[x] (Candoru) Yes. Respectfully accept him. Use all your might to— gently boop him in the nose with great speed should he interrupt you.

I like this plan, and thus voted for it, but are we sure we can actually do it? We're good, but we aren't Kakashi-level melee. This might be a test for us on the melee level, as well as personality. Do we even believe that corporal punishment is a thing in Dog culture, and is it gonna be a test of how well we treat someone we have been "allowed" to beat up?

Thought number two: it strikes me that there's potentially a reason we keep getting Gaku scenes (foreshadowing, perhaps?) and we should make sure there isn't a problem there.

Admittedly it could just be a convenient vehicle for exposition, but I'd like to consider having a frank conversation with him about subservience, how it's unnecessary, and generally try and communicate that we respect his area of expertise and while we may overrule his opinions, they're valuable and we'd like to hear them.

Ideally we would wrap it into a scene where we do make the public announcement to kill two objectives with one stone assuming we go forward with that. It's probably not major, but it's unlikely to hurt.

Clearly Gaku is a spy working for the enemy.

This seems like an acceptable level of violence. I don't think Cannai would go to extreme lengths to hide aspects of corporal punishment and such in their culture, undoubtedly these are present since this is the 7P and they all seem to have warrior stuff in some form.

It's just a nose boop, afterall.

On the question of "can"...

My answer is: Probably? Hazō is not Kakashi, but he is also no slouch and should be able to boop a newish scout that is clearly overconfident(as this is basically what this is about, I'm doubting their self-proclaimed ability to bite our leg off) in their own abilities, which itself signals some degree of "Not that veteran" => Not that high level.

But I suppose we can just see if the kid thinks he can, he's a better judge of his physical abilities than I am.

@eaglejarl based on Hazou's perceptions of the Dogs so far and how he's seen similar beings (chakra beasts) interact, does he get the feeling that this would be within his capabilities?

Doing so might open retaliation if a similar kind, given the boss summon's exposition about physical punishments
Sure, but my impression is that this is a solid but overconfident Genin doggo. Skilled but green enough that they haven't actually seen anything to make them doubt their own prowess.

In the quoted segment, I'm just leading up to asking EJ what Hazou's impression is here.

[x] (Candoru) Yes. Respectfully tell Candoru that you look forward to working with him

lmao forgot this quest had approval voting. We can boop later, if the need arises.

I have the same impression, honestly. I just worry that he'll respond in kind, and that Hazou won't be able to handle it without causing a broken bone or someth similar.

Hazō has not had enough interaction with Candoru to judge his level of combat ability.

Note that Cannai used he/him pronouns in reference to Candoru, in Candoru's presence, and the latter did not comment or react.

Hope Nara don't mind that we told the conservatives, Hyuga, that we are on good enough terms with nara for them to share Neji favorite foods

[x] (Candoru) Yes. Make clear that he will be the first Dog Clan member many people, and many distant summons will meet, and his behavior will shape those impressions.

I don't want to bet on physical impressions, but a bit of social now, and a bit of setup for being able to use other summons as good examples could be a good prod. "Neji never has to worry about Turtles starting fights."

[x] (Candoru) Yes. Be respectful but don't be afraid to use discipline if needed.

The way I see it , that means we need to go PUNCHING at some point to get Candoru killed against real opponents. That's good, it's been a while since there was punching involved.

Fighting him without knowing his capabilities is questionable at best. More so if we have to do it in the Seventh Path where his injuries would be permanent, thus disqualifying most of the explosives.

If we lost in front of Cannai, then we'd look like an overconfident puppy. Just like Candoru happens to be. And that's not a good impression to make.

... Huh. Just realized that it sounds like right now Dog Boss is the Boss summon uplift has the best chance of summoning in the near future. And that the Alpha might both enjoy and learn from being summoned in non-combat situations. Certainly, would make for a more lively games night.

Just so it's clear who's in charge.

I was thinking about what we could do with Candoru. First I thought about the chakra metal super-monsters I vaguely recall hearing about. Then I thought that it would have been nice if we still had access to Orochimaru's Tomb of Horrors. That made me think about the mindvirus that almost got Naruto, and THAT, finally, got me wondering whether that mindvirus would transfer to the "real" body, if it affected a summon's Human Path shell body. Scary stuff.

On another topic, Gaku's new title should be Consigliere. First, because of the direct comparison to the role as portrayed in Mafia movies, but second because I just learned from the wikipedia page that:
Consigliere - Wikipedia said:
The terminology of the American Mafia is taken from that of the Sicilian Mafia, and suggests that an analogy is intended to imitate the court of a medieval Italian principality. For example, Venice was led by a doge ("duke") and a consigliere ducale (advisor to the doge).

We, the Dog Summoner, are the Doge, and thus Gaku is our Consigliere.
