[X] Action Plan: The wolf howls at the ice covered moon
Can we discuss this with Mari? As Ami's former sensei, Mari likely knows all the ins and outs of how to mess with Ami.

(and also how to keep Ami from getting into our head too much)
The use of drugs to destroy the credibility of one's enemies
  • Incidentally have you heard any rumors about lord Hagoromo
This sounds like a scheme, even if (I think) the intent is to convey an idea on ruining the Hagoromo. It might be wise to slide this in to the relevant section.

Paranoid concern: Since this is the way that we knocked out Lizardbreath, Ami may use it for political pressure (for her and/or for Ren) for concessions or similar. I doubt that'll ever happen, but the possibility should at least be raised.
if she doesn't share her as schemes as well end this line of conversation
Could we rephrase this as "Share only as much as Ami shares; if she evades the question or gives vague ideas, reciprocate", or something like that? I think we want to give the air of being as willing as her to discuss stuff.

HAZOU: Hey I grew out my hair so you could braid it
AMI: Hazou, how many levels of irony are you on?
HAZOU: What?

I still convinced that Ami's going to believe we're flirting with her because of the hair x3

Edit:
I just had a thought. I wonder if Hazou or Kagome have ever rubber-ducked a sealing problem. I can imagine that Hazou's rambling to a completely bewildered --and increasingly scared--Noburi about how he "just can't make the stabilizing substrata align with this stupid conversion array" only to freeze for a long, long moment and then rush off, yelling about "cyclical vents" as opposed to "hexagonal shunts."

So, after this Ami talk and clearing the mine, what are our immediate goals?

We should probably decide who we're going to adopt, as well as make up our minds and give a response to Akane

So, after this Ami talk and clearing the mine, what are our immediate goals?

We should probably decide who we're going to adopt, as well as make up our minds and give a response to Akane
I'm okay with doing that, but we'll also want to...
  1. talk with Asuma and make sure we're not committing treason by building a Goketsu mining town
    1. Set up non-crippling taxation to model productivity for the Leaf
  2. Set a reward system for Leaf ninja who learn certain jutsu
Mostly the first one, but I'd also like to do the second one. The sooner we do it to the end of the contest --while ninja are already learning new jutsu on their own volition --the more people we'll have taking us up on the offer, and the more resources we'll have to draw on for Fertilization/Walling/Till'n'Fill missions.

Just a note we all ready did all the legal research on this and legally own the estate
But would that fall under the purview of creating an entire town? If nothing else, Asuma might want to be reassured to know that we're not secretly plotting against the Leaf and using the mine as a hidden base (something something Dazou, something something hidden bases).

Also: More kitten pictures!

Actually it was originally planned to be a secret base. This is just about civilians so isn't something that the Hokage will be concerned about
I'd at least like to do a sanity check with Mari, Noburi, and Keiko. I agree that Asuma probably won't care, but our tendency to keep secrets --important though it might be --has burned us before. If nothing else, we can prep everything (build the infrastructure, clear the land, etc) and then do a last minute check with Asuma before we invite farmers and miners to the town.

Ninjas are not necessary for defending towns and small villages. Which we can see from all the ones we visited as our time as missing nin

Yeah I guess it depends on how big we want it to be, but at first I suppose it wouldn't be all that necessary. Still, it might make for an easy target for those rock nin just hanging out

I doubt it will be gotten to, and it should be it's own scene, but I have not the spoons to do up my own plan and campaign. So I'll say: any plan, and only a plan that has us actually trying to finish that talk with Akane from a while back that Hazou has mentioned a couple times will get my vote (with Vel picking Hazou's feelings, not us, of course). Willing to offer my exclusive vote to the first plan that gives it more than 30 words.

[X] Action Plan: The wolf howls at the ice covered moon

Ditto, let chaos reign and praise Jashin.

On a given day per month, let's open Goketsu cafeteria to the entire community at large, including foreigners, in akin to the Sikh tradition of Langar.

The idea is that a Community Meal Day serves both as a form of charity and a symbol of equality as part of the Goketsu uplift philosophy. Anybody can eat at our cafeteria, doesn't matter if they're rich or old, ninja or civilians, as long as they respect a few rules.

