The exam is the only real opportunity for non-lethal combat with stakes, where the extremely paranoid playerbase can actually be convinced to vote in punching plans. The Chūnin Exam arc's pacing is simply atrocious.
Not to mention that we are always on a Most Necessary Mission that killed essentially any player agency in choosing a direction. Our next Most Necessary Mission is going to be the tournament.
Guess what? We will ONLY be researching combat applicable seal and doing ONLY combat training.
