Hobby idea for Hazō: create models of legendary ships inside geodes. They're only visible if you break open the geode, so its almost the next level up from a ship in a bottle. This would also be a good way to raise a Craftmanship: Stonework or an equivalent if necessary for 3d sealing
Give out prizes if people manage to get three of the same ship, or a set of ships. Introduce the gacha system into the world and reap the sweet benefits.

Okay okay okay okay, we need to do this with famous Summons.

Ships might be seen as being too close to Mist, but we can get the permissions of Summons in a way we can't get the permission of (say) famous Leaf ninja. They're new enough that we aren't being disrespectful to a Leaf tradition by partaking in this, and there's no established industry to disrupt.

And then, from there, we can quietly release a rulebook for battling Summons. And release new Summons every now and again. I'm sure that the board game industry would be oh-so-happy to publish our rulebooks for a moderate cut of the profits.

Originally, I wanted to do Pokemon cards but with Summons, but this? I think this is better. We just need to find some retired/crippled Earth element nin with absolutely zero sealing experience and then convince them that this technique is worth levelling. ("You'll get to interview Summons and be an important part of transcribing their history!") From there, we have a production line, and we can make children want to come to school. Good grades in your GED? Here's a guaranteed A-rank geode. Consistent attendance? B-rank. And if we stick to Leaf's Summons, it's even patriotic, to say nothing about how I'm pretty sure that the Summons will all want to be revered by Leaf's children.

Hell if we get good enough, we can make Super Super Rare variations.

Oh you got the rare Dog Boss? Well check out this just released Dog Boss in holofoil. Oh hey you got the Enma? Well they just released an Enma in the festival variation for free if your grades are in the cut off (or mission amount, let's be honest even adults or ninjas or ninja adults might go for them)

Speaking of, what's the wargaming or skirmish scene look like? Could we make a Marvel Crisis Protocol or AoS Warcry type of game with summons? Heavily exaggerated and OpSec cleaned before publication of course.

I'll admit: I'm not really interested in making collectibles. If it were gated behind a Sanity check, a test (maybe seeing of Honoka and Hinabi like them), I'd be okay with a wider distribution if it were paired with something else (such as experimenting artificial chakra metal, or progress on one of our many projects.)

You know, Asuma said that he'd go through the trouble of convincing Tsunade to take Noburi and Akane as apprentices... but he didn't even mention the possibility of getting Orochimaru (a sealmaster) to take Hazou (another sealmaster) as an apprentice?

I can only imagine that Asuma is terrified of what fresh hell Hazou would invent if he's given a tutorship under Orochimaru. :p

Well that and unlike with the Tsunade thing, Asuma is not capable of convincing Orochimaru to take the time out of his day to take on Hazou as his apprentice.

He's probably more concerned that Orochimaru would vivisect his golden goose...

Why would we want to apprentice to Oro? We're already better than him at sealing than he is. We just can't draw pretty pictures

I mean, we don't have the Biosealing stunt, and probably lack the necessary MedKnow for it, so that's something he can provide, as well as actual bio-seals to research for veterancy.

Not that we necessarily want to go for biosealing, I suppose.

Also he might be worried that Hazou would quickly reach a limit to what he can stomach before turning the basement and the surrounding mile into a fine powder through copious amounts of explosives.

kabuto might be converting noburi to oro. i think that noburi even started out more favorable towards oro than the others at first, but later started oscillating in his opinions.

You and Asuma have very different definitions of "investing in Hazō". His includes Hazō surviving :p
While it is true that Orochimaru is probably the greatest sealmaster alive for another month or two, his lack of interest in working together, tutoring, or putting himself down at the level of others would make him a terrible mentor. Also, Hazō wouldn't want it either. Seals from Orochimaru? Research from Orochimaru? Quintuple yes. Orochimaru? Emphatic no

I've said from the start that Dark Lord Hazou would be its own entertainment >:3

Oro does seem to be interested in helping others learn though, as long as it doesn't take up his personal time.
Giving nob the jutsu as payment for dragons.
Mentioning leafs surgeons can learn from dissecting wakahisa.
Giving hazou research topic tips during board game night

This is totally at odds with the idea of mentorship.

If the Tower were going to try to lean on him our ask would probably be that they try to buy more sealing and medical notes from him, especially given that it's unclear what the mechanical impact of being tutored is: we know it can unlock stunts but that's about it.

Hazou, on a good day, is capable of making crazy stuff with only the occasional treasony bits. Having him learn from the OG-traitor-but-I'm-back-now-don't-worry-about-it-missing-nin is a threat to the safety of the world and plain good sense.
