Go ahead! Nothing will go wrong. That's not according to any plans in progress. You will get everything you desire. Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle pointed at my hand? Come, let me clutch thee...
Yep.
No. Rope is much more labor-intensive to make. This [rope-making technology] is awesome. Is anything like this tech available in MfD?
I'm saying that the EN doesn't have technology that was invented in 1790 for making ropes. So, you're saying that the EN don't even have medieval level technique for making ropes?

What do you do?
Voting closes on Saturday 3rd of November, 9 a.m. New York Time.
I just don't get why people make real [X ]-type memevotes. Is the thrill of seeing one's joke in the vote tally enough to justify cluttering up said tally, potentially splitting votes and confusing new voters, and creating a non-zero risk of lethal disaster which has already been demonstrated? Also, we don't need the threat of a memevote as incentive to start making good plans.
I can't trace back the original discussion. Which technology are we discussing?Google suggests to me that medieval ropemakers are already using some sort of mechanical device to make ropes.
Interludes can strike at any time in any place. Honestly, I've been busy enough that this would probably have been a Lore Update even under normal circumstances.
Yes, and said devices might well exist in MfD -- you'd need to link me to them. Regardless, I'm willing to bet that said devices are not the same as the one that I said doesn't exist because it was invented about 700 years after the time in which MfD is set.Google suggests to me that medieval ropemakers are already using some sort of mechanical device to make ropes.

This will shortly be relabelled as an interlude, but I felt the point needed to be made (again). We have systems for joke votes, such as using [χ] or [jk]. Thus, I will treat any real vote as a real vote, irrespective of its content or how it came about.
Why would you call out my depressive symptoms like this??"If you refuse to help me with this," he said clearly, "then I'll have no choice but to figure it out on my own from first principles. Please take a second to think about how that's likely to turn out versus whatever damage you think you can do."
After a second, Mari-sensei sat bolt upright.
"The season's going to limit our options," she said briskly, "so we'll need to get creative based on what's available. Bring some paper, Hazō. This is going to take a flowchart."
Personally, I only real-meme-vote when there's no way the vote I'm making could gain traction, such as a derivative memevote which won't get as much attention as the original, and even then I only sometimes do it and am prepared to immediately unvote and oppose it if other people start voting for it.I just don't get why people make real [X ]-type memevotes. If you tallied with "User-vote updating" checked it was by a decent margin (because many people just gave me a blank check with their vote that cycle). If you didn't, it was close enough that the people who voted for [] eaglejarl gave Game Theoretic Coercion enough to win after he said "I'll take (other one I can't recall), failing that Game Theoretic Coercion." (despite user-vote updating not being checked off still and ignoring the other votes by approval voting...)
To prevent this in the future, let's not vote by approval unless we have a strict consensus on whether or not those votes actually count.
