It was almost a year ago (around mid-August IIRC) that @eaglejarl started giggling like a little girl because the Exams and the punching they implied were coming. Think of how disappointed he was at the lack of punching in the previous events. Think how little there has been so far. The man has waited a year for this, let him have his fun.

Also @eaglejarl, I don't mind if you keep giving us 5XP/fight.

We're smack in the middle of one of the most turbulent and important periods in Elemental Nations history. Leaf has gained a massive strategic advantage from Skywalkers and is about to join with its hated enemy Mist, very credibly creating a power block strong enough to dominate the continent forever. In the meantime, the hidden threat of Akatsuki with power exceeding most villages is stealing WMD's for an utterly unknown purpose.

We're saddled with Most Necessary Missions because they are, in fact, Most Necessary. We haven't been doing them because the QMs decided they didn't want us to do research or anything, we're doing this because we put ourselves at the center of the world and the QMs have recognized that now our actions impact much more than just ourselves. Even inaction on our part has consequences now, and if we decide to ignore the responsibilities our position demands of us and just do what we want then we risk the house of cards falling apart and the Elemental Nations succumbing to darkness.

I too hope that in turn the demands for our action will slow down as the world exits this turbulent phase, and we'll be able to pursue all of those projects we've had on the back burner, but we cannot simply will away the turbulence or the price of our power in order to get there faster. Now that we're at the center of the world, peace and quiet like that must be earned.
 
I don't know why people are so fussy. I could understand it if it were stressful, but I just sit back and enjoy the show.
 
So where the hell are all the other Red teams?

Edit: Ah, the 42.5 is not a total of everything up til this point.

Hm. This seems to indicate that chakra beast parts are valued commodities. The question is, what for? Forms of spices, or exotic food? Something like steelback spines for help in making steel?

Getting two points of Alertness for Hazou/Noburi means getting them Alertness 32, which at their current Alertness 30 means 31XP + 32XP = 63XP. Team Gōketsu each has 42.5XP right now, plus another 13XP (7+1+5) that hasn't been added to their character sheets, for a total of 55.5XP. 63XP - 55.5XP = 7.5XP.

Yes, Keiko has Alertness 31 but this only means she has to pay 32XP + 33XP = 65XP, meaning she only needs 2XP more than the above (9.5XP).

Incidentally, this means that us making the tournament -- or not making the tournament -- will lead to deepening trade relations with the other nations. I'm not actually sure it's a good thing for our goals if Leaf gets the better end of the stick in one of these deals, but we could swing it, I'm sure.

In fairness, if they cased the joint for several hours they could tagged aspects for their assault.

(Incidentally, if we capture all the reds and so are able to keep them as chakra batteries, Team ISC will be able to do the same.)

Uhh. Does the hold on votes extend longer than? It's been awhile since the mega-plan for round 1 domination was submitted
