So, naturally the most optimal thing to do with Akane's new XP is to invest it in CR so she can get closer to Shadow Clone. With 826 XP we can bring her up to CR 34 and almost be at our benchmark.

However, most of that XP was likely from before Akane was a Goketsu and knew that Shadow Clone was on the table. If we wanted to treat Akane's build like the ~500 XP she just got was from such a position of blindness, I would suggest we follow the next steps of my build plan and work on EM 20, Flame Aura 30, and then Trapmaking and Alertness. That said, the specifics would be trickier because my skill column projections assumed CR moved up to 30, so I'd have to take another look at things.

So, should we allocate the XP as we please, or should we assume a position of Shadow Clone blindness and train ordinary stuff instead?

(Also if we wanted EM 40 it would cost 662.5 XP but there's no compelling IC reason for Akane to buff EM that far and it might even contradict the saltern scenes)

edit:
Considering discussion on discord about what the reasonable bounds of what Akane could have wanted CR trained to, I calculated that in a five-round fight with one cast of EM and Flame Aura and full Chakra Boosting Akane would spend just over 200 CP, which means that I feel CR 25 is fairly justifiable for what Akane could want to level her chakra to. That would take 230 XP, leaving 270 for other miscellaneous expenditures. From there we can then spend the ~326 post-adoption XP all on CR, bringing her up to 30 CR while still being within the bounds of reasonableness.

How's that sound?

I think abstracting this windfall of XP as Akane working on Chakra Reserves in the background smooths things out from a story perspective AND lets us get closer to the cool things we want to do with Shadow Clone. I also think the idea of Akane hitting SC before anyone else in the clan is hilarious and will produce some good story moments too! I'm all for it.

It seems SC is always on the table for strong Leaf nin, so I don't know if that argument holds.
Even if Akane knew how it works, my gut feeling is that she'd think of it as 'something Jounin get' and so first she'd have to work on making Jounin.

tbh the idea of us getting Shadow Clone at Chuunin is probably going to raise some eyebrows when we petition for it. We might even find Asuma saying 'even if you know the secrets of it already, I can't risk giving Shadow Clone to a Chuunin' since Asuma isn't Jiraiya and might take a different view on the matter than he did.

Why the heck everyone is doing this? Without knowing what EJ planning to write, what he write may not necessarily develop to our advantage, as it happened in the last election.
That was not what happened in the election. What happened in the election is "we're collectively bored of this, timeskip plz". What's happening now is eaglejarl suggesting it might be a good idea to vote that.

Is this really in the best interest of Hazo, his goal and family? Because we know what happened in the election outcome.

1) That wasn't what happened in the election. We voted to tineskip to the vote.
2) Even if that wasn't the case, past cases of "we trust them" votes have gone favorable, so one point a data set does not make.
3) I am very confident in saying the best thing for Hazou, good family, and their continued existence are things that make the QMs happy and having the spoons/desire to keeping writing Hazou and co. Almost anything else comes after.
4) I'm also fairly confident a QM wouldn't kill off a main character in a suggested "we trust them" vote, because of both their inherent integrity, and them being wise enough to predict the giant gripe fest and poor moral that would follow.
5) Considering there is a plan for last vote that wasn't mostly implemented, and what we're in the middle of, we can make conjecture guesses what will happen, with "TPK from a Rock ambush" not particularly likely.
6) Also, XP rewards and shinies partially depend on QM goodwill and player/QM interactions (omakes and Faflec's prodigious recall as non-traditional examples), and more XP is good for Akane/Keiko/Noburi/Hazou and their survival, so... Yes. It's in their best interest.

[X] Let EJ write what he wants. We trust him.

I recalled it was let EJ writes what he want.

It's not about what Hazo could do with the help of the QM, it's about unfavorable outcomes.

"[] This stuff is boring and I trust the QMs to be reasonable. Timeskip to after the election. (Dealing with Pangolins, not long term power)"

I believe was the winning, or at least contending vote. Reasonable did happen, and we collectively decided Not to focus our efforts on the election, so that's on us.

The fuck? The whole thing is on us for choosing to timeskip.

That implies we actively chose it.

Indeed, that's on us.

I am still uncomfortable, though.

Something else entirely:

Hivemind and Character Improvement Initiative: A list of proposals for implementing anti-frustration features and better performance by both hivemind and MC according to a naked mole rat.

Hazo:
* Greater autonomy. Hazo will be able to develop and do things on his own without needing the hivemind help. This benefit us by smoothing over "bumpy" parts of social and political interaction, while the hivemind focus on strategic direction. This required changes to gameplay that may never be implemented.
* Better politician: He should be able to react and understand the political environment better. Solution: Accompany Mari on business. May required the 'Greater autonomy' upgrade. It will also free us from the constraint of having to talk to our teammates before making moves.

Hivemind:
* Character analysis incentive: Good analysis let us place into the context of target characters we may need to interact with. To make the hivemind do this consistently, 1 XP for such effort every update may motivate such effort.
* Character analysis: We need to do them.
* Short, usable, constantly updated checklists. We need to start using them more.
* Early planning: Getting more plans out and early let us focus on improving them instead of panicking.
* More plans: Diversity prevents us from pigeonholing into one plan.
* Veto vote: Use in case of emergency. A veto vote have extra weighted consideration, like three times the normal weight of a vote. Can only be used every five-ten updates or so.

Formatting change: bolded title of change I want to see. Describe the benefit of 'better politician'.

Can we even safely talk with Ami about this? Because it's kind of bloodline secret?

Sure we can just say: "Sealing failure is messing with my head", but if she can guess that it somehow connects with Hazou's bloodline, wouldn't that rise questions? She already has some insight into the IN, so she could possible figure something out.

Just be honest with her, and tell her the context. (Keiko hinted at things. Also scared of losing your trust 5ever.)

@Kiba I would find your arguments more persuasive if you pointed to something that needs particular care in the update. Abstract fear isn't something I can integrate into my reasoning easily.
