Orochimaru has implanted a new chakra coil in Hazō. It functions like a battery that can hold up to 217 chakra. He was not prepared to implant multiple coils in one operation.

You can draw freely from both the new coil and the original one, so this acts as a straight-up increase in Hazō's total chakra capacity. (His Chakra Reserves stat is unaffected.)

The new coil does not refill on its own, so you need to spend chakra to refill it when you have downtime. The process is not perfectly efficient, so you need to spend 4 CP in order to put 3 into the new coil. (Fractional points round down to prevent cheese.) In the beginning this will require a 10 minute meditation, but with practice you will eventually be able to do it on the fly, with only a moment's concentration. We will assume that this refilling process happens in the background whenever that wouldn't affect the narrative or interfere with player plans.

To confirm, both the additional chakra capacity and the blood-replacement operations have been concluded? This was not just the chakra coil surgery?

From what I can tell, overdrawing (615 chakra) gives us slight less chakra than we have right now without overdraw (627 chakra). Us overdrawing a Mild with what I'm guessing will be our base chakra will get us 709 chakra.

EDIT: Oh wait, there are two things. I am an idiot.

Sorry, I should have said "Overcharge" and not Overdraw.

Noburi's Overcharge mechanic can give us a 20% bonus in exchange for a Mild consequence, which he can heal almost immediately. It's only receiving a 21-50% bonus which would give us a Medium.

We can try overcharging with a Mild. That will be enough, likely.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @Paperclipped do the post surgery instructions prohibit overdraw (Oro doesn't know about overcharge)? What do they say about runecrafting? Do we need time to heal?

@eaglejarl @Velorien @Paperclipped How does the second chakra coil work in terms of the overdrawing and overcharging mechanics? This can be:
  • Ignore the second chakra coil when calculating overdrawing and overcharging.
  • Add the second chakra coil when calculating overdrawing and overcharging.
  • Add some fraction of the second chakra coil when calculating overdrawing and overcharging.
  • Cause a biosealing failure.
  • Other.

Anyone else worried that the reverse summoning immediately after was to explain that it was a scam, and/or to that he summoned that particular snake because they don't care about oaths?

On the one hand, one imagines that Orochimaru killing a Snake in what presumably is in Snake Territory may lead to all the other Snakes responding with violence against him.

On the other hand, Manda may behave more like Nekkar than Cannai.

No. No we can't back up a bit. This is long past the point of no return. The point of no return was months ago, it's beyond the horizon, you can't even see it anymore. We've double and triple and quadrupled down on this, there's genuinely no other route unless you want to roll over and die. How did you come this far without realizing that?

    • Noburi, you mouthed off to Orochimaru right before we went under his knife. If we fucked up that badly, we'd be on latrine duty for a year. We get it. Do better.
      • You can study our bioseal while we do battle prep, if it'll soothe your concerns.
  • Review seals/runes, use SC to grind [whatever it was] veterancy
  • Battle Prep
    • Discuss tactics with team (goal: create taggable Aspects for the fight)
    • Ensure Hazou's coils are filled
      • Ensure Noburi is topped off from either team donations or nearby chakra beasts for maximum redistribution efficiency.
    • Noburi, meet with your Summons to warn of the Battle.
      • If you have enough chakra to Summon them without the koi, try to meet with Ma/Pa/Gamabunta to request their aid in the Rift battle.
    • Debrief Cannai on timing/tactics and what we know regarding enemy abilities/tactics (goal: create taggable Aspect for Cannai)
      • Attempt to Summon Cannai with new chakra capacity, in addition to overcharging for a Mild.
        • If failure, then spam SC for maximum RER 2.0 barrages.
    • Use SC to prepare Force Claws and RRBs for summons and allies who don't have comparable buffs
      • create many, many Force Claw vests/equipment for known Summons (Dogs, Toads, Pangolins, Porcupine, Snakes, etc).
      • Ensure team has enough sealing loadouts for SCs and Primes.
    • Do [whatever runic blank prep] was involved
    • Test whether or not Earth Clones can operate runes (such as RERs)
  • Leaf
    • Give signal
    • Grab Tsunade, Summoners, and jonin.
    • Leave Naruto for home defense/to throw off Akatsuki.
  • BATTLETIME BITCHES
    • Summon Cannai and related Summons.
    • Hide relevant Runes behind illusory seals + Kagome-designed traps. Multi-thread with SC for maximum RER 2.0 barrage.
      • Suggestions, get approval/optimization from Kagome, Orochimaru, and Team
        • Force Dome and Ninja Radar Runes near RERs.
          • When Ninja Radar shows approaching enemy, activate Force Dome and continue firing RER 2.0s while Force Dome activates (30 sec).
        • A skyslicer perimeter,
        • Tripwire explosives,
        • Concentric illusory seals to hide traps within traps,
        • Clear some random Zones between RERs and the battlefield to prevent enemy Substitutions (hide by illusion seals)
          • Within Zones, place a Storm Rune, and activate when an enemy gets in range (time via Ninja Radar). Hide behind second set of illusory seals.
    • Iron Earth + Force Domes near Rift to trap them inside. Barrage of RER 2.0s while FDs activate.

Did we get an Iron Nerve copy of this?

Mechanical suggestion: a five-element seal, placed on four walls and a ceiling. Turns the fabric stiff, and gives it a durability of 4 (equivalent to MEW) for Sealmaster AB number of hours.
