You can't fool me. You just want to grind TYS points.
But just imagine all the horrifying things you'll get to write and how much you can traumatize the kids!

e: Besides, if beating up over 50 ninja in a matter of hours isn't enough to get Thousand Yard Stare points, we have to get creative. So, this.

[] Hazou et al spend a day with Ibiki in T&I for "Bring the dictators children to work day"

So, if we're to visit with Neji and Hinata, it has to be spur of the moment, in training clothes. We're not gonna be able to play the Hyuuga's game when it comes to politicking so we have to avoid it by making the approach casual, so that any offense given is "ignorant outsider" rather than "'intentionally snubbing us' outsider".

Even if it's "spur of the moment" it shouldn't actually be spur of the moment. This is dangerous waters, and we should ask J for help basically whenever we want to approach any political player until Hazou-the-character is an actually-not-terrible politician himself.

Well, yes. But in short, we want it to come across as not-a-political-maneuver. We can subtly indebt Neji to us further by getting him out of whatever punishment he's in (hopefully), apologize to Hinata for how roughly we treated her during the exams and make sure she's healing well. We can also make the excuse of not wanting to seem like we're overtly spying on her while she's training by visiting her during training with Team Kurenai or whatever.

Courting Hinata and Neji is a terrible idea in general. Trying to court Hinata when Noburi has to fight her in the first round is very risky

If we get a thousand TYS points, can we get a "million yard stare" ability where everyone within ~900km of us just gets this unsettling feeling whenever we use anything related to TYS abilities?

Though, if we survive enough experiences to get 1000 points, everyone in the elemental nations should be permanently unsettled...

Your concerns are noted, but I do not share them.

You don't think Hinata will be trying desperately to recover the face she lost in the 5th event by crushing team uplift in the tournament? Don't get me wrong I'm not opposed to playing psychological warfare with her. But she's definitely going to try to manipulate us as much as possible. We just need to be very deliberate with anything we do with Hinata

It gets harder to get TYS points the more you have.

If we ever have TYS 1000 then it means we have been to the warp, battled our way through the domain of every chaos god, fought our way into the webway, burned Comorrogh to the ground, fought our way through into the Emperor's throne room, slaughtered the entire Imperial military and the Black Crusade that happened to be attacking at the time...

And then went and saw something worse.

TYS points represent experiences so bad they make you resistant to lesser horrors. You don't get them for curbstomping someone.
Not even curbstomping 50 peers? "I'm so badass I took on 50 chuunin in an hour [not actually but badass boast], you don't scare me"? I guess it doesn't really compare to taking on several jounin or watching a boat full of civilians blow up, true.

In another universe
Event 5
Round 2
Lethal YES!

*Sounds of screaming as idiots run into the trap perimeter*

+2 TYS Points

If TYS points were earned through achievement, they'd become just another way of making strength scale with experience.

Curbstomping your opponents in battle is not a horrible experience.

Watching your opponents not taking your words seriously and getting themselves killed is.

Yeah, fair point.

Easiest way to get TYS points it to take a trip to T&I, I guess.

e: Wait, would that even work? We've already been to T&I.

Yeah but have we chilled out with Ibiki?

IBIKI: And thats how you get three idiots to spill all their secrets!

HAZOU: shudders violently

NOBURI: That's fucked up.

KEIKO: Fascinating.

Would T&I be more terrifying if we had the department merged with logistics? Something about the notion of being taken to the Torture, Interrogation & Logistics department just sounds scarier to me, for some reason.
