He could be a widower, currently or in the future.Hiashi's definitely married. Where do you think Hinata and Hanabi comes from?

It was a joke.
I think she might also still be mad at him because of the trouble he and Neji caused Tenten during the exams (when their team got arrested).Keiko doesn't want Lee specifically because she finds him annoying as a person, that's not strategic that's just silly
My plan said:
- Demeanor: Focused, direct.
- Insist on meeting her ASAP.
- We're relaying Jiraiya's last message for her.
- That was not a request.
- Hand her Jiraiya's message.
- Let her vent.
- Is Naruto able and willing to talk?
- Are you aiming to become Hokage?
- We'll support you or your choice.
- Anybody but Hiashi, really.
- When done, thank her for her time.
Roomba's proposed text said:
- Things to keep in mind:
- She just came out of a deadly battle where she lost her teammates. Some sympathy is in order.
- Not too much though, she'll hate being coddled by a snot-nosed brat.
- Let her vent if she needs to.
- No bullshit, straight to the point. We can't manipulate her, and she dislikes wasting time.
- Attitude: Be respectful, but firm and very serious. You are responsible for your clan, and this affects its future. Don't aggressively push, but don't back down if she tries to intimidate or dismiss you.
- The meeting:
- Offer our condolences for her losses, and give her Jiraiya's message to her.
- We're planning to adopt Naruto, as per Jiraiya's wishes. Is he OK for visitors?
- Talk about Hiashi's broadsheet. How accurate is it?
- Is she willing to make a bid for the hat?
- Given the broadsheet, Hiashi clearly intends to go to war with Rock and Cloud.
- This is immediately after Leaf suffered a major blow, and while dismissing our allies in Sand and Mist.
- Leaf could very easily lose and be destoyed.
- Even if it doesn't, another great ninja war right after the Akatsuki catastrophe could cripple the village system for generations.
- (If Hazou knows that the Akatsuki are at large) Not to mention there are 7 S-rank criminals at large, with a mission to pursue peace the "hard way".
- On the other hand, this is an incredible opportunity to start anew and build a long-lasting peace.
- For the first time in recorded history, village ninja fought together against a common foe.
- (If Hazou knows that the Akatsuki are at large) And the weakened villages can only oppose the remaining Akatsuki together.
- We need someone who can credibly oppose Hiashi, and she's the best we've got.
- Hazou talked to some clanless ninja on the way to Leaf, and they believed it was illegal for "mudfoots" to learn medical ninjutsu. Is she really ok with this?
- *gallows humor* At worst, she just needs to suffer the hat for a few years until Naruto can take over.
- Regardless of her answer, thank her for taking the time to talk.
- You'll always be willing to listen to whatever advice she has. Sage knows you're going to need it.
@Roomba I think I can insert my condensed version into my plan; can you look it over?Proposed Condensation to insert into my plan said:

- Is she making a bid for the hat?
- Leaf cannot fight.
- Someone's preparing for a war against Rock and Cloud.
- Win or lose, in the fighting Leaf will exhaust its fighters and collapse soon after.
- This is the greatest chance for lasting peace in the Elemental Nations.
- For the first time in recorded history, all village ninja fought together against a common foe.
- Additionally: Clanless don't think "mudfeet" can be mednin.
- We need someone who can credibly oppose Hiashi.
- She's the best candidate.
- If she's unwilling, ask who she'd support.
- Thank her for her.
- Her advice is always welcome.
I'm significantly more interested in making her -- willing or not -- the leader of a clanless faction within Konoha.Hmmm. Could we adopt Kazusa Minori? She seems to be clanless, and she was good enough to participate in BOtG. She's pretty traumatized right now, but if she recovers she'd be a valuable asset.
Plus from a more meta perspective, what better way to make sure she never spills the beans on the USoUD than to induct her into the clan and tell her it's a clan secret?

I think in general saying that "Leaf might lose" is a less strong argument than "win or lose Leaf is fucked if Leaf fights period"; I also added a section asking who she'd rather support, then.
- Leaf cannot fight.

Mostly implemented, though with some minor changes.Ok, so here's my attempt at an extended Tsunade section. This might be the most important conversation we have in this quest, right after the killbox one, and I want to maximize the chances of it going well based on what we know of Tsunade.
Meeting with Tsunade
Question: Should we take Noburi with us? Any other feedback also appreciated. I'll try my hand at a Naruto section later tonight.

