Given that we have decided to visit this location, is there additional information we'd be privy to, like known weaknesses of critters or obvious strategies for clearing the cave out?

Is the proposed strategy of "use misterators to mass kill the inhabitants with chakra drain, and smoke to flush them into range with Noburi" doomed for some reason we would know about? The caves could be well ventilated for example. Etc.

Are there any enemies here of special note we should be aware of?
Orochimaru described the creatures within as "not very strong", though he comments that due to their various strange chakra beast capabilities, his team elected to use summons heavily. There are numerous detailed beast descriptions.

Orochimaru's notes do not describe the caves as well-ventilated, though there are several entrances and exits.

Do we know roughly when he visited the cave? There's a big difference in "not very strong" to Orochimaru 5 years ago versus 25 years ago.

A bit of a peek behind the curtain as to how the QMs usually process player questions.

EJ: Urgh. Tired, low-energy. Bleh.
@Velorien: Far too occupied with my exciting romantic life!
@Paperclipped: Hi guys! I gathered up all the questions from the thread, wrote out suggested answers, and put it all in the QUINOA doc for your approval! Now I'm off to do parkour, cure cancer, prevent the AI apocalypse, and give toys too all the good boys and girls! Wheeee!
EJ and Vel: *exchange looks* How in the world did we get lucky enough to find him?

Another peek, this one referring to the current "all research all the time" arc which requires a ton of mechanics work from the QMs on runes and seals that will probably never be used. This was stated in Discord but I don't think was brought here:

Concerned Player: Hey, if you guys aren't enjoying this there are things we could do.
Velorien: Not particularly, but Paper is doing all the hard work, meaning the mechanics stuff, so eh.
EJ: Not super excited but Paper is doing all the hard work, meaning the mechanics stuff, so it's fine.
Paper: Not super excited but the other two are doing all the hard work, meaning the writing, so it's fine.

Is Bio-argumentation (mentioned in Oro's and Tsunades notes) a thing Nobby can do now? Can we just create our own chakra beasts?
Nope, Noburi can confidently tell you that he cannot create chakra beasts (nor would he want to).

Can we add [Cansaku] to Hazou's sheet?
If you're willing to take his deal (and commit to scribing time for the Force Claw seals needed to maintain that contract), you should vote it in as a plan.

Can we get an FP update on the last few chapters? Hazou ended 665 with 3 FP, should have refreshed back to 4 in 666, spent another FP in 670, then refreshed back to 4 in 671.
Sure, but not going to do a detailed accounting. Just ticked Hazou back up to 4 FP.

Does Hazou think [the singlecosting or Biosealing under Sealing] the extent of the crossover bonus between Biosealing and Sealing?
Hazou thinks he would likely see some skill transfer as well, as with Sealing and Primordial Sealing.

Did Hazou figure out a way to use Roki on quadrupeds? Or was this ultimately not possible?
It was ultimately not possible.

Then may I confirm whether the defensive perimeter around our missing min-base that Hazō and Kagome set up would be able to kill an attacking jōnin?
Could kill an attacking jōnin? Certainly. Would? Depends on the area, the seals used, the jōnin, and many more factors besides.

Has Kagome finished reading the Jiriaya textbook and Orochimaru Sealing notes?
If Hazou asks, Kagome will say that he's still learning from Jiraiya's textbook, though he gets precious few chances to read it these days since he's doing sealing research non-stop.

If we asked him to do a jounin-level seal that we have research notes for, would he be comfortable doing it? I am thinking of Banshee Fuckers specifically, he has veterancy for that in the form of Earbusters, and a couple other sound affecting seals (Silence Mines, SSSA), and we have the research notes from Jiriaya's Sealing horde.
Kagome would be comfortable with that.

Did Noburi clear his Medical Stagnancy barrier at 11500 XP by working with Tsunade on developing new Stunts for his bloodline?
No, he cleared that barrier by healing Yuuma when he was pulled out of the caves, and in assisting in Yuuma's surgery.

Also can we still suggest more Stunts for that or are submissions closed?
Suggestions are still welcome.

Is the Rift necessary for this research? Or can we successfully research the runes without it and come back to test our work?
As previously noted, testing seals/runes is a required part of seal/rune research. Without any rift to hand, Hazou cannot tell whether or not his seal/rune tests are successful to guide any subsequent research rolls (regardless of whether or not a seal/runic failure is caused).

Oro didn't have access to a rift to do his research....right?
HDK.

Did Hazou take the opportunity during this week to use Shadow Clones to do limited FOOM with the team's regeneration?
No. By tapping a tiny amount of the team's excess chakra if they were full (so that no one was ever too low on chakra), Noburi is managing to keep his reserves at full. There's not enough to spare for additional training for Hazou unless you want to start cutting into Noburi's ability to effectively train.

Or to read notes in the evenings?
That's fine.

Also, do all of our teammates have sufficient RRBs, and Force Blades for a combat or two?
Yes.

More like 30 years ago.

Maybe Oro's first rift rune is the reason that the Bladehorror rift appears to have been active since we left it sealed up. And then he carefully returned it to its original location

"I have used it to turn an enemy's internals to mulch.
"I wonder...you can push chakra into a person by touch. You think you could use it to disrupt their own internal chakra? Could be a good way to keep them from using jutsu, or maybe even boosting. And maybe you could affect their muscles, make them go limp or cause spasms that have them fall down. Very hard for an opponent to fight when he's in the middle of a seizure."

Noburi's face split into a smile. "That sounds very interesting, ma'am."

