Guesses for tomorrow, everyone?

I'm betting on announcement that the QMs are all moving in together to better coordinate the quest :p

I mean, it's technically 4/1 in some parts of the world....maybe the update that just got posted is part of a multi-chapter nightmare where Leaf gets eaten by lupchanzen?

Suggestions:
  • Put in links to these plans to remind QMs that we've been voting to start preparations for a long time now.
  • Ensure that each playing group has a Leaf social specialist, whose main job would be to watch out for interpersonal conflicts and nip them in the bud.
  • Give hypercompetent challenge-seekers opportunities to hang entertain themselves: give people options to play multiple games or characters simultaneously, have a game session in which rulesets constantly switch around, et cetera.
  • Include a section where we privately talk to Ami to establish a scheme to confirm integrity of letters for inter-village communication. Maybe throw in an encryption algorithm too.
    • (At the very least, it would be awkward if we found ourselves unable to call in that favour due to security concerns, or if someone intercepted our letter and changed the favour's nature.)
  • Ten minutes before the games start, invite Zabuza.

Okay, so the plan I promised.

[X] Plan PARTY HARD

Word Count: 265
  • Before arriving at party site
    • Complete planned preparations.
    • Send a message to the Oyabun thanking him for his cooperation and looking forward to a healthy, profitable relationship in the future.
  • Coordinate plans with everyone else; if there's already an established plan, attempt to integrate elements of the following plan:
  • Set up the most powerful figures from each village at a central game of Strategic Dominance, or whatever would allow us to fit twelve to fifteen people at a table without too much awkwardness.
    • Arrange them so that nobody is seated next to someone from their own village.
  • Arrange the rest of the seating and table arrangements so that everybody from a village is in sight of their village representative.
    • Aim to allow the guests to play multiple different games within their village representative's line of sight
  • Set up two sets of refreshment tables bracketing the main table so that anyone approaching a table is in sight of the main table.
  • Allow for rearranging the tables to set up special options; generally aim to keep each guest within clear line of sight of their village representative.
    • Potential special options include but are not limited to: shogi tournaments, simultaneous games (one person plays several), simultaneous roleplays, etc.
  • Ensure that each group has a social specialist nearby to de-escalate, preferably from a third village from probable belligerents.
  • Draw out maps and diagrams of the final arrangements and put them on the gaming tables/floorspace along with clearly labeled entrances and exits.
    • Distribute to guests if we make extra.
  • As the party's winding down, note that this is the last time you're going to be around Poppa for...a while.

Thoughts, improvements?

Changed, but not precisely in the way laid out; Leaf social-specs deescalating might lead to things being seen as Leaf favoritism. Provisions have been made to allow for groups to set up "special options", but not strictly saying they'd get them; Ami'd probably end up as Mist representative at the big Strategic Domination table anyway. Did not include section for creating method for Ami to repay us; she can spend her own valuable time coming up with an appropriate way to repay us for reconciling herself with her sister after her own mistake. ^_^

On a happier note, depending on the timeline of where this is, it's confirmation that Akane's alive! No way in heck the village, or Kagome, is still standing if Tsunade vaporized her.

To let Hazou start thinking about his father and possibly get him IC justification for the Jiraiya talk I had in my plan. I think.

I'm not sure this is actually a good idea, to be honest. Talking to Jiraiya about Shinji, that is. The man's coping by burying his grief under a mountain of immediate responsibilities; if we forcefully unbury it, the results could be unpredictable and scary. It's going too fast, I feel.

First, we should establish that it's even safe for him to confide in us, which I don't think we have, yet. My prediction is that once the fate of the hat is decided and the pressure eases up a bit, Jiraiya will start unravelling; I'd like to have support ready for him when that happens.

I mean, maybe? We're not committing to talking to Jiraiya about Shinji under Party Hard, but on top of that, there is the question of how we could establish that it's safe to confide in us; what would you suggest wrt getting him to grieve safely?

What's with the cipher text?

This is obviously a hyuga plot to undermine the our public image. /S, /S, ......, /S

I neeeeeeeed it

It's a ciphertext, so it's impossible to read.

It's rot13

google it for a site that decrypts it for you

Oh, that's all? I recommend Vigenere as my usual choice for reasonably secure but old cipher that can be performed without a computer if needed. It's handy.

Eh, rot13 isn't meant to be secure, it's just carved out a niche on the internet for pseudo-spoilers in the sense that you can't accidentally read it and have to intentionally go and decrypt it. Also sometimes used as a tongue-in-cheek fake whisper.

Generally if I see ciphertext on the internet among plaintext I assume it's rot13 and run it through the site before thinking about other ciphers.
