In fact, it may help if we spend those two days scribing the seals we need for SINs. If Kabuto pops by, he'll see us preparing hundreds of seals and freak out like "oh my jashin this kid was being serious aaaaaaaaaaaah".
[X] Action Plan: We're Going On A Lyin' Hunt
- SINs
- Take a high ranking chakra beast extermination mission.
- Party members: Hazou, Akane, Kagome, Naruto.
- "We'll go blow some stuff up, make a few other things, and prank the entirety of Rice."
- Take 2 weeks inside Fire borders. Our actual objectives, in descending order, the moment we leave:
- Testing Stacked Implosion Nukes.
- Ensure we aren't followed. Test away from civilization.
- Follow Kagome's suggestions.
- Naruto permitted to see Implosion seals?
- Preparation:
- Create a container that we can place an implosion seal in that won't rupture when the air rushes in.
- Activate the implosion seal.
- Close the container.
- Repeat until we have a significant amount of filled implosion seals.
- Testing:
- Prepare 5SB reinforced blast shielding.
- Detonate increasing amounts of filled implosion seals stacked together until kill radius exceeds 150m.
- Salterns:
- Use MEW to wall off sections of ocean.
- Freeze with EM.
- Boil leftover brine.
- Complete land sale. Clear said land.
- Find, rebuild, and re-key Jiraiya's contacts/network.
- Expand our contact list.
- Kill our target. (After Guerilla civil engineering in Land of Rice)
- Guerilla civil engineering in the Land of Rice.
- Prepare any signs in granite using inscription jutsu.
- Signs should have quotes or imagery hinting at an association to Jiraiya or Goketsu.
- Spend at most 1 week in Rice. Less if we notice Rock or Cloud spies noticing us.
- Build bridges, erect monuments extolling Rice's generosity and greatness, clear out entirely new villages, etc.
- Village assignments:
- Be obnoxiously helpful for Hiashi.
- Organize and instruct KEI with relevant talents.
- Noburi:
- Keep compiling:
- Adoption candidates
- Basement loot
- Watch for:
- Mist Merchants with our seal.
- Mari:
- Arranges backchannels with Ami.
- Do the thing with clanless association. You have carte blanche.
- Talk to Shikamaru about taking ISC medics.
Not tracking wordcount super closely right now, because i'm sure i can add more clever things/optimize wordcount; in the meantime, changelog:
Naruto's been invited to our excellent adventure involving pranking the entirety of Rice.
Reduced required kill radius to 150m. 150m already requires some inventive delivery methods, and IIRC @Radvic did SIN analysis that stated that a 270m kill radius would need somewhere around or upwards 200 implosion seals to achieve, which is frankly a projectile that can't be launched 270m and thus keep the user safe. 400m would be only more ridiculous, both in the minimum payload size and "how do i avoid dying and/or failing to deliver the payload".
Expanded Guerilla civil engineering section.
Noburi is now compiling basement loot and looking for those merchants we commissioned in Leaf.
Mari has been given carte blanche to do The Thing (TM).
Open to suggestions.
Hm. Two days is a lot more palatable than what I thought you meant, and it'll allow us to do some things. Give me some time to adjust things. It won't hurt us to wait two days for a response. We will still leave in the same update.
But leaving immediately for a mission and bringing Kagome with us (effectively telling Kabuto that the basement will not be purged at least until we return) will massively take the pressure off him.
Removed.Do not do this. The point of developing the back channels it to have communication that Hiashi isn't aware of

We don't need to specify that much detail. If Mari thinks it's a good idea for us, then Mari will do it. If Mari doesn't think it's a good idea for us, then Mari won't do it.I preferred the original version of the communications. With back channels we could be accused as traitors from conspiring with Mist, even if they are allies now. I'd say at least check the legality of back channels
We're studying the internal mechanics of how implosion seals work (storage seal that releases air); Naruto probably wouldn't know the mechanics of its use during a casual glance in the middle of a pitched fight during which time he lost his grandfather figure, was mass-tortured, subsequently starved for months on end, and then lost his uncle/father figure right as he was rescued.Good idea, although Naruto should have seen Jiraiya use them during the USOUD.
