Can we barricade other T&I facilities? Blue teams have to keep their facilities functional according to how T&I facilities normally function, and failure to abide by that is -1000 points. So can we show up, trap the place to high heaven and barricade all doors, and get them disqualified?

inb4 Mist rules that we were responsible and gives us -1000 points.

Ah, that make more sense. Yet I still feel that we should screw over all the other squads for the simple reason that we have to make everyone else lose hard, even if we're red side (making people score negative points is so critical).

Well the intent is that this way we also mercilessly crush the opposing color in round 1 (levy all possibly Moderate Consequences, chakra drain) so that they are cake in the next round.

Then in the next round we can just smash everyone up.

This may require more thought, though. You could be right on the points. It certainly depends on if we are paired with other high scoring teams.

I will write a program later that will try to simulate this and see if there's a good probabilistic way of doing this so we gain the most.

Okay, so I think it actually doesn't matter where we start:

Round 1: Play this honestly (adhere to the spirit of the event). Try to flawless victory vs all teams of the other color and then set up the battlefield for the next round. We can't just troll everyone of our color because we have to work with those assholes next round.

Round 2: Tableflip Central: here is where, regardless of what color we are, the optimal strategy is to beat the living snot out of all other teams of our color and every team of the opposing color. Of course, specific strategy with respect to that changes depending on if we are blue or red this round

I agree, but less because we might have to work with them next round, and more because we don't want to give literally every other team a reason to band together and curb stomp us. Again it's down to being machiavellian, don't attack and antagonize people unless you can destroy them thoroughly enough they'll never come back at you. Due to the nature of the event we cannot outright kill other genin, so it's best to maximize our point gain in the first round and do everything we can to hurt everyone else's' points in the second round.

Observation: This is never happening. Never ever ever.

At best Mist puts us with nobodies on our team and top teams as our opponents. At worst they stick us with nobodies and against strong-but-not-top teams, and stick all the top teams together vs nobodies. They want us gone more than they want those other teams gone.

inb4 Mist rules that we were responsible and gives us -1000 points.

As such, the blue team must act consistently with that simulation -- they must leave the documents reasonably accessible and the building sufficiently easy to move around in that it would be usable for a daily office routine.
Proctors decide if you have abided by the rules.

On the one hand, the rules clearly say that the blue team is responsible for that, and common sense says that of course invaders can't be penalized for wrecking things. On the other hand, they can easily rule that since it wasn't the blue team who did the barricades, they aren't responsible for it.

So probably a waste of effort compared to beating everyone else senseless.

Also, when defending we can pretend we sealed up the lockbox and have it on our person (while actually putting it under a fake floor or something (totally accessible, you just need to know where it is!)), forcing everyone to fight us if they want to win and allowing us to set up against that play.

If that's the case it's 100% going to be to our advantage not to fuck over our own color in round 1 from a Total Points Exam Wise perspective.

If we are on offense round 1 we need to ensure that offense wins round 1 so all the high scoring lads get negative points. Also win so handedly that the other color gets mucho consequences.

If we are on defense round 1 and the top scoring lads are against us, we need to ensure they all end up in a cell, scoring negative points. thus cooperation with the rest of our color is ideal.

For Round 2 it literally doesn't matter, we need to ensure everyone gets fucked over. We can put fellow Red Color people of different teams into cells and they'll still get no points.

Edit: This assumes we are given the n00b people on our color.

As a side note, this event makes Proto Plan: Glorious Coalition even more advantageous, as it's fairly likely we'll get stuck with the odds and ends. There's no way in hell Mist is gonna team us with full squads, instead, they'll hurt us by giving us a bunch of random nobodies from an assortment of minor villages all in the name of decreasing team cohesion.

FOLKS! Reminder - we still need to plan for before we get the rules IC. Default is... bland. And there's definitely more we can do.

Suggestions:
1. Nakano Ryouichi - Bring him on board as an ally for Team Uplift. Ask him if he's willing to prioritize helping us over trying to get himself to the exam, including sabotaging his own side. Promise to put in a good word with Jiraiya (good for his career), and promise to make him a good seal loadout after the event (monetary compensation).
2. Hazou makes some LSB and other blanks that are needed and have Jiraiya infuse them during the next checkin.
3. ASK Akane if she's willing to loan us some of her seal loadout. Make it clear they're her seals, and that she has the right to refuse. Seals will be paid back.
4. I have thought of a no/low-risk ambush plan. If DQed Leaf contestants are willing to provide chakra, Keiko can summon a Pangolin or two ~6 hours before the event starts, and we can send them into possible routes around the meeting area to ambush some people. Maybe have the pangolins focus on trying to track down one or two teams in particular?

ALSO, do we make any agreements with the other members of STL? For instance, if we end up on opposite sides in the same event grouping, what is our strategy?

