If Hazou can use Iron Nerve to fight on autopilot while focusing on his body language (Roki) I see no reason he shouldn't be able to do something far less stressful (though I would, of course, accept an explicit ruling to the contrary).

He is also likely not perfectly executing his moves anyway, given that combat is a chaotic environment.

Put it this way: I am not worried about Hazō's programmed library.

I am worried about his executive function. The one that start and stop drawing the seal. The one that press start and stop, or disastrously skip a step.

Do you drive? It's pretty instinctal, isn't it. I am not worried about my ability to turn the wheel in the right way or how to accelerate. I am worried about making sure I stop at every stop sign, making sure to look right to left, etc.

I thought Hazō stored each seal (blank) as one complete motion, so once he starts drawing a blank the entire design is on autopilot. In fact, isn't that the entire reason behind IN being such a huge boon to Sealing?

Research and Development:
  • Find out what the basic seals do. Learn and infuse them.
  • Hazō will crank out 200 macerator v2.0 seal.
    • Don't have to be done all at once.
  • Start a research notebook so that we can ask Jiraiya in-between updates.
  • Kagome-sensei and Jiraiya should be working on Skywalker Seals themselves.
    • We need to improve the performance of these seals for the upcoming war.
  • After Clan Council Meeting: Do original research.
    • Don't do seals that are already invented. Look into Konoha and Jiraiya's library first.
    • Research Ideas:
      • Cooling and Heating Seals - So we can make looooot of money selling ICE(tm) and develop airships.
      • Vibration Seal - Hazō noticed that alarm seals vibrate the air. Musical instruments do too. Even his voice vibrate. Maybe he can apply the vibration to a kunai and use it to cut better?
        • Probably easier to apply it to a knife.
      • Black ink on black paper - You can't use invisible ink, but what about black paper and matching ink?
  • Go on a shopping spree and buy all the books!

    • Machine - Specifically a book that explain simple machines.

    • If anyone ask, "that information is classified".
    • If someone is doubly insistent even after that, back away and consider calling in your escort for assistance.
    • If our escort's in on it, request that we return to our lodgings and tell Jiraiya later.

Added black paper and black ink to the research queue.
 
So, I googled around about the ice trade, wondering if there's any disease you can pick from ice picked off from lakes and rivers, like Ice Trade industry before refrigerator made the industry obsolete.

Turned out that it really isn't a big problem from what I looked at. Rather, it improves public health, since people can use ice to store perishable easier, which means less cured meat and more fruits and vegetables. Doctors can use the ice for medical applications too, though I don't know what exactly off the top of my head.

Come to think of it, if ice from Hot Spring made people sick, it would have been banned by that country med-nin long ago.

If I have to guess, there's probably cold temperature that kill bacteria. Quora said yes.

Edit: However, cold temperature do not necessarily kill all bacteria.

Out of overabundance of caution, I decided to remove the ice deal.

Paved near the civilised ends, dirt in the middle. A particularly self-important daimyo initially invested in the project, then gave up when it turned out to be too expensive. Paying ninja to keep the road free from bandits and chakra beasts is also costly, so apart from occasional sweeps, people tend to just hire escorts for individual journeys instead.

Those who can't provide ongoing passive value to Leaf (such as research) will have to do missions to get paid.

So none of us aside from Mari will have to go on mission then? And even then Mari is bowing out of the active duty ninja game, so we could all sit in a locked room and churn out valuable research in medical and seals plus the logistics value that Keiko brings.

We need to design our clan compound. I'm thinking a massive tower with a light emitting seal at the top, bright enough to be seen all the way out at sea.
 
Are we really going to spend a timeskip going through an unknown list of beginners seals and training with unknown genin?

Throwing out ideas--some may stick.

Some things we can do - sealing:
  • Remember the casino seals? Did we ever research them?
  • We can ask about learning the blanks of the secure-room seals.
Some things we can do - engineering:
  • (small) hot air balloons.
  • Cannons. They may not be optimal for us, but civilians need weapons eventually.
Some things we can do - fun:
  • Get a letter to Akane. Secretly.
Some things we can do - conspiracy:
  • See how human our godbrother acts.
Some things we can do - summoning:
  • Ask J if the Toads are also genocidal.
Some things we can do - my pet projects:
  • AGRICULTURE!
  • Learn some crypto basics.