  • To ensure equality and fairness, each person gets one meal, not bigger or smaller.
  • They must not bring personal disputes, rudeness, and other unpleasantness into the cafeteria.
  • Everyone must wash their hands and feet before getting their food.
  • People can optionally donate, but it's not a requirement.
  • Everyone is welcome, regardless of economic status, ethnicity, gender, etc.

Why do this? Sharing a meal with someone at the table is a social event, build relationship and a sign of trust. By doing this en mass with the whole of leaf, we reinforce the identity of Leaf citizenship and shared humanity.

Plus it also breaks isolation marked by our walls by having everybody coming to us.

Some concrit:

While I can see the tone you were going for, being playful and trying to establish a rapport, some of the schemes can be read as really try-hard from Hazou's side.

Like a young teen trying to impress their role model. Maybe that is what you were going for but considering how you are pushing for Hazou to become a legend in his own right, I am doubtful.

Also this:

making Noburi the Mizukage

Why are we doing this? Does Noburi even know of this or express the desire to become Mizukage? Or is Hazou just throwing stuff around to see what sticks? If so, see above on how Ami would likely take that.

And there is one part that I could not make sense of at all:

throw explosives of the edge to interrupt her periodically

Why is Hazou doing this? This seems rude at best or actively antagonizing at worst. Is this to playfully mess with her? Because if so, their relationship isn't close enough for it to come across like that.

It's something Hazou could be doing with Noburi and they'd both understand it was just for fun. But Ami isn't his sibling (even doing it with Keiko, whom we are much closer with than we are to with Ami, would be a stretch because of different personalities), but a robot that can near-perfectly choose to emulate human emotions (usually wrt Keiko) or turn that off completely.

A lot of it comes down to whether Ami will humor Hazou or not. Which, maybe, is obvious. Because of the power imbalance, and not something even the best of plans could change, I think. But that doesn't mean we have to actively make it harder on ourselves.

I crave death and destruction, therefore here is my plan! I can't shake the sensation that this is an horrible mistake.

[X] Action Plan: The End Times, Ami Edition
Wordcount: 273

Ami
Run the plan by Mari and Keiko
  • Organize a date
    • Picnic in the goketsu estate
      • Topics of conversation:
        • How to kill a Chakra Golem
        • What is Hazou's greatest plan? (Don't reveal it)
        • What are her schemes?
        • How to braid hairs
    • Step 2: Goketsu House
      • One vs One Tabletop games, meanwhile:
      • Share your theories on the "Ami Puzzle"
        • Theory 1: Her master plan cannot fail, this is why she is always in control. The Mori bloodline makes it worse but showing every possible point of failure. Therefore opening to others is a risk.
          • It's also pretty stupid, if she then risks getting killed in stupid ways. She can fight Conjura, but honesty is too scary? Also, she's not omniscient.
        • Theory 2: She cannot trust her emotions, so she just keeps them under extreme control
        • Theory 3: She is an hivemind.
          • If true, does she have a council of Ami?
    • This said, does she want to be a family with us?
      • She evaded the matter before, even you noted it.
      • But denying the truth is bad.
        • We're already something, because Keiko.
        • We don't want to make Keiko sad, so we protect each other
          • The facts don't lie.
      • In short, we already are "family/ not family" and it's a pretty unstable situation
      • It's asking a lot, you understand:
        • Being family is serious business
        • It requires trust, honesty and all those thing she swears are fake.
          • She would even be credible if you didn't see her and Keiko together.
        • But we'll all be happier and stronger, if we won't die horribly.
        • She should think about it. The offer will remain standing.
    • Hand Ami a post-interaction survey

Not sure if you got the chance to implement my previous suggestions, @Oneiros, so I've added them and other changes, and polished the plan. Please be aware that other things have been changed.

