The whole 'Is that your first killing curse? You have to mean it!' thing? It does sound sort of analogous.

HPMoR said:
Again Moody shook his head. "No. It's the killing that does that. Murder tears the soul - but that's just the same if it's a Cutting Hex. The Killing Curse doesn't crack your soul. It just takes a cracked soul to cast." If there was a sad expression on the scarred face, it could not be read. "But that doesn't tell us much about Monroe. The ones like Dumbledore who'll never be able to cast the Curse all their lives, because they never crack no matter what - they're the rare ones, very rare. It only takes a little cracking."

@MadScientist already merged the plans.

I DO think we need to be explicit. If we just send 'zou in to get hit with Jiraiya's killing intent without any explicit mental backup he's going to be floored.

What do you think about doing the training with Keiko and maybe working our way up to some other Jonin who aren't as busy as Jiraiya if we can deal with Keiko's, using Jiraiya for advice and intelligence on competitors instead of something so time intensive for him as actual training?

[X] Training Plan: In Case of Emergency, Break the Hazou

This training plan is only to be enacted if an action plan is voted for that calls for Hazou to practice projecting his own variety of KI.

Stunt: Forged in Fire [25]

There are SO many death flags, we're going to come home to Akane's funeral.

You can safely relax, Tsunade isn't going to kill Akane for caring about someone and wanting to ensure Tsunade gets complete information so her patient gets the best medical treatment possible. She was just testing Akane's resolve. It wouldn't surprise me if Tsunade has taken Akane under her wing when we get back.

As for the conspicuously ostentatious death flags, that's just the QMs messing with us.

Pffffft. I like the name. Remind me what the stunt does, exactly?

[X] Training Plan: In Case of Emergency, Break the Hazou

It is thematically appropriate... even if I think we need the CR and Alertness more... Tentative vote to perhaps be withdrawn later.

Tsunade: How did I amass a collection of Gōkestu apprentices again?

By default, "Thousand Yard Stare" points (gained via exceptional trauma) give you bonuses to Intimidation and resisting Intimidation.
With Forged in Fire, Thousand Yard Stare points apply to Empathy and Rapport.

It's basically an Uplifty way to turn "I have seen the worst this world has to offer and you don't scare me." into "I have seen the worst this world has to offer and I won't let you suffer the same."

@Cariyaga

If your particular hangup on this is that we don't have FiF yet, I'm willing to vote [] Buy FiF in as a training plan as long as we dont half ass this: epic Hazou-raises-his-head-against-J's-killing-intent or bust! :p

I'll leave it up to better informed people about whether it's worth the purchase, but this would be a really dramatically appropriate moment to develop it.

Valid builds if we take Forged in Fire now:
  • Alertness 34, Chakra Reserves 10. Save 2.5 XP.
  • Alertness 33, Chakra Reserves 10, New Earth Jutsu 10. Save 9 XP.
From the perspective of Alertness 34, Chakra 11 (what I think is the best build provided the new jutsu isn't super-useful), it would cost us a level of Chakra Reserves to afford.
From the perspective of Alertness 34, Chakra 10, Jutsu 10 (the best build if the new jutsu is super-useful), taking Forged in Fire would cost us one level of Alertness.

All-in-all, not too damaging, but not preferable either. Now might be the most opportune time to do it, however.

Now that I think of it, should we get that intel on opponents from Jiraiya before making purchases? It's possible it would change things.

@MadScientist I really like [] Action Plan: The Power of Love to Go Even Further Beyond, but I also want to ask Jiraiya about our competitors and anything he's willing to tell us. Like, something we forgot is that Jiraiya may well be in favor of us beating other Leaf nin as well, maybe even so much that he tells us secrets we wouldn't have access to otherwise. I mean, isn't that what Hiashi would do for Hinata even if he were the Hokage?

For now I'll vote for two plans.

[x] Action Plan: The Power of Love to Go Even Further Beyond

[x] Action Plan: Merger Plan (142 Words)

@TaliesinSkye Your plan is still really short. Are you willing to add more details regarding our asking Jiraiya for tips to beat our competitors?

Also, does anyone remember who all of our competitors even are? I remember Team 8, Team 10 and us, which makes 9 ninja.

Kiba, it seems like you're really negative a great deal of the time in your thread posts. I don't know what the issue is or what you might be wrestling with in your private life, but it's becoming a real drag.

I have no intention of attempting to change the chakra reserve cost. Rather, my expectation has been inaccurate.

Presently, I care nothing about the activities that the playerbase are getting up to, nor the tournament battles, hence my current frustration of not being able to timeskip.

I won't comment on my private life except to say that it has nothing to do with MfD and I prefer people not to presume anything's going in my life.

If you can think of a way to phrase that in 5 words or less so it stays within 300 words then sure.

Do we still plan to get our seals inspected by a third party before our first fight?

E: Not really relevant to the immediate plan, but things get lost at times with everything that's happening.

Sure thing! Suggestions?

I no longer care about proving anything to anyone, since all that matter is if we beat Keiko or not. Let them draw their own conclusion.
