[X] Action Plan: Continuation

@Kiba one thing I would suggest: in the Make Money section you specify to, if we must do missions, only do the minimum required to keep the clan finances afloat. I fear that phrased this way it might result in Hazou being lazy about missions compared to the rest of the team and create the sentiment that he isn't contributing appropriately.

My suggestion of an alternative would be something like 'don't go overboard unless the clan finances are really that bad, Hazou still wants time in his schedule to do the rest of the plan'.

Edit: as far as taking ninja missions goes, Jiraiya thinks it's a good idea (which to me means that it isn't unduly dangerous) and since this is only a short term situation we shouldn't have much to worry about in terms of danger. Once the clan finances are under control we can transition away from missions and focus more on becoming a sealmaster and gaining our money that way.

Done. How does it look? It prioritize getting a job over missions.

Most people will be in agriculture. There is little of surplus labor available in a medieval village. So, you would focus more on agricultural/mechanization instead.
If we assume agriculture resembles that of real world medieval times then about 9 farmers are needed to support every non-farmer. Farmers farm and their meagre surplus is taken as taxes by the local feudal lords. The taxes are used to maintain military control, pay the warrior caste (in this case ninja), fund the relatively tiny industry of skilled professionals (scribes, artists and so on.) and luxuries such as Hot Springs Resort. The Leaf Village has a much higher standard of living and larger industry of skilled civilian workers than most places because the Leaf ninja provide an influx of wealth.

I suspect ninja don't go into civilian work much (aside from investing) because they get paid a lot more for doing missions.

First throughout the quest there had been a long term that ninjas don't historically think of using there powers for non combat abilities. That there aren't many utility Jutsu or skills

To me this shows that most ninja are happy being warrior kings. Not really interested in dealing with civilians as a resource to be used. They just exist as the background.
Then we get to hot springs. The lovely innkeeper informs us that ice is a huge deal. That it would bring huge profits if they had it. Now if ninjas routinely did non combat things she could just hire a hot spring ninja to obtain it. Instead she decides to ally with missing nin who might be dangerous. So then we get to leaf. Which apparently has such huge amounts of ninjas engaging in non combat trades that a huge bureaucracy exist to stunt it. Now leaf has the largest economy. Ninjas working in non combat trades would be a huge boon to the economy. However it is apparently heavily restricted to protect civilians jobs. Mist would not have any reason to not let ninja produce goods. Yet there economy is smaller than leaf. Also we have the fact that no one has tried to do anything to bring Iron out of its economic collapse.
Overall I think you made a political solution to keep your world building in place but it can only apply to fire country but it has to apply every where else to keep the status quo and it makes no sense any where else
Thank you for sharing. I think you missed a few points (e.g. "in the team's experience" and "not worth it to hire ninja for missions outside the country") but I appreciate your explanation.

Hey @eaglejarl, @Velorien, @OliWhail do y'all have any preferences in terms of formatting, especially for something like creating a new business?
The way you did it works fine. There's pros and cons to the various approaches -- putting things in spoilers makes it easy to look at just specific elements, but it also makes it easy to forget / not notice a particular bit of the plan. I suppose one thing that could help is to clearly separate the "specific actions" section from the "explanation and background" section (this is a good place for spoilers).

I have to say, I really like the idea. This is exactly the sort of thing I enjoy seeing in portal fantasy. (Which MfD sorta-kinda is.)

If you can get more specifics, I am happy to ask.
Mostly I want to ask Jiraiya:
  • If we'd need to have a license to sell goods we bought from the Pangolins in Konoha.
  • If Jiraiya has such a license for the Toads.
  • If (assuming the above is true) it would be a good idea for us to claim the goods we got from the Pangolins were actually from the Toads.

  • Yes.
  • Maybe.
  • Probably not.

For #3, an alternative would be for the Pangolins to "sell" goods to the Toads, who would "sell" them to Jiraiya, who using his license would "sell" them to Konoha.
If that could work then we could just we got ice from trading with the toads. Whatever license(s) Jiraiya has for trading with the toads are probably highly restricted in what Jiraiya can get in return for trade.

Can someone please vote for a training plan that includes learning to use macerators in combat? I will be so sad if we put off learning that even longer when we've had them for literal months, in and out of game.

I don't think there is much point until we build a boom harness like Kagome has with the gloves and belt.

???

I don't understand what you're getting at here. They're shotguns, basically. Why would we need a boom harness for a shotgun? Just stick them in the Kagome-brand rings and have at it.

Macerators are based on storage seals which can't be arbitrarily scaled. Do they fit in ring size? I thought we would need to put them in our palm.

Also if we are going to get a boom harness at any point we may as well start training with it now so we don't have to adapt our fighting style again later.

We already have the belt that he trained us (the whole team) to use.

Moar feedback and voting would be appreciated. We have extremely low number of votes.
We can't make any informed decisions unless we actually know how the economy works and we can't know how the economy works because the QMs don't know. We don't know the answers to such basic questions as.

Has the plough share been invented? Can we invent it?
How does chakra affect crops and agriculture in the elemental nations?
How often do chakra monsters attack farms
Does chakra automagically replenish the soil / enhance the plants increasing yields?
Do people with chakra need to eat less or more than regular people?
Maybe Chakra protects plants from pests
(Maybe there is a locust catcher plant that protects crops from pests provided you give it chakra or fresh meat)
What are the rough percentages of ninja, nobles, farmers, tradesmen and merchants in the elemental nations?
What is the relative wealth disparity between them?
