Ok, so hear me out. We make these contain large free response sections and hand them out to a bunch of individuals. Make up some Nara-ish reason about data collection for behavioral assessment and assisting preference optimization.

Everyone will think we're just doubling down on the joke, but really I just want signatures and handwriting samples from everyone.
Huh. Are there IN-specific forgery stunts? We need birthday presents

We have good Calligraphy because we need it to be a sealmaster.

We also have the Iron Nerve, which means once we use our Calligraphy skill to perfectly replicate their signature once we can replicate it perfectly every time.

I figure if we tried the QMs would put up a TN for completion and once we got it we could do their signature forever.

Just awaken the Sharingan or pay Sasuke.
Because we are civilized people.

Do we even know if Hazou has a dormant Sharingan? And do we even know if we can trust Sasuke? His regent kinda screwed us over once with the Hyuuga, right? And depending on the level of independence that the regent has --as in, to what degree he answers to Sasuke --then we might not be able to trust Sasuke. In canon he was all about killing Itachi but in MfD he has an entire clan of civis to look after, so he might be more focused on getting the Uchiha back on their feet. Maybe we can take advantage of that, now that the Hyuuga Clan is crippled at the moment?

Also, side note, can civilian Uchiha have babies that awaken the Sharingan? I mean, they may not have the advantage of ninja-pedigree working for them (for whatever that might mean in MfD's magic system), but it might be at least feasible for the Uchiha Clan to have a few kids in the Academy right now. I mean, let's say that Itachi killed all non-Sasuke Uchiha ninja 8ish years (random number, please don't kill me) before now. That's eight years for people to make babies (something that statistically happens a lot more after a tragedy, see birthrates immediately after 9/11) and time enough that they're likely to be in the Leaf's Academy. And the Uchiha clan only needs, at minimum, fifty people to avoid genetic inbreeding. Unless, I suppose, the rate that a civilian Uchiha unlocks the Sharingan is something like 1 in every 75 people.

Edit: though it could be that they all died in the Sinkhole Incident

Yes, no, kinda, yes.

The Uchiha weren't targeted by the Sinkhole.

Plus Itachi's attack only killed the ninja, so there are hopefully young children or infants who were spared and have since developed their chakra.

Don't ask what sequence of events led me to notice this, but I think Keiko's missing the XP award from chapter 304 on her char sheet.

Also, closer look, is 270-276 and 279-289 supposed to be missing for Keiko?

Aaaaaa Noburi and Akane (e: and Hazou!!) are missing 271-276 and Akane's 279 and 280 are marked as 229 and 230 and I dare not look above 270 for fear of what I might find.

e2: Aaaaaa why do I keep looking Noburi's also missing 289!

e3: Made a comprehensive list of awards and whether they made it to the sheets or not.

Pardon me, I've only recently caught up and I read the previous chapters on Reader Mode. If it's not too much trouble, could someone please explain the EXP mechanic to me, or provide a link to where it's explained? Sorry for the inconvenience!
We get XP over time. The general formula is (time elapsed)*(talent coefficient), which is a semi-hidden value from the QM side of the screen, with a few modifying factors like the plans we make. For instance, we can get more XP if we stay below certain wordcount limits for our plans, and for making plans that are enjoyable for the QMs to write. Occasionally, XP bounties are also handed out for tasks like particularly amusing Jokes, certain omakes, or for doing bookkeeping. There are a few things that we have not yet done much of, but may be able to do in the future, like shadow clones or Ami-style training that will also increase our XP gain. We also have a pangolin training jutsu that marginally increases our XP gain, but the extra XP it gives can only be spent in a few limited ways.

This XP can then be spent via training plans on skills and stunts, which are ways to increase the capability of the characters, and fate points, which are spendable for temporary bonuses.

I can! The system rules are linked in this post.

If you want a quick tl;dr: we have skills such as Taijutsu, Athletics, Deceit, Calligraphy, Chakra Reserves, Sealing, etc. that have levels. These levels effect how good you are at said skill relative to the absolute baseline.

A fresh Genin probably is about level 20 in their primary combat stat (and maybe adjacent stuff).

Ditto the above for Chunin but with level 40.

Ditto the above for Jonin but with level 60.

Level 'N' of a skill costs 'N' experience points to buy. So buying Taijutsu 41 would cost 41 XP (which is about 12 days-ish worth of time in character of XP, on average). There are a few expensive skills like Chakra Reserves or Sealing which cost '2N' xp to buy level 'N', though, so it would cost 42 XP to buy Sealing 21.

You can also use XP to buy Stunts. Stunts are sort of like little flavorful extras you could add on to your build that interact with the mechanics in a more customized way than skills and dice rolls at the end of the day.

Good examples of this are the:

Sleight of Hand stunt, which Hazou has, and allows him to roll Deceit to fool folks with sleight of hand tricks with no penalties (if you did not have this stunt, you would be penalized some percentage during the roll. IIRC its 75% of your Deceit score that gets rolled).

Summoning Scroll Acolyte:

Adds +2 * (Thousand Yard Stare Points[These are essentially 'Permanent trauma points' you get for seeing freaky disturbing stuff in ninja land. We have 8 of them at the moment, and thats sort of a lot if you aren't Kagome or really old.) to your Sealing rolls in exchange for being minorly injured when utilizing it.

Thanks guys, I really, genuinely appreciate the help, it's really, very kind of you guys to take the time to help me out! ^.^

(sorry if, in the future, I stumble and make a few non-rule-abiding mistakes out of ignorance. I'm still learning how to participate, rather than simply reading. I promise that I'll read the rules in full once finals are over and that any missteps in are out of ignorance or forgetfulness, rather than maliciousness!)

You don't actually need to know the system rules to really interact with the quest in general beyond a couple vague summaries like "Sealing research takes a lot of time and a skill to do safely otherwise it opens a portal to bladeland in your kitchen." so I really wouldn't sweat it.

Basically this. QMs have stated in the past that the mechanics are built to support the simulation, not the other way around. As long as we don't horribly neglect XP spending and the like, and focus on what our character(s) do, we're fine.

Hah.

Could we not shatter the world's first omnilateral international peace treaty while personally provoking the most dangerous team of mass murders in the entire planet? Veidt could pull it off. The hivemind? Not so much.

Speaking of Akatsuki, has everybody already forgotten that Orochimaru still has Hidan chained up in his basement somewhere?

I don't know if the scariest part of the plan is the potential for pandemic blowback, Sannin murderrage, or the fact that we never figured out what that thing in the deep swamp everything else was scared of was. Jiraiya clearly had an interest in it, and he made very sure that Leaf forces stayed well back during the co-op mission.
