[X] Action Plan: The Report
Word Count: 299
  • Leave a note detailing our Naraka Path observations near Daizen.
  • Return to Leaf.
    • Haru's not going to turn us in, right? Maybe Noburi/Akane can talk to/keep an eye on him.
      • Ask Noburi enroute, while getting medical healing.
  • Meet with Asuma.
    • Stop at the clan compound first.
      • Talk to Mari (use anti-eavesdropping procedures), fully detailing our mission and discussing how we should report to Asuma.
        • Hazou leans towards full disclosure but wants to avoid major Consequences.
          • Possibly-stupid idea: Could we leave a written report and have Mari smooth things over?
        • Talking points:
          • Summoning Scroll: We found it!
            • Should we turn it in to help smooth things over?
          • Letter: We sent it in hopes of tilting WW4 in our favor and keeping Akatsuki from destroying us.
            • Do we need to mention the letter? Itachi mentioned it in front of Haru...
          • Intel on Akatsuki.
            • Among other things, they were aware of our pox/plague plan against Iwa.
          • Possible limited partnership with Akatsuki.
            • They at least seem unlikely to attack.
            • Would Asuma try to take over over communications?
          • Intel on the afterlife/portal.
          • Intel on potential meteorites/chakra metal.
    • Debrief at the Tower, following Mari's advice.
  • R&R for >1week before we leave for Mist. In the meantime:
    • Prepare for the koi heist. Get Mari's advice.
      • Consider multiple trips to throw Mist off our scent when we steal the koi.
      • Make use of Summons to take/transport fish safely.
      • If possible aim to do this while someone known to be lax/incompetent is in charge of inspecting the nets.
      • Steal younger fish and tear the net between the ponds.
      • Be seen elsewhere when it happens.
    • Visit Keiko and ask how her mission went, if she's back.
    • Catch up on our Skyslider/other projects.
    • Get some checkups with Noburi/a medic-nin.

Yeah, if nothing else leaving a murderous enemy who has at least some info on us running around seems ill-advised if we can help it (and we can only help 1/3 in this case). It will slow down our return though, and is a death sentence (or worse) for the guy.

I think things like grabbing food samples, and other "slow to pan out but worthwhile long-term" items probably aren't priority right now, unless it gets done by someone while we talk with Haru or something. I don't think traveling for 2 days back to leaf without addressing what just happened would be a good idea, and from a meta prospective, getting the input of the two sane clan members while we're in their company anyway traveling seems like a decent idea.

Edit: I think that any plan that has steps after "talk to Asuma and hope we don't get kill-boxed" may be a bit forward here, especially given our last conversation with him. Asking Mari if she thinks we should offer up the scroll to see if that'll soften Asuma up seems worth mentioning, at least.

quick research on afterlife portal could be dangerous since sealing failure. especially elemental/shadow clones. main benefits sounds like confirming its an afterlife portal (although without ways to recreate the effect this might be mute), and getting samples from the afterlife (which could also be dangerous.

So, uh, I suppose killing Daizen close to the portal is out of the question? It'd solve the issue of not creating our self-made Batman Villain, we wouldn't have to drag him around while exfiltrating and it could give us some clues about what happens to people that die close to the portal.

Would literally defeat the point of rescuing him.

If we return to Leaf so soon, there might be suspicions. So we might be spied on when talking to Mari. Can we use similar precautions Jiraiya used to talk to us? Talking buried in the ground? We won't be able to have a floating sphere of seals unfortunately. Perhaps talk vaguely so that eavesdroppers won't know what we are saying, but Mari still will?

there are a few things we can do if we wake daizen up. although waking daizen up carries risk from ninja.
1. question him about portal
2. negotiate wat will happen to him. death, dissection, T&I, etc. we can offer him goodies (like things touched by hidan) if he is willing to be dissected

  • Let Hazou recover from his Medium Consequence before we leave for Mist. In the meantime:
    • General preparations for the koi heist/visiting family. Talk to Mari and listen to her advice.
    • Visit Keiko and ask how her mission went, if she's back.
    • Catch up on our Skyslider/other projects.

