so then we just need to be ready for her results, and maybe locate some other temporary shelter in the meantime.

Apart from that... all I can think of is meeting #2 with Orochimaru (carefully) and, I dunno, talk to Kabuto? Here's the Plan Cache in case there's anything in it that sticks out more.

Rules of the Plan Cache:
  1. Get Support. The Plan Cache is for ideas that already have support of a sizeable chunk of the playerbase, not for ideas that someone wants to advocate later. For a benchmark, your idea should have enough support to be in one of the major plans of a cycle if there was room in the plan.
  2. Short-term. The Plan Cache is for ideas that we intend to implement in the next few updates, or more loosely within the same rough story arc. If you have an idea beyond that temporal scope, I have another post storing those ideas so ask me to put it there instead of cluttering up our short-term storage.
Sometimes when we're making a plan we have a good idea that's just outside the temporal scope of the update, but we don't want to cut it from the plan because we might forget by the next cycle. This adds unnecessary words that could have been spent fleshing out the rest of the plan, and may outright cost XP in the worst cases.

This plan cache will hold these subsections so they don't fall into the void between planning cycles. Just ping me with the subsection and, unless it's wildly unreasonable, I'll edit it into the post. I'll keep them there for a while until they either make it into a winning plan, fall out of favour, or the context significantly changes. Depending on circumstances, they might end up in my Side Project Cache, or they might be dropped, and I'll make sure to be transparent about what I'm doing.

I'll do my best to quote this post after every update, so that planmakers can get an easy reminder about what we never quite got to last cycle.

Noburi isn't sure if Tsunade is still in Leaf. If she's not, he's not leaving the city to find her.

I'm too tired to deal with the Konan thing. Either I misremembered the number of people who got resurrected or I misremembered some bit of the worldbuilding, or Noburi misremembered the report. Whichever, don't fixate on it.

I just finished watching the Naruto vs Neji episode with my partners, and had a sudden insight into Hiashi's psyche in MfD as a result of it.

The QMs have tried to cleave as closely to canon events as they can.

How do you think a once-idealistic Hiashi would react to his brother sacrificing himself to protect a peace he knew would not last?

To help you out a bit: 7 got revived, but there was never any mention of Jūzō during the Battle of the Gods. (Also any details of his existence was anime filler.) So you should probably just excise Jūzō from the list and add Konan, since there seems to be little other reason for Noburi to even know that name in the context of the Akatsuki.

Going off the last time we received similar advice from someone, I feel certain that we'll be forced to call upon these powers within three chapters, probably as part of a desperate gambit to defeat an S-ranker.

Also, yesss, Keiko leaked enough details about the Frozen Skein to allow us to push Hazou towards putting things together. All according to the plan.

Uh huh.

"True name" is a fancy way of saying "unique chakra signature" perhaps.

Sounds like we need to learn some of this summoning shit so we know exactly what we shouldn't be poking around in insofar as "bridging the gap between worlds" is concerned.

I think that when Noburi will finally start his summoner training Hazō should tag along and learn the stuff as well even though there is no contract for him. Yet.

So, now that its been made clear that Naruto won't be joining the clan immediately, can we take him aside and teach him the top secret Pangolin jutsu on the off chance that he needs it to win a war in the next couple months, instead of being overly scrupulous about "honor" and "promises" for no reason in a situation where the other party is likely to never find out about this event (and in a situation where their opinions probably don't matter much anyway)?

Last resort? Maybe? Just have Naruto join the clan on the onset of war.

I wonder if we could write up a document or something that proclaims Naruto part of Team Uplift (or just declare it without documentation, perhaps) and tell the Pangolins that for political reasons we can't share the same last name but he's definitely One Of Us.

Like, for real, Naruto is part of our clan, whether he's Goketsu or Uzumaki. It's just a question of whether that clan is the Goketsu or Team Uplift.

I find your stance on this pretty unmoveable. I'll just put you down as "Literally incapable of being persuaded" as far as this point goes then.

How about we just adopt him, informally or otherwise do it outside the Leaf legal system? Its not like the Pangolins have a grand knowledge of Leaf laws and what it means to be a clan on the human path or anything, nor was this some legal definition agreed upon between our two parties or anything.

Didn't say that. I just said that all we have to do is sign the paper the moment that we heard that Rock is coming for our head. We should probably set up skytower observation posts and signaling mechanisms though.

Thats almost surely not enough timespan to train the techniques adequately, compared to a handful of weeks. If we learn the war is on then shit hits the fan in a matter of days.

Pretty sure it's "hours", if we get any advance warning at all. They surely know we have spies; they won't give them enough time to transmit the information, and they can move that quickly.

Your opinion on the matter seems to be "We will not teach him the things until after he is formally adopted" yes?

I would accept teaching him the things now and then withholding from filing the paperwork until the war kicks off, if thats what you're saying.
