You're proposing we wait until Hiashi had time to rest, fortify, and plan next steps and contingencies.
No I'm proposing we plan out our moves and get proactive. the time Hiashi has to rest, fortify, and plan we'll have too, to plan, move, and coordinate with our allies. We are the clan of Sannin and leader of the team that lead the worst battle the world has seen. Keiko's marriage has been declared to the whole world and with it our alliance with clan head Shikamaru, and therefore with the Akimichi and Yamanaka, and Tsunade and Naruto both came back alive. This is our chance, if we just use it to run away we'll destroy our future in the long run.

Frankly what you're proposing is completely crazy and Will ensure we're hunted for life, and there's no way in hell anyone in the clan besides Kagome will go for it. Even if they did Mari is in no condition to run, she would likely die on the road.

Question: Is using Ami's favor on the table right now? Using it in the next few updates seems like it would be wise. The political chessboard is in extreme disarray and we are in a somewhat precarious situation.

About a weekago I started reading this thread. As of an hour ago I finished catching up. I really picked a bad time to join up didn't I?
Welcome! Lovely to have you. Personally, I think you picked the perfect time.

Are we sure this guy isn't a quest protagonist? :p
Yeah, funny thing: we've been wondering for a while how y'all would react when you realized that Akatsuki winning could be regarded as the Good End. :>

I'm pretty sure that's a typo, but who knows. @eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail Is that a typo?
Yes, that's a typo. It should be "Amane".

My suggestion is to use her favor to get her to work on international stability.

Using it while the board is upside down and hasnt even hit the ground yet would be pretty unwise IMO.

Yeah, not right now, but within a few updates once we have a better idea of how things are going to be shaping up. If it looks like they'll be shaping up in our favor without her intervention it wouldn't be a good idea to use it, if we're in a really bad spot or if we can use it to make SERIOUS gains then it might be worth it.

This is a perfect time. So many fewer characters to keep track of...

Which bit? Akane? Yes, a typo. It's disturbing how quickly people spot these, given that often we catch them within minutes.

Speaking of internal unity, IMO now would be the time to rally the civilian born ninja. Get them unionized or something, to give them a voice at the bargaining table. The notion of Hyuga Hiashi as Hokage would probably scare the shit out of a lot of them, but if they could be convinced to stand up in numbers and say no, or at least support the alternative candidate, it could put a lot of pressure on the clans to concede.

Also... use the printing press to release a flyer with these words on it:

Properly utilized, this is a lovely bit of anti-Hiashi propaganda.
Becoming the voice of the clanless ninja in this chaotic isn't a bad idea by far, but remember this is multi-clan oligarchy. Ultimately it's the clanheads who will vote in the new hokage, I'm not sure if what some civilian born ninja will change anything.

"The obvious wish would be to let me finish the ritual," Pain said. "Once our hearts are united, war will not merely cease. The very idea will become laughable. We will look back on this dark age with the horror it deserves."
ehh...sounds to me like Nagato wanted to literally make everyone the same person. A literal hivemind of people controlling all bodies at once.

Then again, given how we've turned out...

Note that it takes about a week to roundtrip from Leaf to Mist, assuming you have ninja running themselves into the ground to do it.

If we get enough clanless support it could make it much harder to fuck the Gotseku over.

Yeah, the deaths of Jiraiya and Orochimaru are the two things I regret about the way the dice fell on this fight. It would have been so much fun if they had survived, as Jiraiya would probably have insisted that Orochimaru stuck around, since Leaf would needed the firepower. Plus, I love writing Jiraiya.

On the other hand, Jiraiya's death gives the players a lot more agency so...win? I guess?

Then... what if Pain considered Orcohimaru a friend?

We don't really want to become the voice for them, and really can't. We need someone friendly with us to become the head of a civilian ninja organization. If only Akane was a jonin...

The last three Hokage all came down with a sudden case of violent death. Guaranteed not to happen to Orochimaru.

btw, Was Hana on the expedition?

See it this way, It's Nagato fault.
He could have resurrected his old master with his friend, but because of the tiny fact that Jiraiya murdered said friends, he decided not to.
So, thinking about it, it isn't really the dice fault, it's all Nagato.

DO NOT PROPOSE TO AMI(She want independence, and is one of the few things she really cares about, don't insult her, it would only be seen as an insult)

In what way would marrying Hazou reduce her independance? Do you honestly think Hazou could or would stop her from doing whatever she wants? It gives her significant power in Leaf, and also doesn't toally eliminate her power in Mist (because I doubt she would lose access to her favour network from inside Leaf). More importantly, it gives her reliable means to maintain a relationship with Kei. I haven't read the chapter in question, but I'm lead to believe that this is something she deeply wants.

Ami is also leading a major mist faction that propably will propably push for stronger ties between our villages. Marrying her could be counterproductive.

That's a valid concern. I think Ren will still push for stronger ties on her own, and I think Ami could still use AMI and her favour network to manipulate Mist politics from in leaf if she really tried. But I concede that it could be the case that it would hurt those chances if Ami repatriated.

Personally, I'm not so sure about that at the moment. Something fishy is going on here. Nagato seems to know a lot about some secret worldbuilding stuff, but I have to wonder if he was as well informed as he thought he is.