What timeframe are you thinking? I am thinking of working on projects to beef up our contribution like that Wabun morse code idea.

  • Return To Leaf
  • Bind, gag, and drain Daizen. Bring him back to be studied for afterlife effects
    • While Traveling:
    • Talk with Akane, Alone.
      • You were going to die:
        • Both with the Chakra Golem and Hidan, you could do nothing.
      • You could die in Leaf too, so you can't wait.
        • Tell her your feelings
      • Hazou that will never be her enemy.
        • You refuse to choose between Uplift and her, both in the most life-changing choices and in how you treat her, this how important she is for you.
    • She's not an asset or a resource.
      • Akane is a wonderful person that make every day worth living despite everything else.
      • She's the one you can trust to be righteous even when you're lost.
    • She can do what she wants with that information, it needed to be said.
  • Haru
    • Did he understand why exactly he was chosen as a candidate for Goketsu?
    • He didn't accept the status quo.
    • This is important, this is the most important thing. The Clan/Clanless divide are a small part of a system that ends with people dying, but he recognized it as wrong, and while incapable of doing anything, he didn't just "Accept" it, even if it would been so much easier.
    • It wasn't luck that brought him to Goketsu, His feeling until this moment brought him here, those weren't useless
    • Does he wants to help you change the world,Uplift, ect?
      • We'll make a world where Clan and Clanless are the same
      • We'll make a world...well, he just listened to the world Hazou wants, no need to repeat ourselves
    • This said, does he have any question on this mess?

Following Hidan suggestion, talking to Haru and bringing back Daizen, sorry guys, but Jashin spoke and Hazou must answer his orders.

I'm imagining a week or so (which is the timeframe for the Medium Consequence to heal). Just enough time to get caught up and start projects, if we have detailed suggestions.

plans that don't talk to haru could add what to do if haru asks about the letter on the way back to Leaf. "clan secrets", "not now", etc. as responses?

[X]Action Plan: Always follow the Oracle.

Because I think that this is a good time with Hazou to be upfront, and the threads seem to have been dangling. Plus, bringing unique case/information source with as a gift for Asuma can't hurt. More iffy on the Haru section honestly.

Ah, I confused it for the severe. Might want to clarify it as "one week".
Sure.
[X] Action Plan: The Report
  • Leave a note detailing your observations on the Other Side with the unconscious Daizen.
  • Return to Leaf.
    • Hazou is injured, so take additional safety precautions.
  • Meet with Asuma.
    • Stop at the clan compound first.
      • Finger-signal Noburi/Akane to keep an eye on Haru; we don't want him running to the Hokage to blurt out our treason.
      • Talk to Mari privately and discuss what happened, and what exactly should be told to the Hokage, how it should be approached, etc..
        • Hazou leans towards full disclosure but wants to make sure he isn't going to get the clan executed for treason or something. Note the letter was mentioned, and Haru was present.
        • Full disclosure talking points, for Mari's adjustment:
          • Letter was sent to avert WW4 or affect the outcome for WW4. If Akatsuki had intervened, Rock's attack wouldn't have turned us into swiss cheese.
          • Intel on Hidan and Itachi.
          • Possible limited partnership with Akatsuki.
          • Intel on the afterlife and portal. "I came back from the afterlife to bring this report to you!".
          • Intel on chakra metal and meteorites location.
    • Report to the Tower for debrief. Follow Mari's advice.
      • Ask if Asuma can get information on the Porcupines' culture and attitudes from Enma, so you can determine the best fit for their summoner amongst the Goketsu.
  • Let Hazou recover for ~1 week before we leave for Mist. In the meantime:
    • General preparations for the koi heist/visiting family. Talk to Mari and listen to her advice.
    • Visit Keiko and ask how her mission went, if she's back.
    • Catch up on our Skyslider/other projects.

May want to be more specific so Mari will be more helpful. Hazo is thinking of gathering intel over many visits and getting Mist used to their presence.

Was that the plan? I've honestly been confused as to the koi heist, as on Discord our discussion involved using Summons which we can't access due to Noburi not being finished with training yet.

Anyway, I'll add some thoughts in later.
