For our dear QM's sake:
[X] Action Plan: Holy Rapid Deployment, Batman!

This is a version of Mission from God with us pushing to get us out and to safety as fast as possible without burning too many bridges. Puts a modicum of effort towards cementing Keiko's place as a religious icon.
  • Hazou and Akane pack up portable belongings during Keiko's trial, since we know we may have to leave quickly, and then begin refreshing store of tags and traps. Nobby on medic duty.
  • When Keiko and Kagome return, congratulate + heal + listen to Keiko
    • Save curiosity about summons for when we are in a secure location except for:
      • Making sure Pandaa knows the village raises tapirs, so it won't be a shock if he sees them
      • Check that the pangolins can get a message to Jiraiya via the toads. Don't send anything yet, since we don't know whether we want to give up any info without more discussion, but set up an information-based dead man's hand with Pandaa so that the village's location will be revealed to Jiraya if we get killed. This can also be used as leverage against uncooperative elders if needed.
    • Hold a quick group vote on whether to leave immediately, after a few days of healing, or after a full recovery. Hazou votes to capitalize on the upheaval + newfound position of power to GTFO.
      • If staying, push to relocate to open-air base (assuming it is still secure), unless we have access to pangolin earth-jutsu that would allow us to escape from being buried under the mountain.
  • Prep to leave
    • Keiko, backed up by Hazou and Akane, go to Takahashi for a very brief meeting. If he isn't determined for us to never return, establish secure codes with him to be used at a dead-drop, including versions to be given up under duress in case of a coup
      • Since he wants a different future for the village, offer to put him in contact with an official from the current largest power on the mainland who has dealt with us honestly. Give an alternate code set for this person if he accepts.
      • Probably let him know that the tapir summoning clan is apparently in a blood feud with the pangolins, as a professional courtesy, and about how the Azais reacted just in case he somehow missed it (seems unlikely, but gotta cover your bases)
    • Dealing with Yuno:
      • List for Mari:
        • Take Yuno on as a liaison, to tempt the Kannagi elder with the prestige of having the official delegate for the village be from his clan
        • Take her on without a special position, to avoid controversy over the official village delegate being a cursed child
        • Take her with us, framing it as an extended courtship period (to now be chaperoned by the prophesied summoner, or some other way of getting around that objection)
        • Escort her out and provider her with some level of education re: modern world, then drop her in a town of her choosing that seems reasonable and let her make her own way
        • Go through with the marriage, like, now, and then just have her come with, invoking the marital bond
        • If she doesn't want to come, of course, leave Yuno here
      • Hazou recommends:
        • Noburi meets with Yuno as normal, with Hazou+Akane backup. He quietly explains the full situation around the marriage as tactfully as possible, reassuring her that he and the other team members like her and want her to be happy, but cannot stay for Divine Mandate + personal safety reasons (mentioning the assault on our cave). Ask if she would like to leave the village with us, so we know there's a reason to go talk to the Kannagi elder. Make sure she is aware that as missing nin, there will be people hunting us - it will be even harder than normal ninja life, and we can't have her feeling we've hidden things from her.
        • If she chooses to come with:
          • Either via Yuno's minders or through the group seeking an audience as an official request from the new summoner, contact the Kannagi elder and offer to take Yuno with us as an official delegate from the village. Hopefully this will tempt him with a bit of prestige plus offloading his clan's cursed child.
          • Ask Mari to vet Yuno for any thus-far hidden issues as thoroughly as we can in the short time available (longer if the team votes to heal, but still not that long)
        • In case of a bad reaction, prefer nonlethal takedowns and have most prep for departure done ahead of this meeting
        • If Kannagi tries to insist we/Nobby have to stay even after the offer to take on Yuno in an honored position, Pandaa+Kei step in and insinuate he's a traitor for going against the pangolins' + summoner's wishes
  • Leave, citing our mission from the Pangolin Clan
    • (Courtesy of @Dictator4Hire) Ask Pandaa to give another speech with the following talking points as we depart, basically emphasizing that we really are leaving (prevent pressuring into a wedding) and calling the village to remain loyal to Kei. Solicit phrasing from other party members to accomplish those goals.
      1. Congratulations and thank you, loyal followers of Ui, you have guarded the scroll faithfully for generations and now the Pangolins have a new summoner. Before she leaves on her quest, by the powers invested in me by the Pangolins' leader, I declare today to be a holiday. Celebrate in the ways of your people.
      2. Starting today, our summoner will fulfill her duty by going out into the darkness to make way for the light! As for you, our loyal disciples, the Pangolins will never forget your labors. I give you one final charge as we gave to Ui's followers ages ago: maintain a safe haven for the summoner for she will grow weary in her fight against evil and will require rest.
      3. As our agent prospers, so too will you prosper. Her enemies are our enemies and her allies are our allies. Whoever should betray our chosen summoner betrays us and betrays Ui and all his works.
      4. (If Yuno is coming with us) The summoner has chosen a companion from among those of your village, as Ui before her chose companions. Yuno brings honor to her clan by accompanying this brave group of warriors."
    • If people from Inoue, Aida, or Azai obstruct our leaving and/or they are threatening violence, Keiko should inform them that if we die the village's location will become known to an ally of the pangolin clan.
    • Our destination is our old fort near Tonkai. Travel there as quickly as we can under henge, ensure it is still secure, and hole up/heal up. Get the healthy team members training and researching, and if Yuno is with us work on integrating her into group battle tactics
Security:

