[X] Action Plan: A Few Days to Do Things v1.0

The following will take place over the course of a few days, barring major interruptions or dangerous situations.

R&D with Kagome(20% time awake)
  • Jiraiya can help as he wishes.
    • Quality bonding time between sealmasters.
  • Research: Casino Seals. If finished somehow early, start work on extra large storage seals.
Training from (30-50% time awake)
  • Do that spar with Asuma
    • Punching!
  • Train with Mom.
Relaxing (20% time awake)
  • Lunch with Ino
    • Apologize for the Orgy Misunderstanding
      • We have no idea how people came to this idea
    • Talk about how training is going
    • Its nice having Hazō's mother home
    • Hazou's thinking of taking up music again, actually.
  • Quality time with Mom
Misc(10-30% time awake)
  • Refill our seal loadouts.
    • Spend evenings each day doing this for a couple hours at least.
    • If finished, do some explosives and spend time on other things.
  • Try to track down info on any potential opponents in the tournament.Bloodline info, etc.
    • Priority order: first round combatants,non-Leaf ninja, Leaf ninja.
      • Ask any Leaf ninja who participated in the exams to see if they saw/observed anything.

IMO it's fine if you disrupt the plan for items of importance. However, we quite simply can't plan for the unexpected. We're just trying to move time forward to the next important thing so that we don't end up spending a year or more on an in game month.
 
So who is up for shutting down this quest and making a new one named "Hiashi Conquers the World with Blackmail"?

To elaborate on Enjou's comments with my own thoughts:

Right now we're, to an extent, marking time until either the tournament or the next Surprise Interrupt!!!. We can mark that time by either writing out day-by-day plans and trying to milk short-plan XP and/or stay responsive to developments or by saying "yeah this is what we want to do, wake us when something explodes."

I feel that writing day-by-day plans isn't really helpful on anything but a munchkin "let's beat the system" level. They're good if we want raw XP or if we believe the QMs are going to do something terrible if we lack agency during X development, but aren't really good for the thread's goal of "have a successful/productive month before the tournament starts"—at least if we want that goal to be achieved in anything resembling a reasonable real-world timespan.

This reminds me of the same dilemma some of us had during the Chuunin Exam events. Some disliked how long it took IRL and wanted it over with faster but with the power of hindsight and the ability to binge read all events at once, it turned out to be a good choice not to rush this.

I imagine this month will be looked upon the same way and I for one am quite thoroughly enjoying every bit of it and would even like to see more character interactions in fact (more Hana/Hazou bonding, Noburi/Hazou being bros, Team Uplift/Rookie 6 + ISCI have not forgotten their duplicity just hanging out some).

Once we are back in Mist, there probably won't be any time for this even though I am still hoping there will be some majorly awkward family reunion dinners in the Kurosawa/Mori/Wakahisa estates at some point.

I interpret this as more of a "We will not be able to fit all these potential scenes into one update." which is totally fine.

If theres a particular scene you want to write (say, the Ino Lunch one for example) I'm sure you can bargain with EJ on it and we can just get access to them non-linearly, like a lot of the post-Event 5 Mist Wrap-Up. I don't think anyone would be super opposed to this.
 
I am okay with many things being off screened, but what do people think about putting some plan interrupt clauses?

Replan if: Something important happens wrt. Jiraiya and the Hat, we are given some sort of mission, a critical flaw has spiraled out of control as it always does for some reason, etc.

There is a reason I suggested we think about how Noburi would handle this.

Acting like we've fucked up and need to apologize will not improve her opinion of us. It will confirm her low opinion.

EDIT: The only thing we could possibly have to apologize for is getting caught off guard. We should not apologize for the rumor happening in the first place.

I honestly think you are overestimating how mad she really was once she had some time to reflect on things. But maybe that's just me finding the double entendres in that paragraph hilarious, and therefore non-threatening.

Possibly overstating rather than overestimating. I was using the term from her own inner dialog. However, it does frame the way she's going to look at it.
As I see it, being apologetic will be at best neutral, at worst it will reinforce some negative thoughts she's been having. Proceeding with confidence seems like it could get some positive points by showing that we can be what she thinks we should be.

And I think that the best way to project confidence in this case is to act like it doesn't bother us. Treating the situation as funny will help with that.

I do not see checking out the Akatsuki book as a relaxing activity.

Can we get this somehow weighted in order of importance/what we don't mind having offsecreened?

Because essentially I wouldn't mind any of those offscreened to make room for onscreen scenes with Hazou and Hana training in the Kurosawa arts.

I would like to state for the record that none of the QMs have made or endorsed this assertion.

Edit: Also, based on your record of trying to get this book so far, it's almost certain that Tobikomi Jibura has a copy.

Edit 2: No, I am not officially confirming that he is an Akatsuki agent.
