I can conceive of no reason why a plan would create an unbreakable mirror, tell Ino that it wouldn't break, yet not make a connection between the two. Nor can I conceive of one why you'd go out of your way to invent a material specifically for the purposes of giving it to Ino, name it after her, then conceal this information from her in the event.

It would never have occurred to me to write this but now...
First off, feel free to put the timeline under separate cover as long as it stays under 300 words.
Second, if this gets voted in then you're accepting the original conversation with Ino, which means Hazō's ability to create gems is blown, along with whatever other deductions she can make from that, which is probably a lot since Hazō had used Earthshaping very publicly, eg when creating the Great Seal replica.

- Edited engineer discussion to be more in line with Kiba's suggestions.
- Replaced "Bragon bones" with "Dragonwar" as the deliberate lie when talking with Hinata.

Is there room to include a line about Hinata saving Kei? Hazou has a reputation for being dangerously protective, and Hinata knowing that Hazou is grateful for her aid in saving Kei would do a lot more to reassure Hinata than Uplift statements about "making friends instead of enemies.'
Which, while true, probably isn't enough to reassure her. But if presented with a more obvious reason for Hazou being friendly (Ino's vouching, Hinata sticking her neck out for Kei to save Kei from Orochimaru's scalpel), then Hinata will be able to act with more comfort/ease than she otherwise would.

Showing Shino corundum basicly tells him about ES gemcrafting.
Shino knows we have earthshapeing and suspects we used it to make lenses.
When we show up with new gem-like lenses, and then start selling tons of perfect saphires, he'll know what's up.
He and Hinata are close, so I suspect they'll put it together anyways as very soon after we tell Hinata we're entering the gem market.
