I am a tad confused. This was a dossier that was transcribed by Kabuto, who after last time Hazō would never assume not to be a loyal Leaf ninja. Frankly, Hazō must have been utterly shocked to hear that Naruto didn't already have a copy of this!

What exactly is the Tower upset about?

EDIT: Yes, I know this is completely irrelevant and old. I just thought it was funny.
Only Hazou is expected to be a loyal Leaf ninja. Everyone else gets a free pass for treason.

As a corollary, only Hazou can commit treason. Since he's the only one expected to be loyal.

Rules question about the new healing rules. Can Noburi apply mednin in the field to completely clear Mild Physical Consequences?

My thought process - if the Consequence clears when 20 shifts have been applied to it and Noburi can apply that many shifts in a single session would the Consequence clear immediately?

Case in point, imagine a bog standard Mild Consequence with TN10/20 shifts. Inflicted in the field, so Noburi is only using Vampiric Attunement. He timeladders this up twice, so treatment takes "half an hour".

Noburi auto-passes the Medknow roll, amd rolls 60 (Mednin) + 4 (VA) - 14 (timeladder) + 4FD = 50 + 4FD

Generating 14 shifts vs TN 10 on neutral rolls. That heals 28 shifts, enough to clear the Mild.

My question then, is the Mild completely gone? That would mean Hazou (it's always Hazou) could pick up multiple Milds over the course of a dungeon dive, only ever stopping if he took a Medium. Just resting 1/2 hour to be healed each time while Nobs clears the Milds.
Oooooh! Echoing this question. I'd love to know the answer.

Yes, once a Consequence has 0 shifts remaining, the Consequence is immediately removed. If this lets you take Mild Consequences with relative impunity, consider it an incentive to get a medic on your squad and keep that medic in good condition.

We'll note that this is subject to QM judgement. A medic can make the consequence have no penalty, but won't reverse time for the injury. If you keep taking Milds, the cumulative bits and pieces of strain that the medic couldn't heal will add up (and not in a good way).

HDK whether Orochimaru or Kabuto got any consequences of their own for failing to promptly submit this information. He does suspect that Naruto's views on Kabuto's loyalty might be different than Hiruzen's now that Kabuto reports to Orochimaru first and the Tower second.

Right. This is mostly for cave dives and the like with multiple combats in one day but enough time to rest in between. Pretty niche but might come in handy. I doubt we'll end up using it much.

Could I bribe you with a sufficiently adorable cat video to have had Hazō use this defense when Naruto got annoyed at us? The whole thing was offscreened and we never got a chance to respond.

I resent the implication that Hazo allows personal grooming to fall by the wayside whenever Team Uplift is exploring a very dangerous location. If that was the case he'd never be washed.

Hazo only gets like that when he's deep in the prep days.
All his hair got burned off in the Fire Ghost incident a few months back anyway. It's hardly worth mentioning now.

deep in the prep days.
Can't wait to sling new insults as we reinvent global sealing paradigms.

'deep in the prep days' - You're looking unkempt and manic
'having two left feet on the Safety Dance' - You've done something foolish in an important situation
'Should've asked for a Chakra Pony' - Your wishes for a good outcome were naive, you could've wished for something less bad than what you're currently experiencing.

I think it just got shortened up so it would be even on both ends. But that was a few months ago and he's also been in time dilation... we're back on track for Madara hair
Okay this is worth of a QM ping if anything is ever.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @Paperclipped

What is the status of Project Treasonous Hairdo? How much did we lose to Kasai and Kishigami, and has it regrown since then?

I think you mean ":sad-girl-who-is-currently-being-tortured-and-chopped-into-itty-bitty-pieces-to-send-to-us-face:"
So dramatic.

She's probably fine.

Don't forget the ever important "What the hell, [name]?" - You've pulled a Hazo. Never. Pull a Hazo.

Yes!

Possibly with the humorous including referencing how we would never again assume Kabuto is anything except a loyal Leaf ninja. We learned our lesson!
If your promised cat video is sufficiently adorable, we may consider it. (If Naruto is sufficiently appeased, maybe he'll even retroactively never have ordered you to go missing.)

[x] Action Plan: Investigating The Cave
Words: (to be optimized to <299)
  • Optimize with Team Uplift
  • Secure the pool, close off any deeper tunnels with MEW+traps, and set up a trap perimeter outside the cave.
  • Noburi, using Vampiric Dew, and Hazou, using both chakrascope and MS8...
    • Examine everyone's chakra system and chakra regeneration, before/during/after they step into the pool.
      • Everyone takes a turn, repeating over the course of several days/weeks, to maximize data points (NB: timeladdering/prep days)
    • Does Noburi think he could replicate this with his bloodline/medical ninjutsu?
    • Does Hazou think he can replicate this with Runecrafting?
    • Test to see if resting in the pool (open tenketsu) allows for Noburi to more easily drain someone.
  • Look for any fungi and plants with medical properties.
    • Suggestion for saving QM Spoons: provides a taggable Aspect ("Medicinally-relevant plants") on Mednin rolls? Max one tag per Mednin roll, number of tags based on the amount we harvest?
  • Once Hazou&Noburi have finished studying the pool, Use ES to study the cave itself.
    • Start slowly from the edge of the cave, and gently work inward.
    • If the cave reacts, makes golems, ect, try to make peaceful contact.
      • Brainstorm ideas on how to do this.
        • We could.... give them cool rocks?
        • Try very gently mingling ES with its domain to communicate. the jutsu give weird impressionist feedback sometimes.
      • If necessary, back off and try another approach.
  • Research
    • Kagome: Banshee Fuckers
      • Thank him. His recent research hasn't been glamorous, but he's been keeping us all alive, like always.
    • Hazō:
      • Research:
        • DotB: TR150, full prep, reroll for safety.
        • DotB: Force Domes.
        • Make sure SCs use the pool on infusion days.
        • Infuse a TR125 outside the cave to do prep days in.
      • Prep any ideas Hazōpilot has to replicate the pool's effects.
        • Examples: Water Rune, Chakra Soothing Rune, Soothing Field Rune
          • When Hazoupilot finishes other runes, he can start researching these.
      • With free days, research Delayed Explosive Rune (no DotB, no prep) and prep [prep days]

    • Hazou:
      • Prep day any and all ideas he/Noburi have for recreating the cave water effect, and work on it if it's difficulty "Hazou could maybe" or easier.
      • If Hazopilot runs out of ideas but Noburi's still researching, switch to researching TimeRune 150.
Suggestion for a revised research section below. Comments/concerns/word count optimizations welcome!

Motivation for this; we're on a timer. The time we've already spent chasing this cave without doing much research is bad enough, I'd strongly prefer that we start researching our runes as early as possible.

On that note, could I also suggest that you put a timer on the plan, e.g. "one DotB research cycle"? I've written this research section with that in mind; it would give us the opportunity to look at the candidates we get for replicating the pool and decide which to research, and we can't risk researching any of them in non-DotB tracks for at least the first cycle even if they come back as "well within".

Edit: Cut the "full prep" requirement, since that's now 6 days for us, which is probably more than we need.

Edit edit: Forgot we already learned Space Stretch.