Also, when defending we can pretend we sealed up the lockbox and have it on our person (while actually putting it under a fake floor or something (totally accessible, you just need to know where it is!)), forcing everyone to fight us if they want to win and allowing us to set up against that play.

The lockbox is too big to carry around. We can't put it in a storage scroll either - also too big for that.

While we are out wrecking places and faces, we should have a few clones left behind and doing office work. Just to prove that we shouldn't get the -1000

That's why we're pretending. If they call us on the lockboxes being too heavy for a normal scroll (unlikely in its own right), making XL storage seals is easy enough.

We convince them that we're carrying the lockbox and that they have to get through us to get it. Meanwhile, the lockbox is safely squirreled away under a fake floor where no one will notice it unless they take all of us out and systematically disassemble the facility.

Edit:
a large lockbox that is challenging to open, trapped, and heavy enough that it won't go into a storage scroll and it would be impractical to carry it any significant distance.
They're heavy, but not bolted down. We can easily move it from where it was left to a hole in the ground that we had one of Keiko's Pangolins dig.

What don't you follow?

If everyone on color Red gets jailed then they all lose points(net loss) this is assured.

If everyone on color Blue gets their docs stolen without otherwise gaining points, they'll lose points(net loss).

The point is that if we are a different color than the Top Scorers, and we work with our color in Round 1 to ensure that our color wins as flawlessly as possible, this maximizes point loss for the people we are trying to shunt down the rankings.

@Oneiros Thoughts on your plan:
Let all members of Leaf know we are preparing an assault
It's pedantic, but we're technically planning an ambush. Don't wanna miscommunicate.
offer Jiraiya created goo bombs if necessary to secure their support
I'm pretty heavily against this; we don't need their support and we know we're gonna be fighting each other (as discussed in the recent chapter update). Giving them ammunition is just asking for it to be turned against us.
If necessary bribe them
Trade, or pay, for them. Don't use the word bribing, it brings up Haru-like sentiment.
Summon every Pangolin Kei has chakra for
I'd argue to focus on the most powerful summons like Pankurashun or that one buffing Pangolin. Don't summon weaker Pangolins like Pandaa or the courier Pangolins; they're good at running messages but not at fighting/tracking.
Goal is to track enemy teams and engage if squad leader says go
I'd specify when they would, maybe say no if the team is too large to safely win or if other ninjas are nearby.

For the record, I'm still against the idea of splitting up into three groups since proctors could still possibly DQ us for making miniature meat grinders. But if you ask Keiko (and/or Shikamaru or Jiraiya) if it could lead to DQ via proctor then I'm all for it.

How are we going to make an easily accessible fake floor? Also, I remind you that there's a team with earth jutsu who could easily find it if it's low to the ground like that.

The plan: Get remaining contestants on board to hunt enemy teams.

Word Count 98/200

[x] Action Plan: Total Slaughter

Prep:
  • Let all members of Leaf know we are preparing an assault
    • If they want in we will provide full seal support and Summons
    • Chakra redistribution as well
    • offer Jiraiya created goo bombs if necessary to secure their support
  • Request Chakra from former Leaf contestants
    • If necessary bribe them
  • Try to get Akane's seal loudout
  • Summon every Pangolin Kei has chakra for
Strike teams:
  • Divide everyone into 3 teams
    • At least one tracker on each team
  • Goal is to track enemy teams and engage if squad leader says go
  • Pangolin telepathy to communicate
  • Noburi stays at secure location to drain victims after fights to replenish chakra

Reminder - ONE ON ONE is apparently acceptable to the proctors. A meat grinder is not. Further, this risks defeat in detail before we even reach the event, because we've split all the groups up. What happens if a group runs into a group of all 12 Mist genin? They're FUCKED, that's what.

Another question that is relevant - is eliminating a small number of people before the event even beneficial to us? Eliminating them in the event has the potential to actually cost the other side points.

Enjou is right, total slaughter is WAYYY too risky. On the extreme end, there's the risk of being outright DQ'd, or a strike team could find themselves outnumbered and crushed, or underestimating the strength of their opponents and getting crushed. No, it's too risky, and event 5 offers us a decent enough opportunity to get into the tournament all on it's own.

I really think we need to try and create some sort of detente with ninja from the minor villages or maybe even Sand. This will be one of our last chances to build positive relations with other villages during the Exams, so we should take it. We will almost certiantly end up on a team with some of the ninja from minor villages as well. There is practically no risk with reaching out to members of minor villages, but plenty of potential upsides. With the dossier leaks we've already painted an enormous target on many of the top performing and most dangerous teams, we do not need to put ourselves at risk in order to take them out.

Another reason that eliminating people pre-event might be bad - if there's any unevenness in things, and one team needs to have less people than others, guess whose team that will end up being...
