I think we might have leverage over Mist, to prevent them from starting the Ninja Breeding Program.

Clan secrets. Not the boring kind of secret, like mechanics of mist drain or anything like that. Much juicier secrets. Mist's two most important clans are holding back. Wakahisa could easily become gods of Jutsu, and Kurosawa could flood Mist in seals. It will probably be very difficult to convince Mist to make these sorts of horrible sacrifices if they suddenly learn that the Mizukage's clan and her biggest supporters have been shortchanging the village for generations.

This is going nuclear though. We only do it if they make obvious moves towards a breeding program.

Yeah, that's the idea. Though we shouldn't be explicit about it. Instead... well. If Mist sides against Leaf, we obviously have to help our allies against our former clans as best we can, now don't we?

No, we absolutely should be explicit about it in private communications; it's a threat we can leverage against Ren or her replacement should they ever try something like a ninja breeding program.

I completely misread you previous post. I thought you were suggesting that we ally with the Kurosawa, get a crap ton of seals, and use those to bludgeon Mist.

I keep misreading your posts. Next time I get a clever idea after reading one, I will re read your it under the assumption that my clever idea was actually yours. :p

So I'm thinking that the breeding program as described as by Jiraiya is not tenable. If Mist is actually is going all out and trying to keep all there ninjas who are capable of having babies constantly pregnant then they are giving up half of there combat ability at a time when a world war is probably going to pop of any day now. Much more likely that they will limit it to civilians related to ninja as part of the program.

Everybody knows it's an untenable desperation move strategy. I mean, it's literally the worst case scenario. Not terribly likely, given that she sent Hana to Leaf.

Well, how hard would it be to get every student eating the same food provided by the school?
I'm thinking we turn sandwiches into some sort of WMD.

And/or we make them the deciding socioeconomic factor to ensure Leaf supremacy.

This goes beyond school lunches. All will know the might of the PB&J. To say nothing of the indomitable supremacy of the breakfast sandwich tech tree.

*sigh*

Realistically I feel we could do much better by making sandwiches WMDs the easy way. That is to say, we invent a seal that takes an input (read: a sandwich) and can output that exact same sandwich infinitely. Basically, a self-replicating sandwich seal.

Its too late.

I have already figured out a way to use culinary magic to break the setting in half. Bwa hah hah.

Some people here seem to be worried about Mist implementing the Ninja Breeding Plan being a possible risk.

Wouldn't the Mist becoming a sealing superpower via the Kurosawa be a bigger and more likely risk. Right now the only thing holding that back is the irrational Kurosawa "We hold the line" mentality.

Ren has been portrayed as a consummate diplomat and hence may possibly be the one to get the Kurosawa to change their mind about their arbitrarily enforced combat specialisation (even a few would be sufficient).

This would strengthen her clan and the village significantly. As a Kage whose power is dependent on being a Clan head this for her would be hitting the jackpot.

The Goketsu clan gave a strong example the power one can field due to having a large amount of seals.

This is something Ren probably already knew. My theory for why she didn't try this when she was a Clan head is that under Yagura as all the Kurosawa would be put in Sealing factories and produce Seals (or blanks for those without the skill). But now that she is the Kage this could actually consolidate her power as a Kage and that of the Kurosawa as a Clan in Mist for a very long time.

edit: Having said all this Jiraiya would probably have known about this scenario. And he didn't mention anything about this when he spoke about the possible worst case scenario (Ninja Breeding program). So maybe there are other issues which come in the way of it's implementation, which is good for us, but it is a future risk.

This is it. We are turning fucking sandwiches into weapons of mass destruction. We have reached peak MfD.

The thing is that even in desperate situations it doesn't work. Baby farming is something you can only do if your village is doing well. In any situation that could justify baby farming, giving up half your forces is committing suicide.

On the other hand, if anyone could get the Kurosawa to make seals it's Ren. She's a Kurosawa, the Mizukage, knows that they can mass produce seals, and is extremely cunning. I would think that she would institute some kind of sealing program that would seem to be the reason for the increase in seals, then black box everything. The average citizen just knows that for some reason there's seals EVERYWHERE. Dig a little deeper, and you discover that it's because of a top secret sealmaster training facility. Dig even deeper, and you find something else. The Kurosawa don't have to show that they can all make seals, because it'll be buried under multiple layers of secrecy.

How long do you think it would take to see gains from this? Six months to a year after its final implementation?

Beyond just stockpiling storage scrolls and explosive tags, if this is to be a gamechanger they probably need an actual pile of Kurosawa sealmasters doing real sealing research.

Might take a while.

We should have larger yield implosion seals by then...
