Well, thats one way.

Another way (if you want to kill the guy) is to just stack LBFs and explosives in some sort of sandwich like pattern, tie together with ninja wire and then tossing them up in melee distance of the guy before retreating underground as fast as you possibly can.

I dont have much faith in anyone dodging ~100 zone wide explosives point blank unless you roll around with the S-ranks/ have some Spacetime bullshit. Although I suppose if you were quick on the draw with a good repulsion technique (Wind Style: Go Away no Jutsu!, Rinnegan Bullshit: Shinra tensei!) that would work just fine.

But we aren't trying to kill the guy.

(Once again, nonlethal combat optimization is hard! :p)

If we get to fight Keiko, I think we should agree that Hazou is the only one who gets to overuse explosive tags. Keiko should only get like 10.

My consideration is that overwhelming explosive power is Hazou's aesthetic. We want to have stylistic differences during our fight.

Plus this underscores how we are a sealmaster and she is a summoner. Better propaganda no matter who wins.

I'm pretty sure blowing ourselves up makes for a pretty neat aesthetic. Doubt we have to worry about that one.

BOOM! (Not-)Squish.

To be honest I'm not entirely sure why initiative doesn't involve a roll. It does weird things like this. Although I suppose not having to roll initiative is a good enough reason.
From a simulationist perspective its probably a "In general, how on the ball are you?" type thing. So you'd want flat Alertness, I guess.

Yeah, doing the math Keiko is pretty fucked in CQC. She gets 40 Athletics + 5 Substitution (+ Aspects) against Hazou. It's...not pretty.

It's kind of strange to me that there's never at any point an opposed Athletics checks to see if you can close in on someone that doesn't want you to, tbh. I mean, it's good for Hazou, but less so for Kei.
