You know, Mari's taking this Rumplestiltskin thing way too far. Most people only have to give up their first born child, Hazō has to give up basically all of them! :p

Speaking of which, when Hazō's time to start being a baby factory comes, are we going to get our own Gōketsu harem or something in an attempt to still have a decent percentage of the Iron Nerve users in Leaf, or is the plan just become super powerful and renegotiate the deal?

No. The plan is to become powerful enough that the Iron Nerve being not monopolized by our clan becomes irrelevant.

[X] Action Plan: Meeting of the Minds

Apologize to Mari. Hazo was afraid of having zero connection to his future children.

Get meeting plan sanity checked by Mari (and the clan, if available) beforehand; use Mari's advice and suggestions for the meetings.

For all:
  • Exchange condolences and commiseration. Confirm that they are voting for Asuma.
  • (if approved) Share that Goketsu secured deals for hat vote, but no specifics.
  • The rest is a social call unless there's something specific.
Asuma:
  • Inquire Asuma's plan for the future. Hazo is worried about a world war breaking out. Do Asuma have a game plan for continuing the peace?
  • Suggestions:
    • Naruto's training for leadership needs to continue. Maybe Naruto could be personal assistant to the kage or similar position. Need to ask Naruto first.
    • Focus more on economic development as till'n'fill. Ninja magic will help grow the economy faster and save more lives.
    • Educational reform. Kagome, Honoka, and Hazo's experience with education suggests villages' education system are probably all bad in their own way. Improving the academy will give Leaf an advantage.

If there's time:
  • Get info for landclearing and investigate the legal process for gaining ownership of new land.
  • Check up on civilians in the backyard. See if there could be anything he could help rebuild.

Implemented Falfec's suggestions. Also added two items on landclearing and civilian checkup.

[X] Action Plan: Meeting of the Minds

There was some talk about talking to Chouza about organizing some mourning event for the fallen and/or talking about building a memorial.

I would like it if we asked each of them for their read on Hiashi. What are his political goals, what drives him nuts, his favorite color saturation(how does a Byakugan see stuff anyways?); that kinda stuff.

Maybe also their read on Asuma, since we don't know much about him either (Except Asuma. I am not suggesting asking Asuma what he thinks about Asuma since asking Asuma what Asuma thinks about Asuma might weird Asuma out).

Should we talk about Isan to anyone?
I am unsure whether Isan can be used to sway votes. It's not unthinkable that people would feel more comfortable voting against Hiashi with more ninjapower on our side. On the other hand, it's a foreign power, and being connected to a foreign power in any form doesn't look very good.
Shika may already know about their existence at least. Should Asuma become Hokage we will kinda have to tell him about it. Could be worth talking to them about it, we would need to ask Mari(?) if doing this is insane and will kill us first though.

I'd like to note that I'm perfectly fine with asking Asuma about his opinions on Asuma.

Who else would know better?

  • (if approved) Share that Goketsu secured deals for hat vote, but no specifics.
  • The rest is a social call unless there's something specific.
  • Inquire hosts on their read on Hiashi/Asuma as kage. Note: Don't ask Asuma on himself.
Asuma:
  • Inquire Asuma's plan for international diplomacy. Hazo is worried about a world war breaking out. Do Asuma have a game plan for continuing the peace?
  • Inquire what he hope to do to improve Konoha.
  • Suggestions for the future:
    • Naruto's training for leadership needs to continue. Maybe Naruto could be personal assistant to the kage or similar position. Need to ask Naruto first.

Implemented suggestions.

So then it seems like civilians can theoretically move as they please but in practice leaving areas uncontrolled by ninja means means being at the mercy of chakra beasts, bandits, etc. and ninja don't really bother with keeping track of rural civilian movement so long as the farmers and hill daimyos keep the tithes coming.

That about sum it up?
Seems reasonable. That addresses my chief concern about our land-clearing project, that we might have trouble getting settlers if they need permission from their current lord to move to the new land.

Added skywalker seals.
@eaglejarl would like some critique before our inevitable d00m.

Reactions:

1) You're discussing Naruto becoming Asuma's assistant before discussing it with Naruto. Yes?
2) You only want to cover the Asuma interview. (For which I thank you!)
3) You want to cover the Asuma interview instead of offscreening it for something like land-clearing etc. Reasonable, but good to confirm.

Let's close voting at 8pm MDT tonight. That's in 12 hours.

I'm waiting on confirmation / dis-confirmation of my existing answers before proceeding with other questions, but I'm concerned that some of them (like comprehensive civilian movement patterns) are so open-ended and tangential to the typical study of economics that it would not be worth even 200 XP to build a model to answer. As I understand it, the bounty was for economic & legal questions outstanding at the time of that GM post, not additional questions after the fact (which would require a separate - and, for some questions, much larger, bounty).

How useful (if at all) would a massive document that contains literally every single paragraph that contains a question mark since the post of Jiraiya's death be?

(For context, it's 10,262 statement/paragraphs, with 0% of context, poster information, etc)

Naruto's training for leadership needs to continue. Maybe Naruto could be personal assistant to the kage or similar position. Need to ask Naruto first.
Maybe just remove it entirely for now? We don't really have time to set up a meeting with Naruto before the Asuma meeting. Unless we can just grab a clone and ask him real quick?

About the village system education part. I think our tone could be better and take us farther, especially considering the last update.

I also think the term Education reform would be easier to get through if it wasn't named reform. Something like developmental supplements or alternative excercises. Make it sound less forced. Might sell Asuma and leaf better on the idea.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm starting to think the Ino and Chouza meetings (and maybe even the Asuma one) could just be skipped as social calls (offer condolences, confirm political unity). I dunno.

Made changes in response to number one.

Asuma is just the one I could scourge up substance for. I have not decided if the Asuma interview warrants screentime over landclearing or not.

That's fine if you all want to spend all our time on landclearing and setting it up for execution.

But part of the intention for Asuma interview is to influence his policies on things like education reform and economic development.

Gimme like a Like if you want moar landclearing. A Hug for keeping the interview. I'll decide in two hours.
