Leaf gets thrown out of the exams and forfeits its entire deposit and we've disgraced Jiraiya who almost certainly loses the hat for his demonstrably poor judgement in picking us for his clan. Massive fail.
Not worth the risk.
Okay, lets clarify here:
The point of taking the game theoretic approach is to make this outcome literally inconsistent by (1) making death guaranteed should our adversaries fail to gtfo, (2) making it very easy for them to gtfo, and (3) ensuring everyone has mutual knowledge of this state of affairs.
This of course assumes that given 1, 2, and 3, we can bank on the fact that
no one will willingly choose to die, and thus we can just collect all the points. This is a safe assumption, as every contestant here has already been given more than enough opportunity to suicidally attack us if that was their aim.
I will grant that, of course, without adequate planning we can fail to accomplish one or more of those tasks, but as we have not yet discussed
how best to accomplish those tasks in the first place, I believe preemptively declaring "we can't possibly do it" is just an inadequacy of ambition.
TLDR: "But what if not 1/2/3?" is not a valid rebuttal.
