My bad.

Thoughts on whether he'd still detonate his verbal bomb after hearing about Gaara's abduction?
I'd say its ike ~70% likely he'd return to this if given the chance.

It's entirely possible that within the next 5 seconds we get a "Everyone out of the inn, grab everyone thats still here in Mist and go wait here at (Location) with the rest of the adults for orders gogogo!" order from the big man, which would catapult away a lot of the audience.

Soooooooo....In case of situation going FUBAR....What is our plan B?
[] Form a Summoning Contract with the Rift Denizens.

e: more seriously, if things go haywire then we'll likely have to plan on the fly. The update will quite probably take more time than just one action and seeing it fail, so that means the situation we'll end up in will wildly change based on what happens in the update, to the point where there's virtually no point in detailed planning since we have no idea what's going to happen.

Voting is still open.

Given the low turnout, I'm guessing that people either aren't interested in the quest anymore, don't give a damn about the current problem, or don't feel like they have any ability to affect the situation.

Which is a shame, because the next thirty seconds are a pivot point for the entire quest. If things go poorly, there's probably going to be another war in the next month or so. If they go well, then the good economics that Jiraiya has managed to negotiate for will start to pay dividends for Leaf. They will marginally raise standard of living for many people, significantly raise it for some, make it much more likely that Jiraiya keeps the hat, and ensure that there's peace enough for you to focus on Uplift instead of being metaphorically chained to a desk making skywalkers while everyone else goes out to kill people.
For me it was that I had no real ideas for how to contribute (including what I could contribute to the vote), wasn't sure if we could positively affect the situation anyway, and was still half convinced we were in a genjutsu. Plus some real life obligations preventing me from putting as much effort in as I otherwise would have.

I tend to freeze up and overanalyze things before deadlines. I'll end up spiraling so much I tend to miss votes calls.

I just have to say that there's a certain wonderful irony to using the reputation Hazou developed and got disciplined for by Jiraiya to stop an even bigger diplomatic mess.

I will be overall exceedingly happy if this works out (that shit is hilarious!) though it may be a bit annoying if everyone pegs this as "Hazou just doing a Hazou" and not "Hazou "doing a Hazou" as a cover for an attempt to stop WW4." after the fact.

I bet Shikaku will approve!

I will note that obfuscating incompetence is a tried and true disinformation strategy. Having a reputation for being a naive radical is very exploitable in the right circumstances.

I'm totally on board with this, but it makes casual social interactions slightly more annoying, and you have to spend some elbow grease framing things the right way if thats your public persona.

Until we can become l33t social spec haxor, it's a decent interim and should prove to be pretty effective.

Uh, also:

the best reputation for a Deceit spec is being naive, tbh

Arguably the best rep is to be known as a relatively sincere and truthful person who makes good on their deals.
Very much so. So in ninja deathworld terms, naive.

It seems likely that the low turnout was just a function of it being friday when we realized we were to vote. Silly people and their social lives. :p

Hazou: "Mister Zabuza, I'm curious about something. I have a bet with Noburi, you see."
Zabuza: "What is it, traitor?"
Hazou: "Did you fall for our plot to bait you into going to Snow? Noburi was sure it would work, but I wasn't certain you'd fall for something so blatant."
Noburi: "Dude! What the fuck?"
Zabuza: *twitches*
Hazou: "We weren't in a position to find out, though. You see, we turned around and went to a tropical island to relax on a beach for a while."
Zabuza: *more twitching*
Hazou: "I'll take that as a yes, then. Noburi, here's your one ryo. Alright, back to you Jiraiya."

Hazou: "...But I hear it was worthwhile for you after all, since you met your true love in Snow and brought her back to Mist."

Can confirm. Sizeable portion of friends yesterday were unable to hang out because they were locked in deadly combat with the Hydra known as the US Tax Code.

Yikes.

I send them 600 cookies.

Mines weren't too bad, just had to convert my cryptocurrency profits into usd manually, but it didn't take too long.

Now i just have to help the family deal with their tax woes...

Hazou: Finally, finally, after years of fearing him, we no longer have to worry about Zabuza killing us all.

Also Hazou: OI ZABZ, YOU SUCK FITE ME IRL
