I don't get it. What admin work do we need done where we have to put people on an island? Pay in food supply? Huh?

I don't know what the purpose of the island is, but I'd be interested in voting to adopt some civilians and teaching them to do research and administration stuff.

Anti-Hyūga seals should be fine. We could maybe let them do the research/admin stuff in the clan compound? It's big enough, and there's plenty of facilities ready-made for medical research. :whistle:

Its maybe the only thing that can bring him back.

Would probably require more QM spoons to write these scenes(Modeling Akane/Tenten, Finding Akane, figuring out how this process is supposed to work, etc) and some of us are hesitant about the legal specifics at the moment. Should we adopt people in a gradual trickle in? All at once? Should we do it in such a way that it signals something specific to the other clans? Should we just do it without asking Mari or Kagome? All something to ponder.

Hiashi might approve of slavery but engaging in it probably won't improve his opinion of us. will be fairly hypocritical and will torpedo our popularity with the rest of leaf.
 
I still think we should try to make the Goketsu the clan of the Sannin.

[X] Proto Plan : Goketsu of the Sannin
  1. Get Tsunade to join us.
  2. Spin Oro as a redemption story with a heroic sacrifice at the end.
  3. Posthumously make Oro an honorary clan member.
  4. Figure out where the Toad and Snake scrolls are. (High prob that Tsunade has them, and we need to get the bodies for safekeeping anyway.)
  5. Give Nobby the Toads.
  6. Talk to Snakes? (Seriously we need a read on them before we make any decisions.)
It gives us a lot of power, credibility with the civilians, legitimacy with leaf, and makes us much more stable and survivable even if Hiashi gets the hat.

The only real downside is that it might make Tsunade ineligible to hold the Senju seat and back us on the council, but given that she probably won't want to hold that seat it might not actually be a loss.

Note: I want an actual plan to bring up the idea in front of Mari, Tsunade, and the gang. I do not want to jump head first into implementing it.

Edit: We also need to find some way to counter the inevitable propaganda that will undermine Mari's legitimacy as Jiraya's wife.

@faflec: Under the Tsunade discussion section could you add:

  • Offer Tsunade clan membership, suggest posthumous honorary membership for Oro w/ appropriate propaganda.
Jiraiya already implied that Tsunade might force herself into the clan head position, which presumably means she could be/would have been welcome as a clan member.

I suppose that's true.

Maybe include it with a "If there is time, talk to Akane and Tenten about adoption"?

I am always paranoid that something comes between our planning and the exectuion and I could buy that Ino and Shikamaru would adopt them both now.

So I don't see why it would be out of character for Shikamaru to do this. He is a trained ninja, he isn't just going to sit crying in his room, he might consider adopting Tenten just for Keiko's sake, or because it's a win-win for him and his Clan. Adopting one of Gai's students (who can be considered a hero right now) might also be a reason.

I don't think "Adopt these folks." is going to be on anyone's priority list within the next IC week. Leaf is in full headless chicken mode right now. Theres logistics, politicking and strategic planning that needs doing. We're probably the only people for whom "Adopt a pile of people" makes the shortlist as far as "Stuff to do in the next 48 hours." goes.

I would hesitate to give her full clan membership given her Senju Clan Head status and the fact that, if she's going for the hat, she'll want that position as a extra vote. Maybe give her honorary membership?
