The RERs didn't destroy the Sealing facility, right? The one protected by all the seals? We should get a look at the seals for our own use. If they can stand up to RERs, then they're work incorporating into our own defenses.

(It's okay, QMs, I can propose mechanics to build from, so please don't cry too hard ;> )
Clearly, what protected the facility was actually Jashin's blessing, causing all the air molecules conveying the blast waves to coincidentally miss the 5SB seals.

Looking at it, it does look like the Swamp of Death ninja would have needed like 50 xp of combat lootbox a day plus very generous stunts and an optimized build to hit jonin tier in a year..

=

Do we have any means to quickly access the stuff inside the surviving labs? Akatsuki's notes may be useful.

Further, do we/can we boobytrap the rift entrance if we assume that there is presently some Akatsuki presence on the other side that we may want to sabotage?

undead city counterpart

They could call it Soul City.

And because they can't use chakra they might use some swords and call themselve Soul Samurai.

Jiraiya died a long way away from Leaf and will not be easy to retrieve
"-and Uncle Hidan is in timeout for doing something very naughty," Kisame finished. "Be careful that the same doesn't happen to you."

Hidan brought Jiraiya back and not Akane. Akatsuki is trying to convince him to join them. He is the "best" sealmaster in the world after all.

We go missing-nin again.

HIDAN: Dammit, after all this time in the afterlife, I can't remember what Kakuzu looked like anymore.

JIRAIYA: Hey, there. I'm a very old, incredibly rich ninja who spends his free time stealing people's hearts.

HIDAN: Finally! C'mon, the rift is this way.

HIDAN: "Nah, that's Hashirama or some other Senju. Must be the guy with long white hair, let's go old man!"

edit: changed the picture, the other one was connected to a furry site. lol

I want to second this, it seems very strange we didn't take any prisoners
Yeah, given the Sanin's presumably excellent and seasoned tactical sense, I was surprised that they didn't pivot to capture once the ground fight was basically won, and various critical questions were unanswered.

Plus, Oro and Tsunades long history of vivisections implies a very good suite of live-capture skills/jutsu.
...plus, Oro is notable for being bribed into combat missions with the opportunity to live-capture the enemy, and abhorring wastefulness.

I'm surprised they didn't make any captures by default, but happy to spend a FP on Hazou asking.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @Paperclipped

Thoughts on this Declaration?

Declare (-1 FP) that while directing the Sannin to mop up with Ninja Radar, Hazou asked them to take prisoners and they subsequently made several live captures.

Getting from the random mooks whether there was another Akatsuki member here that got mulched, or disappeared into the rift, is useful. Even knowing who was around when/how recently gives us strategic information.

Oh. It wasn't a gem. It was a lens.

It was his lens. It was his forbidden knowledge brought back from the Out, plucked from the depths of his soul and placed between him and the figure… as a bargaining piece.

Finally, Hazō understood. The figure wanted his Out lore, or perhaps it simply wanted him not to have it. But for some reason, it couldn't just take it. Instead, in exchange, it was offering him the map–knowledge of Akane's exact location and the lands in between, making for the swiftest, easiest possible rescue.
Unless, of course, Lord Jashin was just being fair, and waiting to complete the trade until Hazō proved he could make it to the afterlife to begin with. What if, the moment Hazō's feet stepped onto those alien shores, he forever lost his right to call himself a disciple of the beyond?

For the first time, Hazō found the possibility of victory terrifying.

Here's a thought. The in-universe source of our SSA DoB bonus is Hazō thinking back to the memories he has of absorbing the Pangolin Summoning Scroll seal. It's not a bloodline-imprint, it's the memories, which is why our Shadow Clones can access the bonus as well.

The Pure Lands drains your memories.

What if traveling through the Pure Lands will strip away Hazō's Out-memories before anything else?

This interlude, if it is even real, might not have been a bargain with Jashin. It could have a warning.
