right, new plan.

send Noburi out on a(genuine!) scroll hunt with Mari, Kei, and Yuno. we can probably get this approved. Naruto dosen't think this is Noburi going missing, because Hazou and Kagome stay behind.

In two months, when Hazou's TH training is done, we grab Kagome and book it, linking up with the others.
I was actually thinking yesterday about sending Noburi along with the Kei/Yuno chakra beast mission, for similar reasons (it's not suspicious for husband and wife to go out on mission together, especially with treason dragon Hazou still at home, and it gets him out of Leaf ASAP), but even with this I'm not sure we can afford to delay a full two months. It's more suspicious, I feel, if Hazou goes out on a second scroll hunt while the first one is still ongoing and tying up key personnel.

This post feels like it came straight from 2018.
What does that mean?
What kind of "happy medium" based on interactions with Leaf clans can there possibly be in a world where any negociations with Leaf institutions will be made irrelevant in a matter of months ?

We tried to join the Minami exchange because we saw value in it. We seem content to have backed away from blowing up the Hyuga deal for cash. We advised Naruto to use the Tower for the sale of the diamonds used for the election. And we accepted dealing with the Tower while still being very aware it's compromised. That doesn't seem like players have wrote-off Leaf in a matter of months.

EDIT: this even gives us 2 months where we have to option to have a messy breakup with Ino, thus protecting her from retaliation.
Alternatively, Hazou tells Naruto that they stopped checking in and he wants to go find them; Kagome is coming because he'll go insane from worry otherwise (this is probably not a good thing). It buys us additional time where Hazou and Kagome have "known" locations, but we'd need to do something about whatever additional units Naruto assigns to us, as I can't imagine he doesn't for such a high-level group.

The post you're replying to is questioning the point of bringing Leaf as a whole around philosophically or politically (NB: This is a very high bar to clear IMO) when Leaf will likely be made irrelevant (with respect to the overall setting) in the coming months if it hasn't been already.

This is extremely disingenuous when you consider there are 35 votes when you combine leave now and and leave with conditions. The thread is clearly in favor of leaving we're just split on the timing

As a note, this is also potentially disingenuous as the bulk of the 'leave now' and 'leave with conditions' voters are the same people.

(Edit: Whoops, this point has been made multiple times.)

If we could manage to guide Naruto into sending, say, a squad of experienced chunin beatsticks as backup, we could have Mari mass-genjutsu them into believing the party was ambushed and that Hazo & and Kagome were kidnapped. Hazo could lead them to the "rendezvous point" where disguised Mari SC's nonlethally take down the party and fake the evidence, copy Akane's killers behavior, ect.

Then they'd return to leaf and there'd be a (fruitless, of course) manhunt, and Hazo wouldn't even be missing, but "taken by some mysterious enemy". Heck, since Naruto doesn't know about TlitF mass genjutsu, he might actually believe we've been taken.

Apart from the illogical nature of the enemy nonlethally taking down everyone, I think this is a reasonable plan.

Hmm, we could send both Mari and Noburi with Kei and Yuno? Then Hazou and Kagome could leave on a research trip (they've made plenty of these already). Then just meet up somewhere coordinated via 7th Path

You are misrepresenting me.
You are literally doing a similar mathematically-incorrect comparison directly above the quoted portion of the post that compares the numbers between "leave now" and "stay" directly before saying "and it seems like the thread is inconclusive on this issue" to serve as motivation for the conclusion.

You didn't respond to the general point she made (though she also fucked up the numbers in the opposite direction) about this.

Making a mistake or accidentally presenting something flawed is fine, it happens. Dancing around it like you are doing right now, is in fact a fair bit disingenuous.

Do you not see how our opponents also trying to win is significant when they are that much better positioned then us?

It doesn't need to be winnable to be rational, but if you're against truly overwhelming odds that you are not remotely equipped to face then the quest cannot be both rational and winnable.
FWIW,

1) Winnability was not considered as a factor during the design of this quest (if you'll recall, we didn't even expect you to survive the year, never mind set global objectives)
and
2) I personally believe the quest to be entirely winnable

With the screams of innocent players as my lullaby.

I don't think it's plausible that he'd be able to do that if we're meeting him on the Seventh Path through a Shadow Clone while Kumokogo is sitting next to Hazou Prime ensuring nothing bad happens to him.
Oh mb, I think the conversation got ahead of me. I thought that he was meeting us on the Human Path.

EDIT: Hunting us down, bleh.

Oh. I see Leaf as a resource that the core current Uplift can get more usage out of and a possible extension of team Uplift with the right incentives. I'm also not quite ready to dismiss Leaf just yet in terms of powerscaling since I was pleasantly surprised by team Guy (with assistance). I'd like to think the the clans, even in their weakened state, can be of use to team Uplift and the coming apocalyptic scenarios we're dealing with. One example of this that I've mentioned before was the Leaf sealing team that gave us HOWS. Their collaboration was useful even though they first appeared to be a bunch of fussy egg-heads.

How does this stop Akatsuki from steering the setting into a cliff the next time Nagato gets a visit from the good idea fairy and decides to perform a ritual to seal all chakra into a giant tree?
