Is there a strong reason for doing things this way instead of using Living Roots and doing it in the middle of the crowd? Personally, I'd prefer to do that, as it's harder to trace to us, will cause more chaos, and reduces the chances of us getting caught when we emerge from hiding like a mole

Otherwise, you should probably add contingencies for "if something unexpected happens while there" as that would pretty much leave the third scene without anything to go off of should something happen, which tends to leave Hazou flat-footed.

Ignoring the need to get chakra from Noburi I worry that the tipserator would get noticed and we'd get caught. I mean, surely there's someone in the place with an anti-Doton technique.

I'm not sure we have the chakra for both actually. The mist isn't adequate cover so if we just buggered off there it would be semi obvious and a bit problematic.

Also it would put us at the epicenter of the event right beforehand, I don't think that's wise in case some proctor happened to be looking our way.

Yeah, I'm concerned about the amount of chakra we have available is why. In total that would cost 44 chakra minimum, possibly more depending on the duration we had to have HLAM active.

e: That said, any suggestions for contingencies? I'm not in the most, uh, thoughtful mood right now :p

To clarify: my intention is to go near a target (ideally Shin), whom we identify based on Hinata's pointing out and Living Roots. Be ~a foot underneath them, then just stick a hand up between their feet, release the Tipserator, and pull our hand back down. They'd have ~1 second to identify the hand and take any action. This actually provides less exposure to being seen than the current plan (which has us bringing our whole head out of the dirt). Additionally, by emerging our hand within the crowd, I think we're less likely to be attributed to an external threat like Team Super Leaf.

Ideally, we'd have another seal in our other hand ready to stun anyone who grabs our hand if they do. Yes, this would cost more chakra, but I believe it'd significantly increase the effectiveness of the Tipersator while also reducing the chances of getting caught. We'd need to get chakra from either Keiko, Noburi, or someone in Team Super Leaf. If we wanted, we could offer to frame the target of choice of someone who gave us chakra to pull it off.

Other contingencies include
1) how to mitigate political fallout within team super leaf should things go south (i.e. prepare our defenses ahead of time)
2) A strong cover story to generate if necessary
3) Actions to take if someone starts something before we release the tipersator
4) Actions to take if the proctors decide (external to tipersator stuff) to cancel the event because of Elemental Mastery shenanigans

My worry is mostly in regards to getting caught, and I'm not focused on the 1s that we use the tipserator. I'm worried that, as we leave, hypothetical-Shin will shout something like "A HAND JUST CAME OUT OF THE GROUND! THERE MUST BE NINJAS BELOW US!" or something; other ninjas may respond by using an anti-Doton technique like Doton: Kaido Shoukutsu which would reveal us.

I'm not sure that a hand out in the middle of a crowd is less exposure than a camouflaged head under a dark porch. Additionally, any time taken to identify a target is time we aren't doing this, and as shown in the pre-retcon update, people are likely to break off from the crowd. Lastly, even with Living Roots and a pointer from Hinata, I'm not confident in Hazou's ability to identify a specific person.

That said, good point on the contingencies: Can anyone format those for addition to the plan?

This probably goes under the first two things (mitigate political fallout, generate a cover story), though I'd probably also try to make things up with Akane. And in our defence, EM shenanigans shouldn't result in the Event being cancelled. I think.

A good way to reduce the political fallout from super team leaf is to have them do something to contribute to the plan. That way responsibility is shared
 
If I didn't have to wake up in ~6 hours I'd be on that.


Please *do* be careful about any last minute additions though.

Does Wakahisa draining through Mist break henge? If yes, would have been a good idea to drop a Misterator on the crowd and let the enemy Wakahisa drain them with compromised judgment due to being drunk.
