So what actual issues do we, as a group, face in the upcoming week?
1: Noburi is floundering in his attempts to fake date Yuno.
2: From her reactions, Yuno doesn't actually know that this was an amusing misunderstanding, and is likely doomed to failure. (This is critically bad; expect Yandere reaction)
3: There's the upcoming meeting that's slowly ratcheting up the tension of the village.
A) The meeting likely discusses what to do with these foreign ninja hanging around and getting everywhere.
B) The meeting also clearly involves the potential of a serious power shift as elders and their families gain or fall out of favor with the village.
C) Depending on how the meeting goes, this means that things could devolve into a brief, bloody civil war, or the entire village lynching us, or everything getting much easier, or nothing changing.
4: The Yoshida are the only ones that make seals in the village, and are working with the Kannagi.
5: Kagome's birthday is 10 days away; we need to do something for him.
6: The villagers have a lot of eccentric customs that they care about intensely. This explains why they're so difficult to interact with.
Anything else?

What did I miss?

(credit goes to those who pointed this stuff out before I did in case I am inadvertently copying/stealing/hacking/paying homage to someone else's idea)

When we met with the Kannagi there was a huge seal underneath us.

The villagers do actually care about their eccentric customs (Yuno and the cleansing rituals; as well as the sort of brawl between the Gasai and the Kannagi mooks).

Kagome's birthday is in less than a month.

Training and research results are TBD and could have a heavy impact on our current status.

Ten days away in fact. Whatever action plan we have needs to include addressing this.

I think a small note about asking what Kagome would consider appropriate for his birthday would suffice. I have a feeling that if we try to surprise him in any way he will react poorly. Just ask him for a list or a set of guidelines for acceptable gifts and then choose one so we all don't die from multiple explosions.

Naaaah. We can figure something out that he won't blow us up over.

e: He's pretty guileless, to be frank. We could probably be subtle about asking him stuff he'd like, and he wouldn't catch on. I kind of want to do something with his interest in geology, though. Maybe Mari can sneak off and get him a book on it, if we don't get the chance to find minerals for him ourself?

This has been discussed upthread: multiple instances of this technique in the same direction do not stack; only the strongest takes effect.
Damn. Alright, then flip the jutsu and use it to suck all the heat out of an area. Stealing energy should be easier than producing it. The only question is what to do with all that heat... Maybe we can compine it with the firefly jutsu?
"Did you flick your shoulder at me?"
Oh you cheeky fucks.
what can we (i.e., Hazou) do to prevent either of those eventualities?
Given that Noburi has no deception dice, have Hazou sub in for him (henge)? We're more likely to survive an attack if she goes full Yandere anyways.
...oh god. Noburi, we're going to kill you if you kill yourself over this.
He won't, admittedly Gasai might.

Oh, idea! That's a good way to kill her if worst comes to worst.

Alright. Edited the List Of Problems We Need To Solve.

Did I miss anything this time?

I feel bad for the axe-girl getting tied into politics and getting fooled by Noburi. She just wants to find a nice husbando and maybe kill some people with her blood-splattering axe. Is that really too much to ask. :(

The Gasai and Kannagi feuding is interesting. More interesting is that Yoshida seemingly supports Kannagi. I wonder if she really supports them or if she is playing both sides in order to make sure that she is on the winning side. Takahashi was also supportive of Kannagi, this makes me wonder how tight is the Yoshida-Takahashi allegiance exactly.

Even with Takahashi-Yoshida-Kannagi teaming up (and Kannagi actually getting a seat), they only have 3 votes against the "isolationists'" 4. Then again they will have most of the fighting power in the village behind them (Sealing-Ninjutsu-Weapons respectively), assuming the Gasai can somehow be neutralized or made part of the coup. It is possible that Gasai and Kannagi are just throwing up a smokescreen for the other isolationists with this feud, it would give the Taijutsu and Weapons clans a way to prepare for war without tipping off who they are fighting.

From our perspective, the alarming part is that once again one of us was isolated and spends a good number of hours out of the watchful eyes of the group. Thankfully both of them have bloodlines so checking them for impostors should be pretty straight forward. Not really sure what else to do about it than run away.

Ergh, too little information to actually decide anything about any of this. I guess the best thing we can do for now is to prepare for bloodshed and hope that the winning party is amicable to us.

Dude, I appreciate the creativity, but RTFM. This technique can raise or lower temperature within a fixed area; it doesn't place the lost energy under your control to do other things with.

Before doing anything further concerning Yuno and Noburi, I want Mari to interrogate her using Truth Lost in the Fog to make sure this isn't a part of some larger ploy to destroy us that Yuno is in on.

If she's geniune then things are merely worrisome.

If she's a plant that Yoshida and Kannagi are using to throw us social curveballs to keep us off balance, or something more sinister, then we need to know.

Do the Elemental Nations have sweet potatoes? They're pretty much perfect crops for this place.
Thanks to @Rihaku's canon Omake, yes, they do. Or at least they have yams, which I believe are genetically closer than donkeys are to oxen.

Yeah. She deserves better than Noburi, frankly, but hopefully he'll change.

On a side note, if she is genuine, and we can find a way for her to join the party without causing too massive an incident, I am in favour of recruiting little miss Khorne berserker.

Hazou's recruited two party members already. Noburi needs to play catch up.
Also Yoburi would neatly solve Noburi's doomed crush on Kei.

Isn't the reason for the Kannagi and Gasai in-fighting due to the upcoming Elders election that may displace the Gasai's for the Kannagi's? Or is that not confirmed explicitly enough for that to be a reason?

Considering we seemed to be making nice originally with the Gasai's (a la Kouta the apprentice), I wouldn't expect the Kannagi's to have been as happy with us if there was a pre-existing feud. I think it's more recent events raising the possibility that the Kannagi's can sweep out the Gasai's.

I don't want Mari using TLiF on Yuno. We still don't know what the price is, and I'm pretty sure Yuno is clueless about any plots that might be going on. And if there are doubts I'd rather we try mundane methods first. Maybe invite Yuno over with Hazou or Mari as a chaperone.

Not sold on Yuno as a party member either. She's not a missing nin, she has a place. We have nothing to offer her for her loyalty except for Nobby, and I suspect she'd rather keep him with her. And setting Nobby up with miss Gutslasher for life (however long that lasts) seems cruel. Noburi definitely wasn't enthusiastic about the marriage.

There are better ways to solve crushes. Like growing up.

A life of excitement and splashing gore around with her axe outside of the rigours of her oppressively clean religious village?
That was one time, and it's seen as failure on our part. We sneak and talk and run away. The most popular idea for future action is to hide somewhere to research sealing for the next month at least.

We can't promise her blood and gore when we do our best to avoid it. She'll be.. Unhappy.. When we don't deliver.

Re Noburi, He likes hanging out with a pretty girl. Ask him or @Velorien or @eaglejarl how he feels about tying himself to her in holy matrimony.

We don't go looking for blood and gore, but...

The authors seem to enjoy writing fight scenes.

So yeah.

It's going to happen whether we want it to or not. Might as well take Yuno along for the ride.

There's no reason to rush things, but lots of people get married eventually.
I don't think Noburi would actually be opposed to dating her if the circumstances changed.

Say, by her running away from Hidden Hygeine to go pursue her dream of literally bathing in the blood of her enemies...

Is the Kannagi clan leader is going to come down with a lethal case of Axe shortly after refusing the marriage?

Eventually! He's thirteen! Let's maybe let the kid live a little?

And really, look at his character. All he likes is that she's a pretty girl. Any time her character shines through he gets thoroughly creeped out. Which makes sense.

That girl is not worth the trouble.