Stay together as much as possible
Once everyone's back, keep a rotating watch during debriefing
If someone tries to kill us again, set phasers to kill while getting the hell out
Restock as many explosives and traps as is feasible
Consume rations from our own stores

Questions, suggestions, criticisms, insults all welcome

E1: Included contingencies to avoid possible issues with Kannagi minders on Yuno/Nobby dates by going to the head guy.
E2: I'm an idiot, the whole village already knows about Kei
E3: Taking further suggestions into account and making actions more concrete + plan more plan-like rather than vague ideas. Many thanks, @Twofold
E4: Included some specifics for grandstanding right before departure, as well as a couple reasons for why to do things

They might be able to use that as an excuse to rush Noburi and Yuno's marriage if we aren't careful. By organizing the events we should be able to avoid a Hill Billy shotgun wedding. Hopefully they have some sort of loud music and/or festivals so that Yuno and Noburi actually get a chance to talk.

I have tried to get around this by having the speech and the conversation with Yuno be separate, so that we leave once we tell them to party.
Actually, they might be horribly offended by that... crap...

1) Inoue has just asked us for a List of potential options for the Yuno situation for the upcoming discussion about it, so I think you should include one in your plan. Just make that List, and then have Hazou recommend what you have right now as long as no one is seriously opposed.

2) Inform at least Takahashi (maybe even Aida Rin since she'd take it the most seriously) that the Tapir Clan are the hated enemies of the Pangolins, and ask whether they already knew that. Also tell him of the reactions of both Azai's.

Incorporated, excpet that we probably don't want to talk to the super isolationist Aida about how these foreigners are going to make the tapirs her clan is based on into creatures considered evil. Might be a touchy subject :V

I'm super glad we have another plan maker. Can always use more lists plans. :D

[X] Action Plan: Eaglejarl's Post is Canon

Party is whole, hale, safe and rested/resupplied. No mention of Yuno, because she was dealt with on our way out. If she wasn't... Meh. That's still worth 3 lost weeks and no XP to me.

Caught up now. This looks good.

Because the new guy has put in some stellar effort and has addressed most of my concerns.

Also I'd rather not have to deal with retroactively choosing on a course of action with Yuno. It seems unnecessarily complicated to me.

There is nothing stopping you from making a plan ya know. Join in the fun and stress!

You might like it! I certainly have enjoyed this quest more since I've taken a more active role in it.
It's stressful enough without making plans, I don't think I could handle the thought that my plan got the team killed. Believe me, I've considered it! :p

That aside, I don't really have the attention span to make or modify plans quickly enough for me to be happy with them.

I can't believe that people are voting for the guaranteed 0 XP plan. Do you guys really have that little faith in our ability to make survivable plans? Last time I saw this sort of un-youthfulness was when we handed our client over to murderers because we were scared of a little fistfight!

@OliWhail Few more things about the plan.

I think the list for Mari needs one of the ideas highlighted as Hazou's recommended course of action. Otherwise we are leaving an important decision to the QMs.

The idea of using Yuno as an ambassador/information gatherer of the village might actually work in her favor even if we don't subvert her to our cause. She would take on an important and risky task that takes patience and doesn't involve excessive amounts of bloodshed. This might be just the thing to make the village accept her (assuming she plays her cards right afterwards).

The meeting with Takahashi is an opportunity for us. He wants us to leave (or at least wanted). We should be able to run both our exit strategy and plan to deal with Yuno through him to see.

Also, we shouldn't put him straight in contact with Jiraya yet. We should talk with Jiraya about how he wants to move regarding this village, there's a chance that finding this village wasn't an actual coincidence. Besides, we ARE his agents; working as intermediaries is almost in our job description.

Here's how I would expand on the Takahashi meeting. You might want to edit this since I wrote it assuming we suggest taking Yuno with us for information exchange. I also tried to make the trading part seem tempting and note how they might get outed even if the villagers (or Takahashi clan...) do kill us.

