That's 2000 XP invested elsewhere. It's a godsend for Hazou, whose build is so unbelievably fucked otherwise. It's accessible as soon as we have column space and don't need to finish boosting Resolve first. It's amazing.

That said. At a 3.0x rate, it takes about 143 days to generate that.

But Hazou has no use for these scales. Besides basic testing to see what can pierce them. We don't care about keeping them all. Or at least I don't. There's plenty more on the Seventh Path for harvesting anyway.

I give decent odds that his current plan is to get all the parts and then 'lose' them.
 
Ok the worst case for revealing we value 10 packets in future negotiations is.
We get less goodies in a future deal. But still positive sum if we accept.
We do no deal, because we changed our mind to value more than 10 packets. But still own the parts.

Not ideal, but better than risking all the dragon parts.

As for Kabuto insurance. I'll trust that such a discussion would take long enough that Mari will recover before we finalize insurance arrangements and make sure they are good. So

Pretty sure he expects to simply get them as a 'rental' and just not give them back.

Especially since he allowed us to go from a 4 week rental to a 2 week rental with no pushback.

Looks like my dreams of a four-way tie are dead. Normally those go pretty well.


Appeal:

I think Yet Another Set of Negotiating Parameters is likely to annoy Orochimaru and not meaningfully extract more reward from it. "Flexible on how many parts are in his possession at once in exchange for…" seems like trying to take advantage of him, especially given how much we are demanding for it, like we not even offering more time, just to be less annoying about it, why would he double the payment over that? This seems needlessly antagonistic, and therefore dangerous.

It contains nothing else on-screen, like To Sleep? Perchance not but unlike Take the Deal and Big picture items. I think an update that consists just of the latter half of this negotiation is not very interesting, that is unless it goes very wrong.
 
25 voters, wow. Nothing drives up engagement like an S class threat sitting across the table from you. Hint for the QMs, send more apocalyptic level threats 😈

EJ said that he'd be amicable to a one-scene plan and would be writing more. I can clarify 'then EJ writes whatever he wants' if you would prefer, but my understanding is that there will be more than one scene.

And, FWIW, my intention is that Hazo pitches 'one at a time' as a clarification of the original deal, not changing it.

Unless he's negotiating in bad faith right from the start, and is planning to keep them... But if that's the case, then I suspect that there's literally nothing we can do about it either way.

Honestly, if Orochimaru wants the Dragon parts enough to renege on a deal he's not going to be stopped (much) by us only giving him one part a time; he's going to exert...other means of getting what he wants.
 
oh shit, i didn't notice the "per part"; yeah, that is abusive (to the extent you can abuse an s ranker) and likely to piss him off, that could be sacrificed as a talking point, but if orochimaru shoving the notes in our faces is any indication i say he doesn't want to negotiate at all.
also, what about the money?

Like what? He can't force us to go to the Seventh Path and retrieve the parts. It's unlikely he's going to kick off a war on the Seventh Path to get them. If he meaningfully coerces us, then we go back to Tsunade, get Ami to involve Naruto, and then what happens happens.

The deal terminates if one is destroyed. 'per part' is there as a safeguard if we give him more than one at once. I'll clarify this.
 
So if we do one part at a time. And we are allowing other researchers to examine the dragon parts that Oro isn't. I'm wondering, what is Oro even paying us for? To examine the part in his lab instead of Leaf Hospital?

I am genuinely curious what means you think he has. He can aura blast Hazou and traumatize him into compliance. What else? He needs Hazou to go get them for him. Or travel to Dog and get them himself, which means fighting a Boss Summon on their own turf. Not the best plan
