[X] Action Plan: The Best Timeline Beckons
Wordcount: 335
  1. Keiko
    • Hazou's thoughts (in general, not just for this interaction with Keiko)
      • Even if Ami's intentions are good, Keiko deserves better than being manipulated like this.
      • However, agency and respect are two-way streets. Keiko needs to express her wants and need better.
      • Suddenly shifting between extremes of "I have no value except as a tool" and "I will hurt you for intruding on things I value" is not healthy.
        • And it's definitely not a good way to interact with people.
        • It's fine to disagree and argue with people without reaching either extreme.
        • Hazou is partially at fault for being afraid of offending Keiko. Having a big fight before meeting Ami would've been better than this.
      • And she does have value! She won the tournament! The whole family loves her! It's almost insulting that she insists on her own worthlessness in spite of this.
    • Let Noburi take the lead on getting Keiko back to the inn.
      • If he thinks he'll have better luck on his own, leave him to it.
  2. Planning for the next meeting with Ami
    • Insist on including Keiko, if she's present. Noburi is a given.
    • Hazou is fed up with Ami's games, and intends to push for some straight answers.
    • The goal is to find out if Ami is capable of respecting Hazou as a partner (in general, not just in the context of a possible marriage)
      • Either she acquiesces and drops the games, or she doesn't, and that will be a negative answer in itself
    • Hazou is concerned that she may be in serious trouble, some of her actions seem quite desperate. In that case, he's willing to go to significant lengths to help Ami, for Keiko's sake.
    • Nonetheless, he has two necessary conditions for this help:
      • Some straight answers out of Ami
      • A declaration of intent in regards to Keiko. Hazou won't work with her if she intends to continue to pull hurtful bullshit like the marriage proposal without any regard for Keiko's feelings.
    • Anything else we want to put here?

Value Keiko for being Keiko, not for being "useful".

I am not sure about the timeline plan since it basically leaves Noburi to do the thinking of how to get Keiko back.

You all do realize that the more you talk about a possible heist in the current circumstances, the more likely it is that Ami will be the one to instigate the lead-up to any such heist?

Because that fact has instilled me with a certain manic glee the last few pages. Please, everyone, keep refining what a heist is and what we want from it and how we might do it and why we wouldn't do it right before our meeting with a social manipulator that hopelessly outclasses our PC, when one of the QMs adores the idea of a heist and another really enjoys having Ami fuck with the hivemind's heads.

This could be the most beautiful kind of trainwreck. Come on, keep going, this is great.

Just something that i thought right now.
Using pratical argument with Keiko will never work.
Saying she has value because she, for example, won the tournament, just implies that if she did not, she would not have value
I know this is not what we mean, but i feel it would be important dividing the idea of "valuable" and "effective", and noting that Keiko is valuable and useful simply by virtue of being her.
Just to hammer that we don't see her as a tool.
Jury is out whether this is a wise idea. Keiko has been known to dismiss subjective opinions out of hand when convenient

Keiko dismiss objective opinions out of hand when convenient too.
We just need to frame this an as axiom.
"your value is at the base of out my interactions with you, and is tied on your own self, much like you love Ami for her simple existence and being"
Is not something that can be disproven, because you can't disprove axioms.
You just can disagree, but then we spring the question.
"then you believe i'm inherently useless? Why do you believe Ami inherently valuable? Why are angry when wronged?"
We can't change her vision, but we can help her explore her own Pov of the world.

I don't know, it's not much of a haul if we're splitting Naruto four ways, five if Kagome gets in on this.
Shadow clones, silly.
But I like spreadsheets...

Excellent. We're going to have to invent banks... in order to rob them.
rob our rivals, drive up their costs of transaction. It gets us immediate capital and contributes to our eventual economic dominance via monopoly on money lending and financing, giving us essentially arbitrary control of currency.

I'm hopeful too, but not quite that enthusiastic. Maybe the dark god himself, the dread @Velorien , will grant this ardent wish for us true beleivers?

I would but I was thinking about what Hazo and the others would look like fully grown. Then I thought about what Hazo would look like as an old man, and now I can't help but see him as Silverfang from one punch man. It just works so well for me.

Noburi: Can I inherit your scroll?

Tsunade: *Why* would I give it to you?

Noburi: Because you see yourself in me and know that I'll become a great medic someday?

Tsunade: That's cute. Number 1, you're not drunk enough to be me. 2, you're barely a year into being a medic, 3, why would I pass up my personal apprentices or hell even their apprentices, and make some kid I've known for barely a month the heir to the slug summoning scroll?

Noburi:....Because you find me cute?

Tsunade:....I can respect the balls on you kid, go get me another drink and I won't break your legs.

Noburi: YES MA'AM
I got one more dumb one in me

Akane: Could I have your scroll Lady Tsunade?

Tsunade: But you're already dead though

Akane: Nani-*SPLAT*

Can you provide a citation?
The actual fights will occur over the course of 4 consecutive days, in a slightly-modified single-elimination format: 8 fights the first day, then 4, then 2, and finally 2 (one to determine 3rd vs 4th place, one to determine 1st vs 2nd).
Can't seem to recall when the 3rd vs 4th place match was stated to occur, maybe I'd just assumed it was before (since it would be less interesting if done after the finals match)?

No, we don't.

Until we blow up our hands since we don't have the training to use them without blowing ourselves up. Then my previous statement may become inaccurate due to Hazou being unable to activate seals.
You are a dedicated scholar of Marked for Death deep lore, thank you.
