Marked for Death: A Rational Naruto Quest

Tenten can work on warming Keiko up to him at our behest hopefully. Keiko's reaction to Lee was very much a knee jerk one, so I suspect we can convince her after some discussion and concessions.

Like, we'll soundproof every room in the house if need be, and get Akane to help us reign him in while indoors(its Unyouthful to be too Youthful indoors Lee, people need their rest and recuperation so that they may collect their throughts and gritty determination, in their own youthful way!)
 
My plan said:
  • Demeanor: Focused, direct.
  • Insist on meeting her ASAP.
    • We're relaying Jiraiya's last message for her.
    • That was not a request.
  • Hand her Jiraiya's message.
  • Let her vent.
  • Is Naruto able and willing to talk?
  • Are you aiming to become Hokage?
    • We'll support you or your choice.
    • Anybody but Hiashi, really.
  • When done, thank her for her time.

@Roomba I think I can insert my condensed version into my plan; can you look it over?

I think in general saying that "Leaf might lose" is a less strong argument than "win or lose Leaf is fucked if Leaf fights period"; I also added a section asking who she'd rather support, then.
 
Hmmm. Could we adopt Kazusa Minori? She seems to be clanless, and she was good enough to participate in BOtG. She's pretty traumatized right now, but if she recovers she'd be a valuable asset.
Plus from a more meta perspective, what better way to make sure she never spills the beans on the USoUD than to induct her into the clan and tell her it's a clan secret? :p

I'm significantly more interested in making her -- willing or not -- the leader of a clanless faction within Konoha.

I think we want to get her talking about the battle of the gods to the clanless. Mostly, telling everyone how much of a complete prick Hiashi is.

We don't want it associated with us though, then it would be lumped in with "Gouketsu bad destabilizing influence grawr"

This part lost quite a bit to its detriment, I think. The problem is not only that Leaf specifically might lose, but that the whole village system might collapse if the major villages are weakened enough. The Akatsuki point is a really strong argument as well, though contingent on Hazou knowing about them. Finally, I think that final point should either stay as is or become more descriptive - the idea is to reference Hazou's conversation with the clanless during the journey back, and I expect him to elaborate on this point on his own. I don't think your redaction achieves this.

Seems fine otherwise.
 
On a different note, there's been some discussion on Discord about sneaking Team 7 in to visit Naruto, maybe with their jounin-sensei if he's alive. This has many benefits:
  • It's simply a nice gesture that should endear him to us.
  • Sasuke is an important player, getting on his good side is important. Furthermore, we can use his relationship to Naruto as an in to get his vote.
  • Sakura is a good candidate for adoption.
  • It should make the subsequent conversation be smoother and less awkward.
Question is, how do we arrange it quickly?

I fully support doing this.

My suggestion would be asking Tsunade how Naruto is and if it would be possible for us to have Team 7 come in to visit him.

BTW, why haven't we ever met Naruto? There were two periods when both we and he were in Leaf before the Showdown, if I recall correctly. Namely, the first time (when we ended up getting killboxed and expelled), and then when we returned with Skywalkers.
 
In addition, clanless account for thirty-seven percent of the ninja forces in Mist, yet seventy-one percent of all disciplinary action. Clanless ninja are approximately the same percentage of the population here, meaning roughly five hundred individuals. I have not investigated the precise figures for crime or disciplinary hearings, but other facets of military service are essentially the same between the two forces, so I have no reason to think they are different in this respect. We may debate the causes if you wish, but the fact remains that clanless ninja are far less respectful of authority than clan ninja.

This paragraph, and the "fact's don't care about your feelings" "own" are, in fact, racist and otherwise discriminatory dog whistles, and as much as I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on this not being intended as such, these dogwhistles can and do have real consequences when shared and spread and normalized even (or perhaps especially, in some cases) by those who are not racist themselves. I recognize that people in character need not be paragons, but when it continues ooc...

Sorry, but why? There are lots of facts that I don't like; that doesn't make them non-facts, and you're not an anti-semite just because you discuss them.
 
If Hazou is going to be in a hospital room, please make a point of having him memorize the seals worked into the filigree which Kagome noticed but couldn't read due to the distracting cover. The Iron Nerve's ability to instantly memorize seals and only seals should make it easy for Hazou to extract the real pattern so Kagome can analyze it.
