Is the abstention alone worth it? It seems like Asuma will lose if it comes to a tie, and with an odd number of votes, Uchiha abstaining will only make a loss into a tie.

Even if Hiashi managed to flip Tsunade, we will win by a margin of one point. However, we want to be more than certain of victory.

Forgot a clan.

With the Hagoromo voting for us and the Uchiha abstaining I think we win?

Lets flip the Amori just to be sure. Hiashikage is a bad couple decades for progressive ideas

[X] Action Plan: Meeting of the Minds Redux
Wordcount: 297

Clan Meeting:
  • Apologize to Mari. Deal made us extremely frustrated, because of its treatment of women and Hazou's children as little more than political bargaining chips. Even so, we should not have acted in the way that we did.
  • Tell Naruto about Goketsu's progress to secure deals and ask Naruto what he's been up to.
  • Mari's in charge of Amori negotiations. Give her a list of things we're 100% willing to offer for their vote, like money, training, trade deals, specialized seals.... We want to secure a deal ASAP.
  • Accept the longer payment scheme for the Uchiha deal. It incentivizes them to keep us alive.
  • Sanity-check Hazou's agenda with Mari (and the clan, if available) beforehand. Use Mari's advice and suggestions. Don't blurt out OPSEC-sensitive info (e.g., our strategic moves) unless previously cleared.
  • Shikamaru's offer: Yes
Social Calls/Meetings:

  • General:
    • Exchange condolences and commiseration.
    • Ask about the Amori and their particular goals. Try to figure out what they've offered so we have a better idea of how to sweeten the pot.
  • (Off-screened) Ino/Chouza:
    • Confirm that they are voting for Asuma.
    • Ask what they think Hiashi/Asuma would act as Hokage.
  • Asuma:
    • Hazo is worried about a world war breaking out; what's his game plan for keeping the peace?
    • What are Asuma's priorities for improving Konoha?
    • Suggestions for the future:
      • (IFF Naruto's OK with it) Naruto continues his leadership training by becoming a personal assistant to the kage or to that effect.
      • Focus on economic development through till'n'fills. Ninja magic will help grow the economy faster and save more lives.
      • Kagome, Honoka, and Hazo's experience with education suggests villages' education system still have ways they can improve. Focusing efforts here'll give Leaf an advantage.
Misc.:

  • Work on land clearing's legal, economic, and operational aspects.
  • Ami-style training.

Would you mind adding in something about finding out what in the world is going on with everyone dressing up? It might be something like the vote happening soon. Or something else that we need to know about.
We could have Mari check it out or something.
We really need to get a new disguise kit and training with it. Not being able to go out and trawl for information ourselves is terrible, especially for someone who's highest social stat is deception.

Edit:
Kiba, if you do add asking Mari, would you please quote or @ me so I remember to vote for the plan? Thanks.

Mari's time is best spent on Amori. Also, this is likely to be Ami's work, not Hiashi. My model is that Hiashi wouldn't stoop so low as to have clanless minions.

I think we should offer the Amori X amount of explosive seals and Y amount of storage seals and various utility seals (Usamatsu's, Tunneler's Friends, X Domes, etc.) on any missions they have outside of Leaf, under the assumption that they do not have a sealmaster in-house. Naturally, we buy most of these rather than writing them ourselves -- they're not worth the time it'd take to scribe them.

Why not just give them money to buy the seals they want?

Because not all of the seals we're selling will be available on the market. There are no quotas for Earth Domes or Usamatsu's Glorious Life-Preserving purifier to my knowledge, so there's no guarantee they'll be on the market.

There is a land-clearing deal we're setting up which may turn out to be quite profitable...

But yes, give them money, discuss possible trade deals, maybe look at votes if they have more to offer.

Side note: Aren't we doing meetings next update? Shouldn't this wait until after that?

Mostly social call, yes. But with Amori, we aren't sending Hazo to negotiate. Mari will do that.

I feel like we're preemptively splitting the land-clearing deal too many ways when we don't know how much income it will get us.

I mean, split 4 ways it's still useful, no?

Keep in mind that farmlands are currently the best way to increase GDP and increase our wealth by a large margin. Even sealmasters can't make as much money as farmlands.

If we split it with our allies four ways, we'll lose a lot of our potential earning.

Eh? IIRC clearing and selling farmland wasn't as profitable?

Do you mean the profits from using the land?

What I meant is that the ownership of land is by far the greatest determinant of wealth in a medieval world. I expect we might also make a killing off land sale.

In any case, I do not believe splitting up the land and sharing it with our allies is not a good idea from a wealth generation perspective.

... you.

You know.

And the other QMs.
Not really. You could have invented Skywalkers+ and conquered the other villages, creating an unbreakable united front against Akatsuki. You could have gone on a Tailed Beast hunt (not that anyone would ever dream of suggesting such a thing) and turnes Hazō into Hashirama mk2, forcing the other villages to unite against you in defence and attempt to release as many of the Tailed Beasts as possible. Or you could fail in the hunt, leaving a whole bunch of untamed Beasts behind. Etc. There are only so many possibilities a human being (or a QM) can model.
We need to have a plan that will logically end in disaster but look perfect at first glance.
To quote @Noumero (and whoever they are quoting), omit unnecessary words.