That's, uh, why Kagome's on the project. He actually canonically has the stuff on civil engineering. He would know. I think we can trust Hazou to sanity check it, but if he doesn't I'd still go ahead with it anyway; the only way it works is by commiting as hard as possible to doing something so unbelievable everyone just has to roll with it.@huhYeahGoodPoint
Hazo wanted to learn how to do engineering. We should let him do that. After all, we don't know how to build bridges yet.
Also, would be great if Hazo sanity check guerrilla engineering with the clan, like he just effectively did with Mari.

This doesn't jive with my intuitions, though. Individual N2 and O2 molecules are really small (like order 1e-30m^3 small), and you are unsealing them in a 4e3m^3 volume, which normally contains (checks...) 1e29 molecules of air. Increasing that number by a factor of 100 shouldn't(?) matter at all insofar as being able to find space for more really tiny things. There's a comparative metric fuckton of space to work with.
Yeah shits great.
KABUTO:... in conclusion, I will both get the cake that I desire and also the ability to eat it, and someone else will be paying for me to do so.
HAZOU: No.
KABUTO: No?
HAZOU: I didn't get what I want.
KABUTO: Yes.
HAZOU: I didn't get what I want, so you don't get to get what you want. No funding, no samples, no anything.
MARI: That's how this works. We can also make your life harder by doing clever things.
KABUTO: Uh.
HAZOU: I will also destroy what you want.
MARI: Kagome is very good at destruction.
KABUTO: Woah! Woah woah woah! Why would you do that?!
HAZOU: It's now useless junk to me, and Kagome will have fun.
MARI: A lot of fun.
KABUTO: ....! .... !!!
HAZOU: Perhaps if you consider giving me the things I want, I will entertain the idea of requesting that Kagome not destroy the things you want. Good day.
I'm personally picturing us taking a sudden week-long mission without notifying anyone outside the clan and Kabuto showing up only to find that 'Hazou and Kagome are preoccupied with confidential business at this time'.I have this lovely mental image of Kabuto coming to give us his answer, while Hazou calmly continues to add to the GIANT PILE OF SEALS next to him, making Kabuto increasingly twitchy.
No nested action plans, please. You need to copy the text of the other plan on, not just link to it.
It might be helpful for Mari to know whether we're presenting it as a fait accompli or trying to hide it. Legality matters a bit more when Hiashi can goWe don't need to specify that much detail. If Mari thinks it's a good idea for us, then Mari will do it. If Mari doesn't think it's a good idea for us, then Mari won't do it.
That would mess with every sealmaster in Leaf, along with every single accountant, logistician, etc.Hiashi could rightfully classify paper as a strategic military resource, requiring approval from the tower to acquire. Force us to only have enough paper to make skywalkers but not explosives or other seals.
That sounds awesome. Ninja don't really make very good test subjects because of needing to go off on missions all the time and having concerns over opsec, but no one bothers with trying to help civilians. We'd be trying something that has only rarely been tried at all (helping people's psychological state instead of making it worse), with entirely new test subjects.Oh yeah, a cool thing I wanted to do: pay the Yamanaka to mindscan mentally ill civilians to develop psychological/psychiatric techniques. Pay the civilians too, make sure they're willing and don't have any opsec concerns, bring the Akimichi in to test some drugs since they're body focused. Might end up discovering something that alleviates Nara apathy, too.
She has?
Prediction time! What is the likelihood of Kabuto joining the clan?
... congratulations, you just made me feel like a goddamned idiot and I'm not even angry (at you)...
If there was some evidence of that in the previous chapter, I've missed it
"Now, while I appreciate your invitation, I can't stay long. Between assisting Lady Tsunade in treating the presently injured, sorting through my paperwork in order to find Form 133(b) before the director's patience runs out, summoning training, making sure a certain experiment has not overheated and ruined a week's worth of research, equipment maintenance, and reviewing security protocols, it is a miracle I have time to spare to rescue Noburi's love life, much less respond to your invitation."
Right, thank you. Predictions updated.