Meet with Takahashi, get his help and make lay the groundwork for future information exchange.
  1. Invite him to us
  2. Make sure he still wants us to leave
    1. What is actually going on the village politics at the moment?
      1. Being cagey is prudent, but surely we have more to offer if he tells us what is actually going on
    2. Does he want us to leave and never hear about us again?
      1. Why?
  3. Setup a way to communicate for future trading
    1. Why they should still trade with us
      1. There's a chance that the village will be outed in the future
        1. Since the village unity has taken a big hit, there's a risk of them being outed to outsiders through deserters or splinter groups
        2. We found them so other might too
        3. Our boss might have known about the village already
          1. Or he might have sent someone to tail us OR check on us after we didn't contact him for awhile
      2. Trading for basic info with us carries less risk than dealing with the big villages
      3. Our help comes cheap
        1. Things we want
          1. Interesting ninjutsu and sealing knowledge
          2. MAYBE manpower for some projects
        2. Things we can potentially offer
          1. Basic information on Elemental Nation
          2. How the other ninja villages work
          3. How modern ninjas fight (from Mari)
          4. Useful ninjutsu
          5. Modern sealing knowledge (from Kagome)
          6. Modern accounting and logistics practices (a bit iffy, but didn't Keiko do something like this before the mission?)
          7. We ARE mercenaries, and not even half as incompetent as we seem
    2. One way to make the trade easy is to have us take Yuno with us, teach her practical knowledge about the outside world and then bring her back to teach others
      1. This also helps the village verify some of the things we share with them
  4. Get his help to leave
    1. Can he get us out of the village without fuzz?
    2. How does our current exit plan look?
  5. Get his help with Yuno
    1. What are the chances that our chosen course with Yuno will work?

That's probably not a perfect list but it's the best I can do for now. You might want to improve my formatting if you add any of that.

If you decide to incorporate any of these additions, I suggest you copy paste the voters of your plan from the last tally, so that they get pinged. It's good form to make sure that the voters know when you have made big additions.

Anyway, have a vote.

Better than leaving a potentially team saving idea from not being voiced. Don't worry if it's your plan that ends in ruin. It's just as much fault as everyone else who didn't make a better plan or offer suggestions to fix the fatal flaw in yours. We have chosen the best of a bunch of bad options before and we are all still alive now.

Hopefully he isn't; we have a lot to offer in terms of world knowledge, jutsu, etc. and secure friendly locations are hard to come by for missing nin, so in the long term this can easily be mutually beneficial.
      • Since he wants a different future for the village, tell him we may be able to put him in contact with an official from the current largest power on the mainland who has dealt with us honestly, if both parties agree. Give an alternate code set for this person if he accepts. Also point out that long-term contact with us would be a great route for village modernization
      • Probably let him know that the tapir summoning clan is apparently in a blood feud with the pangolins, as a professional courtesy, and about how the Azais reacted just in case he somehow missed it (seems unlikely, but gotta cover your bases)
      • Run exit and Yuno strategies by him in case of glaring flaws.
    • Dealing with Yuno:
      • List for Mari:
        • Take Yuno on as a liaison, to tempt the Kannagi elder with the prestige of having the official delegate for the village be from his clan, plus we can point out that ambassadors don't have to be involved in bloodshed to appease their bodily fluid taboos

Refreshing the page is different from writing up a plan. Writing a plan requires effort. But like I said, I've considered it, and if I feel that I have a unique enough perspective on things to be worth a plan in its entirety, I will be more than willing to write one, but for the most part I feel I'm better off suggesting improvements to plans.

If you're still awake, suggestion: Have Mari present for telling Yuno, and if she reacts violently, Mari should be capable of genjutsu to subdue her nonviolently.

Even incomplete plans can help out a lot and every perspective is unique even if it doesn't appear to be; don't sell yourself short.

No pressure though. Enjoy the quest as you see fit. <3

A quick note: from charsheet, it looks like first time summoning eats all Keiko's chakra but 1 point. Not really a concern given Noburi's presence, but something to keep in mind.

Say, "after summoning Keiko gets a chakra drink from Noburi"

That may have just been because of the trial, and Eaglejarl being kind to us with regards to even allowing us to summon Pandaa.

I would also like to reiterate the potential gamechanger that being able to store Noburi's barrels in the summon realm is.

That would be convinient. And taking seals into summoning realm is not a problem, so the only obstacle is how Noburi feels about letting a bunch of outsiders (heh) at his family secrets.

Yep. That aside, though, honestly, being able to smuggle and store seals elsewhere is utility all its own -- not to mention the potential ability to develop our own summoning seals for things in the material plane; I personally strongly suspect that's what Hiraishin is based on. Minato had access to a summon scroll to use, too, after all.

This can be our hammerspace, sort of. Slow, sure, and probably limited in size by what Pandaa can haul away, but still!
We could offer them the same service, at least for seals (we can't exactly cart around that much, and don't have a long term base of operations) -- assuming they use them. For whatever wars they engage in, in the seventh path, I'm sure the ability to surprise forces with seals or other compact supplies would be useful.

@eaglejarl @Velorien You've stated that Summons do not gain XP -- does this mean they do not get better at all, or is that independent of XP and on their own time? If we time skipped a year, would they still have the same skills?