"You'd have to be able to do it fast, just on a brief touch instead of needing to grab on. If you manage to restrain someone with your Whip then you don't need fancy medical tricks to kill them."
@Paperclipped and also @eaglejarl and @Velorien I guess. This is my attempt to give Noburi the ability to use his MedNin stat directly, in a way that makes sense with what was shown in the chapter. I debated fluffing it as Noburi using his medical abilities to make the target's systems go haywire and otherwise do as much damage as possible, but I ended up leaving it as a mirror of how Tsuande described her own ability.

I was hesitant to propose this at all since it is a supplemental attack, but I figure it was worth proposing given the enormous limitation put on it. Plus, it just fit the ending of the chapter so well!

STUNT: Noburi's Special Touch
PRE:
(Water Whip 50, Vampiric Touch 50, Medical Ninjutsu 50, and Medical Ninjutsu 50) OR (Water Whip 50, Vampiric Touch 50, Medical Ninjutsu 40, Medical Knowledge 40, and instruction from someone with both Medical Knowledge and Medical Ninjutsu above 70 who employs a similar technique).

Noburi's Water Whip is able to impart highly-damaging medical ninjutsu with a single touch. Upon making even brief contact by succeeding in a Water Whip roll, Noburi is able to make a second roll with either a medical technique (such as Pain Induction) or directly deal damage by spouting chakra scalpels and rotating them inside the target's body. If Noburi elects to do direct damage, make an opposed Medical Ninjutsu roll against the target's Physique. If the target suffered consequences from Noburi's initial Water Whip roll, apply them for purposes of this check.

This action consumes a Supplemental.

Dear players, especially @faflec , what has been previously stated regarding the team's height/weight/build/general description? I remember Jiraiya's notes and that Noburi is a couple inches taller than Yuno.

Kei was stated as average height for a tween at the start of the quest, but has bemoaned her (lack of) height since then. She was notably excited to grow taller by mere millimeters, which openly amused Hazou-the-character. So presumably Hazou and Noburi (along with the rest of her age group?) have surpassed her in height. She likely has corded muscles due to her high Physique, Athletics, and Ranged Weapons stats, but this has not been stated.

Noburi has always been described as vaguely "short but muscular." Once, Mari notably reassured Noburi by comparing his Physique to Jiraiya's, saying that his baby fat would go away and leave him as a muscular chad (my words, not hers). He recently punched a giant mushroom tree in Toad, and it left a hole.

Hazou has been noted to have a strong jawline, peircing blue eyes, along with taijutsu-sourced callouses and muscles (he had to hide them during the Chunnin Exams by holding his hands behind his back). Given the previous descriptions, he is, presumably, taller than both Kei and Noburi. Mari recently had to kick out the back of his knee so she could ruffle his hair. Hazou is probably of the the "tall, slender" build, with more muscle definition than bulk --though, perhaps, less defined than Kei's, given his stats. Hazou likely has dexterous hands due to the Iron Nerve, Calligraphy, and ES's physical components. Broke a hardwood desk by slapping it when we were investigating Akane's death.

My guestimations are as follows...
  • Kei is probably 5'0 - 5'3, depending on how much of her height-concerns are just internalized anxieties versus reality. Muscles that are more defined than bulk.
  • Noburi is probably 5'5 - 5'8. Vaguely short to slightly below average in height. Muscles that are notably bulky, given his descriptors.
  • Hazou is probably near or over the 6ft range, given his height descriptions in comparison to the rest of team Uplift. Thinner/scrawnier build than Noburi, but with less defined muscles than Kei.

Japanese average height iis different than Murica. Hazou would be a giant.
American male average height is 5 feet 9 inches. Japanese male average height is 5 feet 7 inches. The difference is exaggerated. And as noted, Mari was unable to reach the top of his head without making him bend down at least a bit. (For completeness' sake, 5'2" vs 5'4" for Japanese vs American average female heights.)

I have another couple proposals for Noburi stunts.

Vampiric Kiss
Research into the application of medical jutsu through his bloodline has revealed some more basic insight to Noburi as to how he may give chakra through water instead of merely drain it. With this stunt, Noburi is able to spend a supplemental to gift chakra to those in contact with him through a water-based medium (liquid water, mist, etc).

People Are Barrels I Can Borrow
Barrels can be so hard to refill and you can only carry so many of them around. Why not use Joe Jonin as a barrel instead? He is vaguely cylindrical and filled with what can be argued is water. With this stunt, Noburi can use an extra supplemental as part of casting a jutsu in order to fuel said jutsu with the chakra of someone in contact with him through a water based medium. This has the added benefit of allowing the jutsu to originate from the location of anyone used to fuel the jutsu.

I'm glad you liked it and thank you so much for this. In-depth reviews like these are incredibly spoon-positive.
Yay! I'm glad it worked as intended. I'm trying to get back into the habit of doing them and comments like this (or better yet, in response to specific things I said in them) help a lot!

I hope my ADHD thoughts weren't too spastic on the page; I kinda just put down everything going through my head.

Actually, her last growth spurt was sufficient to add a whole new shelf's worth of reach (thereby countering Shikamaru's carelessness in placing documents where she couldn't reach them).

SNOWFLAKE: Can you get my dress down from the top shelf again pleeeeeease? I need a TALL MAN'S help

HAZOU: If you can't reach up there why do you keep putting stuff up there????

SNOWFLAKE: ummmmmmm. Efficient use of space?

HAZOU: You had me at efficient
