Wat?
Wat?
No, see, it's perfect, the civvies can't blow themselves up because they can't infuse it!

@eaglejarl @OliWhail @Velorien I understand if this is a flat "no" kind of thing, but I had a thought on a way that Hazou could use his seal-copy bloodline spookery: He can copy any seal/blank he sees after a few seconds of looking at it, right? Can he determine whether he's copied that seal or seal blank before and remember when/where he did? More accurately, does he have mental access to when he performed a given action?
If yes, we could start up the Civilian Sealing Corps with Hazou at their back, spending just a few seconds to look over every seal blank they create and determining which are good by comparing it to the accurate-seal he has in his memory.
I wonder if we could teach civilians Theoretical Sealing, where they learn how to create sealing languages, and research new seals in purely theoretical format, in order to make seal research notes that sealmasters can use to more easily develop the seals that the theoretician was working on.
Sort of how, I can technically figure out how to write a program with some programming textbooks, and pen and paper, without ever touching a computer. And then I give my notes to someone that does have a computer, and they type in my program and go through the process of debugging and refining it.
Feel free. Just remember, it'll count as a major timeskip...I wonder if we could gaslight the QMs into thinking all of that happened?
Not all of those are in fact Minoris. I mean, I think one of them actually is Minami.
Are you factoring in the basic advantage of ranged combat, namely immunity to counterattacks (which are a thing FtD has)?
It's also been a while since she's been in heated combat at all. Since Arikada, if I'm not mistaken.and, frankly, it's been a while and a lot of XP since the last time she dominated a fight with her ranged attacks.
Or Mina, probably.*sigh*
If Hazou ever has a daughter, he's going to name her Minori, isn't he?

We're trying to coordinate a major push on Saturday to get all the outstanding issues hammered out and then hand the whole thing to you guys to break it every which way.Yeah, don't be silly: Mari's going to name her kid Minori.

@QMs: Any updates on the rules for us to look over?
On a related note! Is this still accurate?A few facts about the FW seal that you can trivially acquire from Kagome:
The seals that generate it are not inherently fixed in place. They need to be anchored to something, and they need careful alignment in order to function. If either one is moved even slightly the wall will fail.
The wall needs to form in clear space. Any significant solid or liquid in between the seals will cause the wall to not form. The GMs are discussing what the appropriate limits on this are. So far we know that smoke won't interfere but dust / bugs might given sufficient density. Suggestions about appropriate units for this are welcome.
The edge of the wall is extremely thin and tends to cut through things that encounter it. Things like ropes, poles, and shins. It isn't completely 2D, so it is *possible* to rest something against it, but it is highly contraindicated.
The wall is invisible, so knowing where it is is non-trivial. Stepping up on a horizontal wall is definitely doable, but you want to be careful. Climbing up on it (i.e. gripping and pulling yourself up) will cost you your fingers.
The wall isn't frictionless. It's about like modern glass as far as smoothness goes.
In theory you could form an air- or watertight seal between two force walls. In practice you can't because you can't align the seals closely enough.
The stuff with the ranch seems perfectly sensible.I would just like to inform the QMs that we're making plans for Chakra Beast Ranches for Noburi to oversee to fuel Shadow Clone Training, made with iron sheets aided in creation by Force Walls, welded together (with some sort of ninjutsu; maybe our boy Haru's lightning technique?), and 5SBed.
You know, just so you guys know what we're up to. Wouldn't want to leave you out of the loop.
On a related note! Is this still accurate?
Wonderful. If this period of interludes continues for long enough, we will make the QMs retroactively resolve all of our current issues by voting-in interesting prompts good execution of which requires it. Achievements so far: established grounds for improvement of relations with the Minami clan, significantly improved relations between Keiko and Shikamaru and Keiko and Tenten, resolved Noburi's unrequited crush, established grounds for polyamory with Akane and Ino, got Mari and Jiraiya's marriage approved by the rest of the Sannin — these are only the most notable ones. We also now have some important information regarding Sasuke, Naruto, Naruto's current likely condition, Snow, Tsunade, and Zabuza.
Yesss!
...
[x] Mari finds out she is pregnant.
How much time has it been? Could this work?
I think it could, yes. I'm not too inclined to go this way though -- not saying we won't, just that I'm disinclined. Hack male writers don't handle writing women very well, and so there are two easy plots you see a lot: rape, and pregnancy. I know Velorien is better than needing to do that, and I'd like to think I am.
In any case, rape is off the table as far as my pen is concerned, for many reasons but first among them is "because ick." Second among them is that a seduction specialist presumably know how not to get pregnant and "doesn't want kids" is a thoroughly established part of Mari's character, so it would be all too easy to say that she's getting pregnant in order to trap Jiraiya. That's a little more cynical and manipulative than I would prefer to think of her, and I don't know if it would work anyway. .
[x] Team Goketsu finds out Mari impregnated JiraiyaIn a world of ninjutsu and sealing failures, there is an easy solution to the problem.
[x] Mari finds out Jiraiya is pregnant.
The bottom line is, we must try extra hard to break the new rules. The longer we're not in the main plot, the better our situation would be once we return.
