Sort of. They're filling, which lembas was not. Also, they only keep for a few weeks if you leave them on a shelf, whereas lembas was supposed to stay good literally forever. Aside from that, pretty much.
Based on what I've heard, the next update will cover some of what happened at the battle and may or may not (probably not) cover part but not all of the plan.

Expanding on what @OliWhail said: @Radvic wrote a "rutting huge battle" simulator, we put together a list of several dozen people and summons who were at the fight, and ran it. Then we spent a day or so going "ZOMGWTFBBQ" and figuring out the implications. Now @Velorien is writing that. I may or may not write a little more of it as part of the next update, but I'll try to make sure to write at least part of the plan as well.
As always, voting will be open after the chapter drops, which will be tomorrow. The existing plan will be the default, but you can vote in changes or a new plan.
Also: Voting is extended to 3pm on Saturday.
