Would us not being in the area when everything goes down be a sign of suspicion, as it would be clear that we are to some degree aware of what was going to happen?

*sigh* Alrighty then time to die.

[Χ] Action Plan: Suicide Bomber Start.

Hazou's going to activate an explosive tag and unseal a stupid box. He then maneuvers himself such that he is at the center of the crowd when the explosive tag/stupid box combination detonates. Creating a massive inferno that kills pretty much everyone in the area.

*Hits faflec with a rolled up newspaper*

Bad! Bad faflec! Have you learned nothing about joke plans? Do you wish to repeat the youthsuit incident?

Yeah, what if @Radvic or @Dark as Silver see this?

Hazō activated the seal. In a matter of seconds, the area became enveloped in dense, intoxicating mist. Holding his breath, he stepped out from his hiding place and began to move out.
Our current situation. We aren't hidden by the pillar but we are hidden by the mist, so if we wanted to join the stampede or tunnel away I highly doubt anyone would notice. Joining the stampede is bonus anonymity but will likely pop our henge, fleeing saves us from getting DQ'd but if most ninjas lose their henge then all remaining ninjas become suspicious by default.

No, they don't. Shirotsuma the Harlot gave us (and some other genin) the excuse to leave the herd and into the hedge maze by loudly announcing she was leaving before the tipserator or the explosion triggered.
If we can substitute ourselves into that direction, go underground and come back up somewhere in the hedge maze we shouldn't be suspicious at all.

Does this seem about right @eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail:

Here's a more zoomed-out version:

This is not an Action Plan.

/me starts thinking about what to do with an extra 8 hours on Sunday...focus on harp? Professional skills? Just take the day off...? So many choices!

Reiterating that we need to let ST Leaf know what's going on.

@Velorien @OliWhail @eaglejarl Where is ST Leaf relative to the maze?

e: Oh, based on the picture that was posted simultaneously with me, they'd be real close to it themselves.

Still gotta let Superteam Leaf know what's going on or they'll get caught with their pants down when Mist comes knocking.
Do we really though? I thought they were mostly gathered behind where the targeted crowd was in this picture. They should be safe

We don't strictly need to leave the general area. We just need to get out of the danger zone discreetly enough not to be noticed. We can pretend to be a bit drunk to the degree everyone else is, and we should smell like booze like everyone else too, proving we were in the booze cloud. They'll have proof of nothing.

If the proctors try to DQ us based only on suspicions, we can threaten to lodge a formal protest using all of their blatant attempts to sabotage our team as ammunition. Is it worth it to them to DQ us if it will cause Ren political headaches that are their fault?

I notice that I am confused.

How is he in danger of trampling if he's that far away from the door?

Why? Our first priority is to escape and give ourselves an alibi first, then we can think about linking up with the rest of the team. But then again, Hinata is with them and she isn't dumb enough not to check what is going with her Byakugan.

ST Leaf is in the north-east corner, as far away from your location as it is possible to get while still being on the grounds and within an indoor area (a marquee).