Thanks, put that in (save the Tsunade section) because, well...
I think the *gallows humor* part covers that more or less, please check to be sure.@faflec Could you maybe add a line after asking Tsunade about the hat to feel out her stance on taking the hat temporarily, so Hiashi doesn't get it and lock Naruto out for decades? If Naruto needs a few weeks to unfuck himself, it would suck for him to be passed over because Hiashi insisted on having the vote in that time, and I'm pretty sure Tsunade likely cares about Naruto too?
Ask if Nakamura Dai's still alive? ...I mean, I can add it in later, but could I ask why?
[X] Action Plan: Gathering Allies
Word Count: 499
- Bring Mari back inside.
- We trust you, but need your advice on meeting with Tsunade/Naruto.
- What were you going to do, anyway?
- Let her do her thing afterwards.
- Read Jiraiya's will and answers.
- Follow instructions for his death, and apply them to our future actions.
- Meet with people.
- Optimize with the clan first.
- Tsunade:
- Attitude:
- Show measured sympathy. She lost her teammates in pitched battle, and hates pity.
- Let her vent.
- Don't waste her time.
- Attitude: Be respectful, firm, and very serious. Don't aggress or back down from dismissals or intimidation.
- Meeting:
- Deliver Jiraiya's message. Offer our condolences.
- We're planning to adopt Naruto, as Jiraiya wanted. Is he OK for visitors?
- Talk about the broadsheet's accuracy.
- Is she making a bid for the hat?

- Leaf could very easily lose and be destoyed. Even if it doesn't, a war after the Akatsuki catastrophe could cripple the village system for generations.

- On the other hand, this is an incredible opportunity to start anew and build a long-lasting peace.
- For the first time in recorded history, the five major villages fought together against a common foe.
- (If Hazou knows that the Akatsuki are at large) And the weakened villages can only oppose the remaining Akatsuki together.
- We need someone who can credibly oppose Hiashi, and she's the best we've got.

- *gallows humor* At worst, she just needs to suffer the hat for a few years until Naruto can take over.
- If she's unwilling, ask who she'd support.
- Thank her for her time; her advice is always welcome.
- Naruto:
- ONLY do this if he's functioning.
- Introduce ourselves and offer condolences for his losses. Let him vent.
- If Jiraiya left Naruto anything, give that to him.
- Jiraiya wanted us to adopt you once you returned. It's still your choice; we'll support you no matter your decision.
- Relay Tsunade's answer on becoming Hokage. If she said no, does he want to make a bid; else, will he back her?
- Misc. stuff:
- Ask Mari about Clan Head duties and Leaf politics. She's been our Acting Clan Head during the Exams.
- How to declare clan secrets, and what protections it gives.
- All clan heads and their political leanings.
- Investigate good adoption targets: Nakano and co., Lee, clanless Jonin like Kabuto.
- Investigate the broadsheet.
- It's been printed, ask the Nara who published it.
- Visit bars and public newscenters, work at hospitals..., to gauge public sentiment towards other villages.
- Maybe ask Minori what really happened?
- Ask Kagome if he's willing to teach more apprentices.
I fully support doing this.On a different note, there's been some discussion on Discord about sneaking Team 7 in to visit Naruto, maybe with their jounin-sensei if he's alive. This has many benefits:
Question is, how do we arrange it quickly?
- It's simply a nice gesture that should endear him to us.
- Sasuke is an important player, getting on his good side is important. Furthermore, we can use his relationship to Naruto as an in to get his vote.
- Sakura is a good candidate for adoption.
- It should make the subsequent conversation be smoother and less awkward.
Naruto might appreciate it if we can sneak Team 7 in to visit him in the hospital.Ask if Nakamura Dai's still alive? ...I mean, I can add it in later, but could I ask why?
Sneak them in...if we're getting in by asking, why can't Team 7 go in like normal people?Naruto might appreciate it if we can sneak Team 7 in to visit him in the hospital.
(Team 7 might also like this.)
Aren't we getting in by bribing them with the chakra water plan?Sneak them in...if we're getting in by asking, why can't Team 7 go in like normal people?
We're getting in to Tsunade by giving her that stuff. There is currently no equivalent plan for Naruto.Like seriously, we've never even met the guyAren't we getting in by bribing them with the chakra water plan?
Either way, we should let Team 7 know discreetly where Naruto is at.
OH NOWe're getting in to Tsunade by giving her that stuff. There is currently no equivalent plan for Naruto.Like seriously, we've never even met the guy
This is a terrible idea. Insisting on examining that seal will lead to consequences (TM), and not to any actual success in understanding the world's most complicated seal.OH NO
QUICK, KAGOME NEEDS TO VERIFY THE INTEGRITY OF HIS SEAL AND HAZOU NEEDS TO HELP! (???)
You mean through the window?Sneak them in...if we're getting in by asking, why can't Team 7 go in like normal people?
In addition, clanless account for thirty-seven percent of the ninja forces in Mist, yet seventy-one percent of all disciplinary action. Clanless ninja are approximately the same percentage of the population here, meaning roughly five hundred individuals. I have not investigated the precise figures for crime or disciplinary hearings, but other facets of military service are essentially the same between the two forces, so I have no reason to think they are different in this respect. We may debate the causes if you wish, but the fact remains that clanless ninja are far less respectful of authority than clan ninja.
At the risk of being a wet blanket about a joke that fell flat...Hey, that wasn't racism. That was pure facts, backed up by hard statistics. Facts don't care about your feelings, nor about confounding variables.
Sorry, but why? There are lots of facts that I don't like; that doesn't make them non-facts, and you're not an anti-semite just because you discuss them.and the "fact's don't care about your feelings" "own" are, in fact, racist and otherwise discriminatory dog whistles,
