So it's confirmed that Hidan dies when you tear him apart?

More seriously, his "canon" death was more fitting, IMO. Less badass, but definitely more moving.

YMMV on the badass factor. I think "Reached through Kisame to break his spine without even looking" is super badass. (In fact @eaglejarl ,@Velorien I liked that SO much that I shamelessly stole it for my DFRPG campaign as a description of Boss Badguy killing someone. Players were friggin' stunned!)

Note that since this chapter never happened, nothing in it is canon, including the seals.
I have a seal suggestion for things Jiraiya might have made.

Entirely Original Herbicide Seals Do Not Steal

These release a burst of high-power herbicide suitable to defeat even the Mokuton (Jiraiya tested them against a small splinter of the walls of Konoha, to Hiruzen's distaste.)

[x] Action Plan: Disheartening Lack of All-Consuming Horror (Original Character Donut Steel)
Wordcount: 276
Timeline: Immediately after Chapter 269.

  • Continue:
    • Regarding Ami:
      • Mari: Any insights into her mind?
        • Is she trustworthy? Can you manage her?
      • Should we spend her favour? Ideas:
        • "Maximize our political influence in Leaf."
        • "Maximize my social competence."
    • We need manpower. Suggestions:
      • Adopt competent civilians: socially/financially adept people, teenagers suitable for politics/spycraft training...
      • Acquire operatives: clanless ninja and civilians. People who'd run errands in exchange for favours/money/privileges.
    • Leaf jounin:
      • How many remain? What are their political affiliations?
      • Can we adopt any clanless ones?
    • Tsunade: Promise her funding before Hiashi does?
      • Maybe by suggesting collaboration on land-clearing?
    • To whom will Dogs/Turtles go?
      • Should we reconsider adopting Lee if he becomes the Turtle summoner?
    • Naruto:
      • Is it possible we can make him Asuma's assistant post-election? Would be excellent Hokage-ing experience for the next one.
  • Prepare for and schedule meetings:
    • Tomorrow: Ino (lunch), Chouza (afternoon), Asuma (dinner).
    • Overmorrow: Shino, Minami, Keiko (topic: 7th Path Stuff), Team Nakano.
  • Contingency: Ami arrives at the compound (sanity-check with Mari) uninvited.
    • Keep a sign indoors:
      • "Any Ami Mori who sneaks through our defenses unassisted to show off (as judged by Mari) cedes us another favour (–_^)/~~".
  • Early Morning: Spar with Lee!
    • Ami-style training: You spar in a wide open training field, but can only move on top of a few dozen logs placed upright in it. First to touch the ground loses. Try a variety of strategies: don't move and chakra adhere to a single log, destroy the logs, race between them like a monkey, etc. Stop a few hours before your lunch meeting with Ino.
    • If he wishes, tell him anything about Gai's final moments from the debriefing we read. He has a right to know.

Note that this one was just a prepared Usamatsu's Glorious Life-Saving Purifier. (No comment on the power/availability of MfD herbicide).

You have been asking for us to provide ideas for seals that could be in Jiraiya's notes. If this version of the BotG event wasn't specifically disqualified from canon due to the seals revealed, wouldn't it make sense to draw inspiration from it? I mean, the seals could still be super hard to research and require even Kagome to skill up considerably first, but they are definitely a good mix of flashy, powerful and quirky to fit Jiraiya's MO. I mean, that's why you conceived of and used them here.

Sweet!

Fun fact: this was a rare case of convergent evolution. @eaglejarl and I independently decided that the Battle of the Gods should feature Jiraiya doing something terrible to Hidan's spine with his bare hands. Poor Hidan.

      • Acquire operatives — civilian, from major clans, and clanless: people who'd run errands in exchange for favours/money/privileges.
        • Utilize Jiraiya's blackmail?
    • Should we continue working with the Kuronuma Group?
      • Sell them ice/salt.
      • Promise help against the Akasugi for assistance.
    • Leaf jounin:
      • How many remain? What are their political affiliations?
      • Can we adopt any clanless ones?
        • Like Kurenai — giving Asuma an excuse for political marriage.
    • Tsunade: Promise her funding before Hiashi?
      • Through Asuma, or by suggesting collaboration on land-clearing.
    • To whom will Dogs/Turtles go?
      • Should we reconsider adopting Lee, if Turtles are his?
    • Weaponizing EM: Hot air rises, cold air falls. Placing a cold effect above a hot one should create a tornado. Useful for land-clearing?

    • Carefully introduce to Kagome.
    • Possible discussion topics (Clan + Ami):
      • Establishing communication with her in Mist.
      • Including her in our previously-discussed plots.
      • Akatsuki: They're an existential threat. Pool information, offer full collaboration against them.
        • Is diplomacy possible? Can we influence their idea of "pursuing peace the hard way"?
  • Train creatively.
  • Morning: Work on acquiring operatives with Noburi and Akane.
    • Fund till'n'fills. Consider turning mission-desk ninja (Ito Ino?) into operatives.

So inasfar as Doing a Necromancy goes...

There are three big things we can do that'd help us in pursuit of that.

First: Getting all of Orochimaru's notes.
Second: Getting Tsunade's cooperation
Third: Getting Sasori's cooperation

Also Arikada's notes.

Also Kabuto's cooperation.

Or Chiyo, if she exists.