[X] Action Plan: The wolf howls at the ice covered moon
  • Pre-date prep:
    • Optimize/get intel from Mari, like Ami's favorite foods and ways to mess with her.
    • Prepare a picnic in the branches of a tree.
    • Get hair ties.
    • Form an elaborate chain of explosives using LBF that will form a giant "^_^" visible from the treetops.
  • The date philosophy:
    • Keiko wants Hazou to have instance of two individuals spending a day together in order to facilitate greater mutual knowledge and familiarity, arranged in anticipation of a potential long-term relationship with Ami.
    • However, Hazou doesn't expect to gain much from this.
      • Therefore, the goal is to spend time with someone he respects, but doesn't fully trust.
    • Don't commit to anything during the date.
  • The date:
    • General strategies:
      • Make statements that can be construed as flirting but aren't clear even to Hazou
      • Constantly be practicing sleight of hand
      • Periodically throw explosives off the edge to interrupt her
      • Lean into any attempts to embarrass
    • General topics:
      • Let's braid each other's hair like you promised.
        • (Disclaimer: This is to mess with Ami, not out of genuine interest) Smiles seducirino (Jinno Yudai) sure is hot. What about you Ami, any boys that have caught your eye?
      • Share schemes
        • Share only as much as Ami shares; if she evades the question or gives vague ideas, reciprocate.
        • Topics include:
          • Using drugs to destroy credibility.
            • Incidentally have you heard any rumors about Lord Hagoromo?
          • Creating the 7th path trade network
          • Ending the Hyuga/Minami feud
            • This shows how ninja are truly like children
          • Killing chakra golems
          • Taking control of the yakuza
          • Creating a friendship holiday so that everyone in the village will be expected to give you chocolate
          • Going on 2 dates at once at the same restaurant
    • End the date by setting off the ^_^ explosion

[x] This Plan Secretly Aims to Kill Ami by Feeding Her to a Sky Squid. (Don't Tell Hazou!)
Word count: 499
  • Prepare with Mari. Compare your conclusions with Mari's knowledge.
  • Ami'll probably know Keiko arranged this meeting because she wants you to trust Ami due to some novel development. Tacitly let it stay contextual.
    • Precommit to avoid elaborating. Terminate the meeting if she starts digging.
  • Goal: Progress towards developing trust and learning her priorities.
    • Expectation management: It's unlikely you'll be able to take any answer she gives at face value.
  • Arrangements:
    • Install a platform at the top of the tallest tree around Leaf. (Provided it isn't in a restricted area.)
      • Not a skytower. If you'll have to use 5SBs, disguise them.
      • Anti-Hyuuga seal + Air Dome against wind and eavesdropping.
      • Pros: Private. Scenic. Exciting. Reminiscent of the Battle of the Heavens. Might spot a sky squid.
    • Order food from the Yabai Café. Commission a "creatively baked" cake and, if Keiko/Mari know Ami's preferences, her favourite dishes.
    • Get a tabletop game with the weirdest rules. Play it as you talk.
      • (If it needs more than two players, just play several characters simultaneously.)
    • Bring sharp ninja wire. Practice braiding it beforehand, so it's safe for you, but would cut whoever grabs your hair.
  • Meeting:
    • She likes enigmatic questions. Open with one:
      • "If you could have anything you want, but you don't know what you want, what do you take?"
    • Onto the topic: Keiko's loyalties are divided between three factions now, which is causing her stress. You suspect two of these factions have goals flexible and compatible enough that the friction between them could be greatly ameliorated. Ami's the only one who knows if it's so. Would she be willing to give up the advantage of unpredictability against you?
    • If she refuses to share her goals, or gives a suspiciously convenient answer:
      • You think she doesn't have a specific goal. She's shooting for the stars because standing still has fatal opportunity costs, but her only object-level priorities are freedom and power — so that, if she ever decides what she wants, she'll be able to make it happen. In the meantime, she chooses to be disassociated from everything, "numb to love and hate", because attachments bridle her.
      • You can work with that. At least, it ensures that she's unlikely to work against you while you remain Keiko's family and in power; you have no plans of losing either status.
      • If she's ever interested in a discussion about the meaning of life and meta-ethics, she knows where to find you.
    • Anyway, how about that mutual hair-braiding? You grew it out and brought some wire and everything.
      • You're considering adding hair ornaments with small seals slotted in...
      • She owes you a souvenir!
      • Small-talk about plots. You recently ran into this annoying Hyuuga/Minami conflict when working on the Seventh Path trade network...
        • No, you don't have to pay her royalties, you'd arrived at the idea independently. Incidentally, what was that about "summoners have the right to"?
